It breaks my heart to give this place a lower review. By far one of my favorite bars ever and brought countless out of town friends here. This past week was my birthday and my best friend from Boynton drove up so we could celebrate. Ive been in Vero for about one year exactly now while most of my friends and family live in Miami or West Palm area. With much confidence I brought her to The Kilted Mermaid with total belief shed fall in love. From the moment we walked in she was in love and originally we sat outside. Because Florida is Florida, in no time our legs were bitten up. Nothing to do with the place but we relocated inside. At this time the front dining hall was filling up because, it totally blew my mind that their "Beer School" was starting at any moment. We sat on the comfy couches which we ordered a few drinks and fondue that I raved about. Sitting on the lower couch theres few table space except a coffee table. There was no way for us to fit our food without getting up so we turned the table. A server came and acknowledge it and even commended it. Then, I believe an owner came with fury and passively aggressively moved a trunk closer to me shoving my purse as if I was some small child being disciplined. Then he muttered under his breath how he wouldnt be able to fit more customers now. Several times he came back and slightly shoved furniture around. This ruined the whole time though my friend and I were happy to be together anyways for my birthday. Yes the beer school was going on but I felt like a second class citizen.

I decided to try this place out based on all the positive reviews. When I first walked into the restaurant it seemed warm, comfortable, and friendly. I loved the décor. Upon taking a closer look, I realized it was actually quite dirty in there. I guess that’s why they keep the lights way down so nobody can notice the filth. The service was terrible. It took at least 20 minutes for the waitress to take our order. Once served, the food was cold and below par. The man walking around in the kilt is a complete idiot. I don’t know if he is the owner or the manger, but as I walked to the bathroom, I could see and hear him screaming at a waitress. She was crying. While I was in the back, I could swear I saw a rat. At that point, I told my boyfriend to please pay the bill so we could leave. Overall, I was very disappointed in the Kilted Mermaid. I had high hopes based on the reviews, but later I was told by a friend of a friend that the owner posts most of the positive review to bury the “real” negative reviews. My advice – stay away from this place.

.Amazing. If you appreciate a large selection of GREAT beer and wine AND people who are know what they are talking about when it comes to their product look no further. A full selection of beers on draft AND in the bottle; you will never be bored trying to find something new. The kitchen prepares fresh cheese and chocolate fondues as well as beautiful and delicious plates. My favorite is the kilted salad- Ive never had a salad that I love so much! Great live music and tricky trivia nights- dont think about passing this place up!

What a great local nightspot in downtown Vero Beach! The decor and atmosphere are fabulous and set a great mood for an evening out. The beer selection is wide and varied with several very nice unique brews. The staff is exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable about the wide selection of beer offered. Thursday night is great fun as they have trivia with great prizes! They have great live music as well. If you like eclectic and unique dining experiences I highly recommend stopping by this great little place!!

Great fondu and nice drink selection. Toilette and la petite toilette clean and fully functioning! Man in kilt (expert) agreed mermaid depicted on front sign is nippleless or else has small uncentered nipples in order for hair to cover nippleage. Navel is enflamed, presumably due to a regretfull piercing. Neither of these, even in combination, are dealbreakers to visit this fun place. Recommend trying all drinks available if you are having your vehicle "serviced"/ruined at convenient Firestone next door!

I went there today to scope it our for a date with my girlfriend the following evening. I used the restroom and was leaving when the owner followed me outside and told me to use the 7/11 next time. I said excuse me Sir, I explained to him I was checking out your restraunt for a possible date tomorrow. He told me to fuc* off. How rude. I think Ill take my business elsewhere. Thank God my kids werent with me. Id be on my way to jail for kicking his kilted as* back to Kibarchan.

We went their as a stop between Cape Canaveral and Delray Beach. Most of the beers my party asked for were sold out, but luckily, we found some we liked. I ordered the escargo and I found that delicious. Next came the fondue. I had to have a side of chicken and steak with it, since the only thing to dip was bread and some raw veggies. It was pretty good, but not as good as I expected. The overall experience was pretty good, but the food wasnt the best.

Great pub food menu that doesnt rely on burgers, rather tasty flatbread sandwiches, salads, fondues, combined with a beer n wine lovers label assortment second to none, including over a dozen craft brews on tap. Throw in funky eclectic live music n other amusements, surreal decor, a top notch staff that cares about their customers, knows their spirits. Good times, good vibes, like so many pubs of my youth not seen as much these days.

I stopped by this bar after dinner during a weekend visit to the Vero beach area. The place was packed and a live band was playing rock style music. The staff was very friendly. I didnt order any food because I had just had dinner but I ordered a drink called - mermaid mango -that was very good. We didnt stay very long but this place seemed like the only after hours place in the area.

We ate at the Kilted Mermaid for dinner on our trip to Disney’s Vero Beach Resort after receiving a number of recommendations. Although the venue was a bit small, it was unique and food/drinks were delicious (I ate the Kilted Cheesesteak!) and the staff were very friendly and accommodating!

The food choices! The beer choices! The atmosphere! It was so nice to have vegetarian options. The mushroom empenadas were excellent. They carry quite a few local craft beers, the orange blossom beer is very tasty. The vibe is mellow but the service is great. I will definitely be back!

Always enjoy visiting the Kilted Mermaid when Im in town. I was drawn here because of their great selection of craft beer. Now I enjoy it as much for the food & atmosphere. Fondue is always fun and theirs is delicious too. An eclectic spot in town. They have music several night too.
