While waiting for an order, multiple times there were visitors in the kitchen and one individual placed a cup and cell phone on the food prep surface. The kitchen staff were so busy socializing and making orders that they probably were not aware of the break in safety. As such, the rag used to clean off the food prep surface and the knives was never replaced after coming into contact with the area where these items were placed and the kitchen worker was unaware of what had occurred. Thankfully the manager I spoke with didnt become overly defensive when it was pointed out how the distractions led to a risk of customer safety. There are multiple ways to avoid cross contamination but it starts with awareness of risks. There is a lot of room for improvement, and a lot of risks that are allowed to persist. Hopefully this place doesnt get someone sick if they continue with their current practices which lead to a decrease in situational awareness. Very popular place, but eat at your own risk for now.

Dagwoods is the BEST sub shop I have ever been in. Not only is the food over the top delicious, but everything is fresh cut and freshly prepared for your sandwich. The full order of a sub or a salad is perfect if you want to eat lunch and then maybe have it for dinner or if you want you can take it to work/school for lunch the next day. They have a wide variety of subs with an even wider array of toppings. However, this shop would be nothing without the stellar owners and staff. They go above and beyond, yes they have the basic friendliness to customers down, but it is the fact that they make you feel like family, greet you by name when you walk in the door, and make more conversation than just taking your order. Dagwoods has become a home away from home for me, my friends say, "Hey, lets do lunch." My immediate response is, "Lets do a Dagwood!" In short, I absolute love Dagwoods and I would recommend them to anyone.

Why arent there 6 stars to rate Dagwoods??!!?? It is that GOOD! Been here a bunch already and Ive only lived in Vero a month. Dagwoods has amazing subs served up in a small, fun, and Very Clean little shop. The owners are passionate about using super fresh ingredients and it shows in the flavor of their food. The popularity of the place is making it a bit of a wait sometimes when it is busy, but its worth it. Get there after the noon rush for a relaxed meal. Very friendly service, youll feel welcomed right away. Dagwoods had better start looking for a bigger space with more room to prepare their subs! (Were gonna need a bigger boat!)

Guess Ill just have to send my wife to pick me up a sub. Having never been there until today I did not know anything about the the place except I have previously ate the subs my wife brought to me. No greeting, I sat at the bar for about 5-10 minutes one female was preparing subs while the guy entertained all the female customers. I sat and waited and realizing I was not going to be asked anything. I left. I wont be back. They may be satisfied with their current customer base and dont need new customers. At least at Jersey Mikes they have a sign that says "Order Here"!

I am from Jacksonville, FL and was in town for work. My co-worker found this place on Trip Adviser and decided to give them a try. Boy am I glad we tried it! Best sub I have had in a very long time. Not to mention the subs are huge with quality products on a in house baked sub roll. This is a small sub shop with a very friendly staff. If you are in the area you should make a trip there... Just make sure you are hungry and go early. We were there shortly after 11 am and soon after the line was out the door. Great job Dagwoods!

Just got the Italian sub from Dagwoods deli and I was very impressed. Even though the place was busy, the service was fast and great. They have a great selection of subs and I will definitely come back to try them. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys great subs.

Not only are the people there some of the friendliest people Ive ever met, but their subs are better than any Ive ever had. It was a nice, small, and friendly little sub shop. I feel like I left that place as if I just made a new friend and found my new favorite sub shop!

Dagwoods has easily become my favorite sandwich location. All the meats/breads are made in house and you can tell that its made with love. You can legitimately close your eyes and point at ANY menu item and not be dissapointed.

There are good shopa in town, even great shops, but none of them compare to dagwoods. Quality ingredients, massive portions, and just flat out delicious food! Never had a bad experience and Ive been going since they opened.

Took 45 minutes after I ordered to get my sub. After 30 minutes of waiting I asked if I missed my order. They said it will be out shortly. Watched as large groups who came in after me got their food after just 15 minutes.
