Totally uncomfortable experience. It was my first time at the Grind and it was quite an eye opening experience. We walked in and sat at the bar literally right next to the register. Whomever the lady was at the bar indicated that we needed to place our order at the register. What??? Like it was a foot away. Is it really too much to place my order while I am sitting next to the register??? Anyway, my colleague and I placed our order at the register and sat back at the stools at the bar. It was a cold day today and they had the walk up window open which was blowing in cold air. I asked politely if they could close the window and with a dirty look and reluctant attitude they did. I certainly felt uncomfortable after that. So I felt that it would be better if we sat at a booth. So we moved to the booth. When the food was ready the lady at the counter (lets call her no time for you Nancy) came out with our food. Immediately my colleague saw here and politely raised her hand and said we are here and explained that we decided to sit a a booth which was not available when we walked in. No time for you Nance then walked over with our food, did not even acknowledged what my colleague said and without saying anything placed our dished on the table and walked away basically making us feel as though we were an extreme bother to her for having to walk over to the booth to deliver our food which was only 6 feet away. I ordered the Waldorf salad which I though looked delicious until I saw the dressing which was the consistency of tooth paste???? I went ahead and added it to my salad but it was quite difficult to mix it in with all the spinach and toppings because of its consistency. Out of curiosity I approached the bar again and as politely as I could I asked about the dressing. No time for you Nancy looked at me like I was an idiot and said well thats the way its supposed to look its a cranberry dressing. Well excuse me if I never saw dressing that thick before, I thought. Uncomfortable I accepted her response, thanked her and sat back down. I then ate my salad and left as quickly as I could. I gave this place a 2 star rating because the salad was actually good but the customer service was a negative 1. I have never felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant before.

My first time there I go in because I got a notice in the mail about the breakfast spot so I decided to stop by. The place is nicely decked out and the decor looks very "chill". I go ahead and sit at the bar and pick up a menu, after waiting 10 mins for someone to come and ask me if I want something, I finally lean over and ask where can I order? They point me across to the machine next to open fridge area. No big deal but I wish I would of known instead of sitting there waiting like a bum. Next, I order the 2 eggs and bacon with potatoes breakfast and a fresh squeezed OJ. As Im waiting for my food I notice that the person who was squeezing the juice for my OJ was complaining about people who order the fresh squeezed OJ. Im honestly not a picky eater but dont offer something on the menu that you dont necessarily want to provide. It just makes zero sense. But anyways, I get my almost raw bacon and burnt potatoes with the yolkiest eggs Ive ever ate in my life. But I drowned the food in the ketchup that I had to ask for because nothing was offered to me and then completely put my pride aside and didnt ask for anything else. I even had to ask the guy next to me for napkins even though he doesnt work there. Overall it was a bad experience. It felt like I was wasting their time for just being in their presence and thats not the feedback most restaurants would want from their paying customers. The girl with the glasses was cool though but unfortunately did not know what time the place closes at. But regardless of everything its just another place that I learned my lesson not to go back to. Thanks for the coffee stained counter that stained my shirt by the way. Lol I really appreciate that added touch. - Jose

This is the Breakfast & Breakfast place I have been dying for since we moved here!!!! It was a quaint little coffee shop. We had really great, friendly & personable service - wonderful people. My husband got the breakfast burrito and I had an awesomely fluffy croissant that my scrumptious egg sandwich was on, although dissapointingly it doesnt come with any sides... I went for the regular, straight up vegetarian (egg, tomato, spinach + cheddar) version for around 425 pennies, but you can make it a carnivorous breakky if you want to add meat for an up-charge. I chose to add on a side of roasted potatoes, and by golly I sure am glad I did.... holy...crap.. so good.. the herbs & seasoning...YAAHMM! I washed it all down with a perfectly hot mocha, and really enjoyed it... my husbands drip coffee wasnt his favorite though, and unfortunately their lack of a coffee good enough to keep him coming back is what holds us off from coming more than just every once in a while, which I am sad to say. Coffee dates are just that, dates with the two of us so we like to go where we both enjoy. I fear we will be here less in the coming months as we are moving closer to St. Pete, and this will simply be too far for us... As you can see from my photos the ambiance and style was a sophisticated cozy and quite lovely. It sounded like Bon Iver and other quirky-awesome coffee house indie jams. Loved. It. Food, ambiance, people, service, AWESOME!! NEW FAVORITE! We will be back (but always before 4p! which sucks for a night-owl like me.. they close too early) until we move away, and we are telling our friends!

Ive been coming here since we moved down in 2014. Consistency in their offerings and the friendly staff have been the main selling points. The breakfast and lunch offerings are always very well prepared and reasonably priced. I included a picture of the breakfast dish I had today: Reggies Country Skillet. Its a weekend special so it isnt offered all the time. A little steep at $14.50 but well worth it! The baked goods need a little work though, usually dry and lacking a good amount of the advertised flavors; hence 4 stars instead of 5. They are all baked In house which is nice but I can get past the dry bland taste. My suggestion here, if theyre getting these comments often, would be to run some taste testing with focus groups to help improve the items being sold. There are also two very good bake shops in West Park Village they could partner with and still offer a high quality product. The coffee drinks are also very good and there are quite a few selections. They have a nice display board that easily explains the different types of hot coffee drinks. They also have a very good cold brew. If youre going for a hot coffee and you have the time, Id recommend trying the siphon coffee. Its an interesting process to watch and yields a nice, lightly flavored cup. Overall, I love this place - the atmosphere is nice, the food is great, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Thats a good recipe for my return business (pun intended).
