Very disappointed in my experience at Green Iguana today. The main reason I am ever reluctant to stop by Green Iguana is due to the cigarette smoke. My husband wanted a burger and Green Iguana has some of the best in the bay. Unfortunately, today, we had a very negative encounter which may result in the final visit. A woman sat at the end of the bar, near the table that we were sitting at on the patio, and smoked (in about 30 minutes) 6 cigarettes. We told the server that we were uncomfortable and asked the server to turn on the larger fans to help redirect the poisonous smoke from our area, but she recommended against it since the fans would produce cold air. So, we ate with cigarette smoke blowing in our faces. A large party with three children showed up during this time and sat near us. The children and mother immediately began to complain about the cigarette smoke but nothing was done about it. A member of my party asked the woman at the bar to stop smoking as the smell was horrible and explained that the two tables around her did not want to smell it. Her response was "Im at the bar, I can smoke and I was here before the kids." The bartender actually BACKED THE SMOKER UP by stating "Im sorry, this IS a bar, people should expect smoking." This is one of the few RESTAURANTS in Tampa Bay that enables people to smoke in the dining area (the patio) and (although) smoking isnt "technically" allowed beyond the glass door, people still walk in with cigarettes. I dont smoke, (never will) and I do not feel that anyone should have to encounter this nasty habit or breathe the chemically filled air that smokers produce ESPECIALLY IN A DINING SCENARIO. This restaurant is not a family friendly location. If youre looking for clean air - DO NOT GO TO GREEN IGUANA. Owners should consider the customers that they are losing as a result of their smoking rules - WE DESERVE CLEAN AIR.

Tampa Airport Green Iguana rips you off. Was awaiting a flight with husband and other couple decided to eat there. Watch out for Shaun, the bartender!! Totally cool guy, nice, you think hes your friend...but beware. After giving us our menus he asked us what we would like to order, but we asked him to give us another minute to decide. He says,"thats cool, how about I start you guys off with some chips and queso while you take your time deciding?" ummm okay, sure...in my head I thought, "cool, free chips and dip." (they were delicious btw) Well at the end of our meal he sticks us for $8 for them. My husband politely calls him out on it and lets him know that the way he presented the offer sounded as if they were complimentary, we thought they were free. Shauns answer "nothing at the airport is free". Just plain shady...Didnt have time to talk to manager, had to catch a flight...Diner beware!

No signs when you walk in either entrance and nobody offered to seat us and none of the wait staff even bothered to look at us or smile at us, we had to seat ourselves. Then the table that was said at had the check for the previous guests and the waitress came to take the checkbook and didnt say "someone will be right with you" or "hello". It was a little bit disappointing took about six to seven minutes before someone showed up at our table. Quesadillas were amazing and flavorful. Spinach and artichoke dip were disappointing. Drinks were good. Love the swings at the bar. Cool idea. Didnt get to try tho. Occupied all night. A band set up somewhere around 9:30 p.m. but was way too loud so we decided to go somewhere else. The output from the speakers was just a little bit too loud.

Mediocre to say the least. Ordered a med rare burger came out well. Sent it back. The burger then came out so rare the bun was soaked in blood. Told them never mind. Ordered a pasta instead but ended up not even eating because by the time the rest of my table had be done eating for at least 20 minutes. Then was charged full price for the meal after not even eating. Had to request the manager to even come to the table.

Its a bar, if you need an excuse to drink why not pick a place with a giant plastic iguana on the roof. The theme is only external, once inside its just a regular bar. Theres nothing even mildly tropical going on inside. The service sucks. Its in the middle of a residential neighborhood. The bartenders do not know when to cut someone off. Get ready to watch someone defecate in the parking lot. Just horrible.

10/26/2015 5:50pm I have been waiting on the outside patio for 15min with no one approaching me I get up go to the bar and have to ask them for service. Then I order southwest egg rolls and a shrimp martini both dishes take 10 minutes to make. It is now 6:42pm and I just received my order WTF and there is only 7 people here. Terrible service I would not invest in this at all.

The food Ive had here has ranged from excellent to terrible, who uses spicy sausage in meatloaf? That was so awful I threw it away! The MOJO sliders and Cuban sandwich are both excellent. However getting them to answer the phone after 8 pm on Fri or sat to place a to go order is not going to happen. And they do not have a way to place your order online. Mediocre at best.

I wouldnt even have given it one star but I had to, to be able to write a review. Just sat and waited for someone to come to out table to order and after 10 minutes NO ONE came. Bartender at the other end of the bar socializing. No waitress to be seen. Will never go here-was our first time and I will let everyone I know, know not to go there.

Horrible Experience. I paid $13 dollars for a Hennessy and Redbull. I know Hennessy is Top shelf but my entire drink was Redbull and the long curly hair bartender gave me nothing but Redbull.. I dont mind paying for drinks, but I payed for nothing. She never even checked back to see if I wanted another. Im not coming back here again.

The food is great, especially the burgers! Ziggy fries are a must. Boneless wings are some of the best around! Downside is sometimes when they have live music it gets a little loud inside, and outside allows smoking which isnt very pleasant for us nonsmokers. The servers are nice and very attentive. Overall a great spot and decent prices.

I live pretty close to the Green Iguana and I love their food, unfortunately though every time Ive ordered takeout its been undercooked or my order has just been completely wrong. If you plan on eating here definitely dine in as the food is delicious when they know you will have the option of sending it back to the kitchen.

Visited Green Iguana with a local friend who recommended it. Food was excellent. Great atmosphere. Bartender was great. Live music on a Tuesday night (Mixed Nuts) was excellent! Only negatice was that our waiter was overworked or busy and service wasnt as good as my friend says it usually is. Highly recommended!
