This place is trash, disgusting. So many bad things to say about this place. Employees are first day on the job most of the time. Kitchen is so small that no one can work. Drive thru gets priority in a very lop sided way. Usually 3-4 drive thrus for each counter order. Dining area, for lack of a better term, lacks all of the essentials like salt pepper ketchup napkins, soda refills. One person at the counter is just stupid. Tables are always dirty. Concrete walkways are not level, no music, no tv. Line at counter blocks the door so people cant come in or leave. Garbage is usually full. Mens bathroom door has been broke for at least a year. As soon as someone leaves the mens room the door locks by itself, requiring an employee to come with a key to unlock it. This door locks every single time someone uses it. Bathrooms are scary. If that mens room door isnt fixed soon, I will call code enforcement and health department. This place looks like it hasnt had a visit from either in a long time. Bottom line, you need to scrap the building, double the size at minimum and update everything. Remodeling would be a stupid idea. Bull doze it and start from scratch. As a young kid my grandfather use to take me to Checkers after a hard days work. I treasure this every time I see a Checkers. I brag to all of my friends about how checkers is. I spent 10yrs in the Marine Corps and where I was stationed we didnt have the opportunity to eat at one. Coming home and moving to my new house I realized that there was a #Checkers right near my house. There food and my experiences there was absolutely atrocious. I first asked for a caramel cheesecake crunch (a sundae drink thing). He replied we dont have the caramel, is that ok? I said no thank you and ordered a big chicken sandwich meal and a cheeseburger meal, and fries. The food specialist hands me two beverages and as I grab them, I discover that the drinks are warm (its 101 outside). The drinks had no ice. I get home and devour the fries (checkers fries are amazing), the chicken sandwich almost made me throw up. 480 E Burleigh Blvd, Tavares, FL 32778 was the store, I hope that corporate can fix these issues so I can once again enjoy my childhood food!

Went into the lobby with my nine-year-old daughter to order some fast food. It was over 12 minutes before anyone even acknowledged our presence in the lobby and I would have left if she wasnt hooked on the funnel fries there. Took us about another 6 minutes just to order when we were finally helped because they couldnt figure out how to substitute funnel fries for regular fries. A $2 box turned into an $8 box LOL, and then there was a further 15 minute wait while they apparently handed our food to other people and forgot what we had ordered and that we were even there until we were asked again what we were waiting for. Ended up getting cold chicken, hot fries, and a fish sandwich nobody wanted somehow. Lobby is full of three separate leaks from the roof, employees are uncaring of customer service and of how they present themselves. Sad management skills obviously to blame, only if youre desperate and only drive-thru!

Dec. 23, 2016 Store# 6324 I have never been in a place as bad as this! The tables are dirty, the floors are dirty and the kitchen doesnt look any better. Stood at counter a while before anyone even acknowledged us. Waited to long for food then it was barely warm. Some man tried to use the restroom and the door was locked. Later a different man tried to use the restroom and when he found the door locked he went into the ladies room. A female employee found the man in there after using her key to get in and acted all up set. Another female employee used her key to unlock the ladies room and she went in. After she came out she saw the garbage was over flowing and stuck her hand in the trash can and pushed the trash down THEN continued on back into the kitchen. Something tells me she didnt wash her hands before returning back to prepare food !!!! I will NOT be back in there. Dec.23, 2016 Store# 6324

This was a horrible experience The food was not good They messed up our order and the staff was HORRIBLE We went through the drive through and no one would take our order but cars on the other drive through were getting their orders taken. So we drive up to the main window thinking it might be broken or something. After awhile (too long time) an employee opens the window and we explain the situation staying that we saw the other side working. The employee responded that they were short staffed and only using one drive through side and if we were smart we should have gone to the other side. We said that there was no sign of anything indicating that that was the case. Then she just slammed the window shut on us. So we parked and asked to speak to the manager who didnt do anything or give us free food or coupon or anything and was rude to us as well. Will never return

Terrible customer service and food is disgusting. Ive never been tested with such disrespect by a cashier then another lady. Aline was the cashier and was talking about me through the window.I was with my 3 young girls. They heard them talking about me and then giving ne tohe wrong food and telling me I had an attitude. It was clear they were picking on me for some reason. I wanted to rip their hair out. Fake eyelashes and all but I have kids. The food.. hard greasy chicken sandwiches.. I have pics we couldnt eat them. Fries always greasy but.. average. The funnel cakes were dark brown and nasty so greasy. I will never ever return. I have been there several times. I have never had any problems. These ladies had a problem and i cant get over the food. I called corporate immediately.

I gave the Tavares Checkers a 1 star review only because it wouldnt let me review without at least 1 !! We walked in the counter guy had his back to the counter playing on his phone... We stood there for a bit and finally had to call to him to get his attention.. He never said thank you or was warm in his greeting in any kind of way.... Very unprofessional...We ordered 2 chili dogs w/ cheese.. only1 had cheese.. They were disgusting, just thrown into the containers... The store was 90 degrees, dirty and no reason for the filth... " You have time to lean, you have time to clean!!!

Checkers isnt really known for being fresh... but I can honestly say, this particular checkers offers the BEST food I have ever had at a checkers resturant. Service is quick, and everything smelled and tastes great. THERE WAS EVEN NAPKINS IN THE BAG?!?!? Seriously, the GM needs to be praised for making this location the best checkers I have ever been too! (Been to multiple locations inside of Florida) Will definitely travel too eat at this resturant from now on.

Only reason i put a one star is i was a customer standing at the counter listening to Management cursing at their employees! Stood there for about 3 mins while she reemed out every Employee in the building... Im a business owner myself and thats not the way to get anything done! If you feel you need to get on to an employee do it in private... That was very disgusting in every stand point.... They need to get theyre Management under control
