I am originally from Ireland. Those of you from Ireland or England know that many of the foods are similar. The town where I grew up in Ireland had one of the best fish and chips shops in the south east of Ireland. Now I live in Florida, I have tried fish and chips at virtually every restaurant and take away I can find in my area. Most of them dont even come close until I found Proper Pie. Although it is called Proper Pie it does serve fish and chips. I actually normally get the battered sausages and chips. They are cooked fresh, as you wait so it will take a few minutes. This is the closest food I have found to match the food from back home. They of course have a selection of home made pies, many of which I have tried and give a big thumbs up. They also have a selection of grocery store items from the UK for purchase if your heart desires. Mainly the staple foods, sweets (candy) and a couple of drinks. The owner and his staff are down to earth and friendly and the food is authentic and will fill and empty stomach. I am glad we found Proper Pie.

The Proper Pie catered my daughters first birthday party for 50 to 60 people. I cannot say enough good things about them. Derek was great about staying in contact throughout the planning process, gave his honest opinion and advice, and quoted us something that was absolutely reasonable. They came to the venue about two hours before the event started, set up, prepared food that needed to be prepared and warmed, and made everything look perfect for the royal tea party. He suggested we set up for proper tea for 12, which worked out wonderfully. It was gorgeous and everyone commented on how perfect it was. They served throughout the party and cleaned up everything, staying longer than they needed to and helping out. Like I said, I cant say enough good things about Derek and the ProperPie and would absolutely recommend them for afternoon Tea or catering a fancy event! Thank you guys so much! You truly made my daughters First Royal Tea Party perfect!

My wife and I were really wanting to try this place for awhile now, she called it in and the gentleman who answered was super friendly and helpful. He took the order but made it fresh in front of my wife when she arrived. She said the place smelled amazing! By the time she got home the food was still hot. This place truly is a hidden gem, the fish and chips were incredible, and the cheese potatoe and onion roll did not disappoint. To top it off we got a steak and potatoe pie with guiness pie to try, and it was so flaky and full of flavor, and not to mention full of meat. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone. keep up the good work.

Having lived in the area for over a year, I was surprised that I had never heard of this place and very glad to have found it. Its tucked around the corner a bit on the north side of the vacant looking building and easy to miss. The pies here are a good size, generously filled and very tasty. Price is reasonable and good looking but as yet untested British style bangers, sausage rolls, Cornish pasties and fruit pies area available too. Website not working when I last looked but they are still operating. Closed Sat/Sun and Often Monday. Ill be back.

I have been here twice for take-out and gotten haddock & chips, cod & chips, scotch egg, steak & guinness pie, chicken curry pie & tried some grocery items. Everything Ive had so far has been Amazingly good! All fresh, cooked to perfection, not greasy, reheats very well & Ive received very friendly service at the counter. Ive tried the other fish & chip shops in the area & recommend this one out of all of them!!

We had two pies and two Ben Shaws sodas. The beef & mushroom was loaded with perfectly-cooked beef and the chicken curry included large chunks of white meat chicken and a flavorful but not overpowering sauce. The men working were affable and gracious for our business. We wish we had more appetite to have had some dessert as well. Were locals so well be back!

I go there on a regular basis, not only do they sell fabulous pies, btu they also have a lot of British groceries at reasonable prices. I was so happy to find this place because now I can always get a little taste of home! Id also like to add that staff are wonderful and extremely friendly, I couldnt recommend them more strongly.

This place serves homemade sweet and savory pies that are DELICIOUS. The chefs are the owners, and you can tell they put all their hard work and talents into creating good quality products. They have a wide variety of imported goods, including curry pastes, sweets, and chips! Try the fish and chips, you wont be dissapointed!

We purchased $75 worth of pies and other items. The Steak and Guinness along with Chicken and Mushroom pies are realllllllly good. Much better than pot pies in the grocery store. The Scotch Eggs where a bit dry but still very good, 3 star. The place has good service and good food. Well worth a stop and try.

I pick-up a few pies just about every Saturday from the Neptune Beach Farmers Market outside of Jacksonville. They are soooo good! Also, it really is a lot of food, so one pie will make 2 meals easily! My husband loves the BBQ Pork and the Chicken Curry is my favorite.

I bought a Cornish pasty for me and a Guinness and steak our for my boyfriend. Carried them out, warmed them up at home. We both agreed they were baller. That pasty was just about the best thing Ive ever tasted. We will definitely be back!
