THANK YOU ! I have lived in asheville since the seventies and i have came upon a place I never knew could be the real charm of Asheville . i ate on Saturday night with some buddies and we had a wonderful meal and enjoyed the company of others. it was like the whole bar welcomed you in not just the bar keepers and servers ... the food was great but above all the people and atmoshpere was superb! at age 76 it was nice to feel welcomed in a place full of younger folks ... i will make this my regular bar stop from now on ! and btw the best damn wings i have ever tasted and for the chef to come down and ask us if our food was ok ... wow you just dont see that anywhere else anymore . THANK YOU ! YOU MADE MY EVENING LIL BRIGHTER FOR BEING SO KIND ALAN

Going in around midnight shouldnt be a problem at a bar, but it sure seemed like a huge hassle for these cranky ladies. Service was poor, even though we were at the bar. Didnt see a smile on a single employee. Very glad we didnt order food. Not to mention, when one of their regulars started hitting on one of the girls in our party, and her boyfriend asked him to stop (after which the regular tried to start a fight), they kicked my entire party out, and did nothing to the actual offender. So unless youre a regular, dont go if you want anything remotely resembling decent service. Never returning.

Arrived around 7:30 on a Tuesday night...pretty much ignored by everyone who worked there. We went to one of the circular tables up front, sat for a while - no menus, no drink orders - two waitresses saw us there, but were sitting outside busy having a smoke. After it became apparent that no one at the Charlotte Street Grill & Pub had any interest in greeting or serving us, we just got up and left...needless to say, no one who worked there cared. There are too many terrific places to enjoy in Asheville...this place is definitely not one of them.

Our server was excellent, but our food too for-ev-er and it wasnt that great. The staff doesnt communicate well, evidenced by the fact that the lights in our room were brightened and darkened three times before some other patrons thought it was a fun joke to keep doing it to see what our server would do. Seriously though, the server was awesome, the Steak and Frites was good, the Black Bean cakes were good, but the Black and Bleu burger was unflattering. I guess having to wait so long for food can make it seem worse than it is.

My girlfriend and I ducked into this bar on our way out of town one evening and we were sorely disappointed. Serice was definitely on the slow side and the food was less than mediocre. I had a ruben and she had a burger, these are pretty basic food items for a bar. The bar was not busy, just a few regulars and it took a ridiculous amount of time to get our food. Once we got it the ruben was so cold the cheese had congealed and the burger was not much better. I definitely wont be going back, dont waste your time or money.

Im going to give it a 3 star rating because the food was good the service was great and the prices was decent but it will not get 5 stars because a customer brought a dog in the bar and the bartender and waitress was touching and rubbing the dog and never washed their hands... she even gave the dog water and let it drink off the bar... thats horrible

So if youre looking for high end environment and super attentive service, this is not a bar for you, but if you like it dark, quiet and not too crowded this is the place. Darts and pool in separate rooms away from the bar with plenty of space to keep the noise down. Food is good and the prices are reasonable. Definitely would go back again.

Drinks are always amazing and the food is as well!!! The wings are sooo bomb also is dimly lit very romantic historic look in the front then pool tables and darts in the back. I love this place the service is amazing as well always friendly and quick they make u feel very comfortable like ur at home

Charlotte Street has always been a favorite of mine. Great drinks and food combined with a staff that are professional and very outgoing. The cozy atmosphere, outdoor seating, and pool and darts make it a great destination for any mood youre in.

I live close, so want to like this place, but every time I go I am reminded that the food is not good and the service is bad. The food is not worth what you pay for it. If you are not a regular then you are ignored.

Great place for lunch or late night recovery. Huge bar. Good bar tenders and delicious food. The place has an old feel to it and it gets pretty crowded on the weekends.

Generous food portions, friendly staff, fine liquor and beer choices. If theres a drawback, its how this bar is the watering hole of choice for employees of a nearby hotel.

Excellent sandwich. Chef made a fried shrimp po boy with on-point remoulade sauce. Fries were great also....no "nubs"....quality. Highly recommend you eat here.
