The kid putting his gloved hand into the tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, on bread and other food has those same gloves rubbing his nose, repeatedly touching the filthy bill of his baseball hat, rubbing his dirty Tshirt, rubbing those gloves all along the counter, touching a knife handle...it was so disgusting I had to throw away more than half my $10.75 salad. When he put my chicken directly on the counter, the father picked up another piece for me as I told him not to put that on my plate. Had I known where those gloves had been, I would have walked out fast. When I tried to explain to the kid about this, he stuck his nose in the air and walked away from me. The father offered to throw out my meal, but did not give me any money back or offer to make me another plate. It would be to no avail since this same kid had his hands all over the lettuce, too. I will be calling the health department on them since the father also never bothered to correct his son or tell him to toss those nasty gloves!!!!

Called in to place a delivery order and the incompetent lady who took down my order, did not take down my name for the order nor provided me with a Total. She said "$15 something", total came out to be $16 and change. On top of that she asked me for my card number, expiration date, cvv and zip code of which you never ask to swipe a card ANYWHERE. Later comes to tell me she just write down the information in a paper and places the card information when the food is about to leave the store. So RED LIGHT RIGHT THERE, F R A U D. Then they get me a "manager" on the phone after leaving me on hold and not even pressing mute. They went ahead and said "thats her again" and the manager saying "yeah, whatever just tell her Ill call her back". Manager had no valid explanation as to why they have people credit card numbers written on papers with full information on the customer. Substantial, you have a lost a very loyal customer.

I just had a very unpleasant experience here. When we arrived we were slightly rushed and all our food was placed to go. No one told us but apparently they were about to close. When we asked for low-fat salad dressing options the man looked confused (we thought it was a salad place?). We decided to just eat outside. Once we get outside, we realize that we were not given any napkins and immediately when we walked out they had closed the door on us. The chicken on the salad was very very dry, but the Buffalo chicken sandwich was pretty tasty. However, we ended up finding a hair on what was already a pretty disappointed salad. Needless to say, we will not be back.

I used to go to Publix for for a Phili sub, but they switched over to cooking the meat in the oven instead of the grill and totally messed up the flavor of the sub. Since then I have been looking for something better locally and stumbled upon this place as I drove by. Cant believe I grew up in the area and never heard of them. I love their steak bomb with some cherry peppers poured on top. Really glad I found Substantial Subs and definitely do not miss Publix Philis at all.

I dont know what it is, but the subs here are the best ever!!! It is hand down my favorite place to get a sub. My husbands too! Plus, the service is always great, really friendly. My only complaint is that sometimes they are kinda busy and I have to wait to place my order! Oh, and the catering is outstanding too. Great prices and service. Great in a pinch!

The food is top quality! They use fresh beef and chicken and cook it in front of you. It takes longer, but it is well worth the wait because the sandwiches are fantastic! The menu is very extensive and diverse, only down side would be the appearance isnt up to the same quality as the food. Still a fantastic place to get a great sandwich!

Just happened to stop in the restaurant. I wasnt particularly hungry. I smelled the Cheese steak cooking. I ordered one with onions and mushrooms. It was awesome and ate the whole thing. The bread was great. The employees were friendly and helpful. I would recommend Substantial to anyone that loves subs. I will be back many times.

Food is ok but what really turned me off was the horrible customer service. They got my order to another customer and I had to wait again. The staff additives acted as if it was my fault that they got the orders wrong. Wouldnt come again.

This is probably the best sandwich place I have ever been to! It is so good and a great price! I highly recommend it! Personally I love the BLT and California Sub the best, but everything I have had so far there is great!

Decided to try this place out and was pleasantly surprised! Fresh ingredients, friendly people and tasty end product make this place a winner. Prices low as well. Extensive menu including breakfast. Will be going back.

The subs are great when theyre correct. But Ive ordered 8 times now and 7 out of the 8 times the subs came wrong. Doesnt matter if I use grub hub or call it in they just cant get it correct
