Saddest Greek food Ive ever had. Im Greek, I grew up on this food, I feel like I know what it should taste like. There was no flavor to anything. I couldnt even find a hint of nutmeg in the pastitso, the mousaka was a semi cold and slimy clump that didnt taste like anything, rice was completely plain, the grape leaves tasted like dirt and the meat was just plain meat -- no mint, lemon or discernible seasoning and they were poorly wrapped, they were mostly just like a clump of meat with a leaf on it. The lamb meat was sufficiently portioned but served at an in between temperature. Not exactly hot and not exactly cold. The soup was chicken lemon rice with emphasis on the lemon. The lemon potatoes were just boiled plain potatoes with some butter and lemon on them. After how they were talked up we expected some kind of presented potato dish that was to die for. Not so much. What?! Definitely not worth the $60 plus tip we paid. The saganaki and bread were the best thing we had but its cheese thats lit on fire so, hard to mess up the recipe. Wish we would have eaten somewhere that had a crowd. We picked this place because we were starving and it was quiet and now we know why. Really underwhelming and disappointing. Also, they could rinse their glasses better -- water shouldnt taste like dish soap. Sorry, I know its a popular place but it wasnt like any Greek food Ive ever had.

Whenever were in Tarpon Springs, we eat at Mykonos, buy feta at the Deli on Main St and shop some antiques. This will be the most authentic Greek experience, best food, best service you could experience in the US. I just dont know how to describe this wonderful restaurant painted in blue and white. Usually theres a line, but we were early and were seated. A great waitress helped us and she was busy, but still delightful (I should get her name). I ordered a greek white wine, grilled seafood (shrimp, & octopus), spinach pie, & Greek salad. Dont forget the delicious bread dipped in olive oil. Just doesnt get any better. Hands down, just try Mykonos for your favorite Greek food and you wont be disappointed. I have tried a few other restaurants in Tarpon Springs, not all, to be fair. But, I keep comparing everything to Mykonos, and Im usually disappointed at another restaurant. Please believe me guys, its not fancy, clean for sure, and a little quaint. We were seated by a window, it was cool so it was open, and we could see the street, the boats on the dock, a cool breeze blew in, then the good food arrived. I just cant explain it any better. Judge for yourself. Did I mention the Deli? They also recommended Mykonos, but gotta go to the Deli and Stock up!

So there was a couple, two friends, a family of maybe a half dozen and myself inside Mykonos and that was it. I was given bread and water with lemon - no straw - and that was it for the next 20 minutes. No joke, 20 minutes. I know this from looking at my phone. The couple was served an appetizer and the family didnt even have menus! The two friends were finishing up and chatting as I walked in, so I think they had a good experience. I say this since I have been to Mykonos before, and I liked it. I have been to Dimitris on the water too and its nice. Anyway, a guy from the family of about half dozen finally got up and asked for service and I got the attention of another server and asked how much I owed for the bread and water. She said nothing and I got out of there as fast as I could. I knew Dimitris has some kind of connection with Mykonos so I didnt go in there, or any of the Greek places. I went to an Italian place not far off. I didnt want to fork over any of my money or waste anymore of my time at an outfit that may make whoever owns Mykonos and Dimitris on the water money. Im not going back to Mykonos probably ever, and just out of anger Im staying away from Dimitris too. You guys dropped the ball today.

Third time at this restaurant, the food is excellent and was all three times. However the service falls short. Servers are rude, and youll be waiting a long g time before anyone gets to you or brings any beverages. I wont go back, not because of the food but because of the FILTH in this restaurant. The bathrooms both woman and mens are filthy. My wife visited the womans and said the smell was strong as was the mens room. Not to mention the walls, floor and door handles were visibly dirty to where you wouldnt want to touch them. Our menus actually stuck to the table. You can scrap the build up on the table off with your fingernail thats how bad it is. It is surprising that the owner of the restaurant is there every day and doesnt do something about the visible dust and dirt and on the walls ceiling ceiling fans and about. I wouldnt be surprised that a visit from a health inspector from the state or city would shut them down temporarily until the place is cleaned up.

Absolutely terrible. We walked in, and got seated and were there for close to 20 minutes without anybody speaking to us or acknowledging that we were there. When we asked what looked like the manager, if we could get some service, she rudely replied "One minute". On top of that, there was a server smoking a cigarette while pouring drinks, and there was an employee pushing his way through the restaurant with a cart of ice and tried squeezing by our table without saying a word and pushing tables and chairs out of the way with the cart, and when he gave the manager a paper that looked liked a receipt, she calmly shoved it in her bra in front of all the customers and just kept working, so we got up and left. And of course we will never come back.

We ate here thinking it would be good considering the busy atmosphere and close proximity to the water. But we were very wrong. Firstly, the waitresses are very rude. You feel very rushed to get in and out of their way. Secondly, it is very crammed inside the restaurant. There are lots of flies and the bathrooms were dirty. However, their appetizer bread was good, but that was all. My meal was mushy and cold. My husbands meal (calamari) was just as bad, but consisted of full squids (heads and tentacles and all) in a unappetizing soup. It was so terrible that we didnt finish our plates and left still hungry. I would highly recommend not going to this place. There are a hundred other Greek restaurants down the road for half the cost.

Every time we come to Tarpon Springs our first restaurant to visit is Mykonos ! Never again !! While our food was ok,the place was not clean. The waitress was rude and not around. The bus girl was the only one that gave us the time of day. They only care about the locals more, all customers should be treated alike. The cooks and waitresses were too busy talking to each other than paying attention to the customers. The waitress even had the nerve to say"LET THEM WAIT"when she was asked to seat us and at least two more parties that were waiting to be seated.Go to COSTAS!!! The food there was great and the service EXCELLENT !!
