This place is absolutely worthy of five stars!!! I try to visit local ice creameries every time I travel and this place definitely ranks in my top ten - maybe even top five! Not all ice creameries are created equal - every store has a different style and different strengths. To me, Morellis has a slightly gourmet feel. Sometimes I get frustrated with these gourmet creameries because I feel like I have to choose between plain Jane flavors that they try to jazz up with a fancy name (i.e. Really just chocolate and vanilla) or some really weird flavors that shouldnt be in my dessert (i.e. Goat cheese or Rosemary). However, Morellis does a fantastic job at being imaginative, but not ridiculous! I did some sampling before I chose my two flavors, but I really loved all four that I tried. The Peanut Butter Cookie and the Black Cherry Chocolate Chip were both delicious. But since I traveled all the way from St. Louis, I figured I should go with something a little more unique - Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake and the East Indian. The former was a super rich chocolate, a flavor that was perfectly enhanced by the cream cheese aspect. And the rich raspberry swirl gave the perfect balance of tart and sweet. The ice cream itself was creamy and melted easily (just the way I like it)! This flavor is very similar to another favorite of mine - Chocolate Raspberry Truffle from Handels in Indy. The East Indian was awesome and totally different from anything Ive had before!!! In KC, a place called Glacé makes an amazing Chai ice cream that I absolutely love. But I feel like Morellis took this kind of flavor to the next level!! It has (what I think is) orange/lemon zest and a strong cardamom kick. Totally not what I was expecting, but oh so good!! This ice cream was a little more sense and took a while to melt, but was still nice and creamy. I would totally recommend this place to anyone who loves creamy ice cream with unique flavors that will satisfy that sweet tooth craving!

Made my 2yr old toddler SICK (Vomiting, food poisoning) Look, Im not going to sit here and bash this place and tell people not to go there. This place have a lot go good reviews. My review is based on my personal experience visiting for the first time. On Wednesday May 24, 2017 after searching on Google for good Ice cream place near by, I came across Morellis Gourmet Ice Cream. I took my Girlfriend and our 2 year old son out for ice cream around 4pm. We all had separate flavors. I had the BK Cheesecake, my girl had the Strawberry and our son had some Banana flavor (dont remember exact name). Within 2-3 hours after eating the ice cream my son threw up (around 6pm ish). As of this writing, Its 27 mins past Midnight and my son been throwing up ever since. Were getting worried that that particle ice cream may have been bad and possibly contaminated (Im no expert). He cant keep nothing down at all. Everything we give him to eat he vomit. The last thing he ate was the ice cream and prior to that he had his usual breakfast around 10am. So yes, its the ice cream that made him sick. I just had to leave a review after such a horrible experience. We just hope that he gets better by morning. If he keeps throwing up we going to have to take him to the emergency room to get him check for possible food poisoning.

First, their ice cream is outstanding. The makers are very creative and take risks with the flavors, and they are powerful but not overbearing. Always excited to check it out. There is often a line, even if only a few visitors. Without an open counter like many ice creameries, their system for tasting and buying is not very fluid. Their menu is also printed small and only available at the ordering window, so its difficult to plan ahead before your turn is up. The product, though, is A+ every time. Try the "Smurf" if they have it!!!

Today I have to drop off my fiancé at the airport and we decided to spend some time in Atlanta. We live about an hour out. I googled ice cream places and Morellis was rated the highest. We are NOT disappointed. Immediately we both wanted to try salted caramel. The reviews are so right! This is delish and I got this one! My fiancé tried the blueberry rose water and the blueberry in it is awesome! This is a definite place for us to come back to if we ever are in the area!

Ice Cream!!!!! Happy Summer Solstice! Hands down Morellis Gourmet Ice Cream is one of Atlantas best kept ice cream locations. With flavors like Ginger Lavender, Krispy Kreamier and Chocolate Bourbon... you are in the higher realms of yumtastic! Personal favorites Salted Caramel and Strawberry Rosewater. ... Mixed in a shake... yeah. Plus theyre opened until 11 P.M. on Friday and Saturday nights..

Its great quality, very neat and clean. Great prices. Pet friendly. They have the large umbrellas outside under which one can sit & enjoy their ice cream. Has a good atmosphere & attracts great crowd. The staff is very friendly and professional. Theyll go that extra mile to make a customer happy & satisfied. Do give this place a shot. You wont regret it. Its completely worth it.

Hunted this place down based on a magazine article and it was worth the hunt. No indoor seating, but exceptional creamy frozen fare. The person inside was very friendly and helpful-- patiently passing along little plastic spoonfuls of truly creative and tasty ice cream, but each taste seemed only to make the ultimate decision more difficult.

Easily the best gelato in Atlanta. Fantastic flavors like ginger cinnamon and toasted almond espresso. Its a slightly weird location (I hate the traffic on Moreland), but more than worth a visit. Unfortunately theres no inside seating, but there are several umbrella covered tables. The ice cream is good, but the gelato simply cant be beat.

Very nice little ice cream shop. The ice cream was well... very creamy and very rich. I tried the Blueberry Rosewater and loved it. Also the Salted Carmel was very nice. Its pretty salty so you would need to be open minded about that. All in all tasty ice cream, there are some rather unique flavors on the menu. I will be back =)

Awesome and delicious ice cream. Line was about 15 minute wait on a Saturday night. Even though it was long, William the "MAN" behind the counter was fantastic. He didnt shy away from getting us as many samples and seemed genuinely happy working there. I have always loved the ice cream, but the service that night was SUPERB.

the go to walk up ice cream place. Lots of interesting flavors like coconut jalapeño and rosemary olive oil. i cant tell you how they taste though because I am OBSESSED with the salted caramel. Its the best I have every had-the right mix of salty and sweet. Go try it, it will change your reason for being.

Best ice cream joint in Atlanta, bar none. Really disappointed that they had to move out of Edgewood but am thankful to still have the original shop. My wife and I will make a hour long round trip out of our way for a bit of a brownie sundae from Morellis!

Seriously the best ice cream Ive ever had. Definitely worth waiting in line for. The flavors I keep coming back to are dark chocolate and the intelligentsia black cat espresso, but there are always some delicious seasonal/limited edition flavors to try
