Is there anyway I can rate this lower than a one star?? We have been to the old place and new and were hoping some of the problems would be lost going to the new location. That was not to be... At the old place we figured out what servers to request and ones to avoid, however, the food was always inconsistent. One visit the food was good and on others it was terrible. Trying to get good service and a good meal proved vexing. Well, their move to the new place didnt change anything and as we lamented got even worse. Weve been to the new place at least a half dozen times and there is always issues. Service issues, food never being ordered or ordered out of sequence, ordering the wrong food, lack of attention and the list goes on. Quality of the food has been very inconsistent and communications to the servers and managers have fallen on deaf ears. Last night put us over the edge. We decided not to cook and do a take out order and wanted something simple. We ordered two burgers, one MR and one M with sides. They told us to pick it up in 20 minutes. I arrived right around the 20 minute mark and waited another 30 minutes plus before the order was ready. The one hostess claimed the kitchen was backed up, hmmm, sounded familiar. I finally asked another hostess (who was nice ) to check on our order, she bagged our order and off I went just wanting to get home and eat. Well, both burgers were RAW, not rare, not black and blue, RAW. I can eat a rare burger and this was a little much for me but my poor girlfriend couldnt even eat her meal. My potato salad had bites of potatoes that were mush, like they were rotten. I almost called the restaurant to voice my extreme displeasure but was reminded of previous managerial concern. After the MANY attempts to patronize this restaurant were done. When they lose enough patrons maybe theyll put new management in and have a change of ownership. But I doubt it....

Used to go at least once a week to the old one that they had in downtown Tierra Verde; used to be a nice place and good food. Now, theyve moved and tried to do it big, and totally destroyed a good thing. Fourth time weve been there, and the same poor service as the first time 4 months ago. Understaffed, and poor quality of help. Always waiting on service, and when you get it, they dont listen to your order and screw it up. Food quality was good for a change. Didnt have to send back an order for one reason or another like the last two times. On top of that, one of the owners (black hair and glasses), totally ignored us when we were standing at the front hostess stand, and walked away while we were waiting for a table! They seem to be totally mismanaged. Everyone running around with their hair on fire, or spending time talking to their buddies. Clueless...The place could be very nice if they got owners that knew how to properly manage a decent sized establlishment like what they built, and brought in quality servers. You cant cut corners on service quality and expect to make money. Very unfortunate. Were not going back.

4/8/2017 - sat at the outside bar for quicker service - but what a mistake that was - service was terrible - bartenders terrible - they never came by to ask how we were doing - need anything stuff like that - we could not even get a glass of water - we are locals and this restaurant was recommended by a friend - so we thought maybe we hit rush lunch time but looking around the bar there were open seats and so did the main dining floor - finally we got our food 50+ minutes later and it was totally cold so a manager came by and said he would re make our order which he did. The food was OK nothing worth recommending to friends - we tried to pay the bill but could not get the bartenders attention finally I had enough found a manager told her of the problems we had she offered to buy our drinks 4 draft beers - really - St.petersburg has so many other restaurants to offer I would not waste the drive to this place. Went here for the first time over the weekend. We were reluctantly on our way to Billys hoping our experience there would be better than the last. We saw the Island Grille on our way and decided to try that instead. We were seated outside. There was a one man band playing. A bit loud for us, as we like to have conversation without yelling. The waitress was very good, we never had to wait for her. Service and food all prompt. The food was decent. Portions were large. My only complaint was the Oysters Rockefeller plate. I bit into one and it was like the oyster shell was ground up and put in the spinach. I had to spit it out. Also they had a strange flavor to them. Unlike all the oysters rockefeller I have had at a million other places. The peel and eat shrimp was really good! I would go back again.

I almost hate to leave this review because we dont want everybody under the sun coming! (HA!) We just LOVE the new Island Grille & Raw Bar location. Our whole family loves it. Literally, the only restaurant that my baby (now 5 months old) loves to go to and smiles and dances the entire time. My older son (age 8) loves to play in the sand and run around as the sun goes down. Daddy and I love the food. We often only get time for appetizers and a drink (or two) and the staff has always gone above and beyond to be accommodating to us, even if we are in a hurry with baby! (BTW we are in love with all the appetizers. Weve yet to try one we dont love!) Cant praise this spot enough! (Just dont take my table please--ha!!)

I unfortunately have been unimpressed every time I order from this place. The atmosphere is good, the restaurant is new and nice, but the food lacks! I dont know what happened from the old restaurant to the new one, but the prices went up and the quality of the food went down. Whoever is cooking needs to take some serious culinary classes. I have ordered everything from breakfast, lunch and dinner and Im continually disappointed. I gave this place the benefit of the doubt thinking it was "growing pains" as they are in a new building with new staff, but after several months this local has decided to go else where, and its a shame...

Went twice in 1 week. First visit was outdoors with a 45 minute wait. Got over 20+ bites by no see ums and mosquitoes while outside and got attacked by 4-5 house flies while the 5 of us were eating outside. We asked the waitress if we could have the outdoor fans be moved so we could benefit from the airflow, but the poor waitress was scolded for moving the fan earlier. The grouper cheeks and queso appetizer as well as the group Reuben and sandwiches were delicious. Second dinner visit, our waiter was very absent and unattentive, the shrimp pasta dish didnt have many shrimp, but the cheeseburger and beer was delicious.
