Ive been going here for a few years now and love their dinner for two meal even though its gone up in price a bit over the years, it still leaves you feeling very full with plenty to take home. Their dishes have lovely rich textures and taste extremely fresh. I particularly adore their rice as it has the right amount of herbs and seasoning to make it a fragrant and delightful addition to their main courses. Extra rice is available at no charge if you run out as well, you just have to ask. The lunch buffet is wonderful as well and they do change out some dishes depending on which day of the week you go. My only gripe about the lunch buffet is I wish they offered their soups on the buffet line as well. I see so many people complaining about the service being so horrible. Ive never had horrible service there, and that was well before I became a "regular" that they recognize now. People need to understand that not everyone is going to have the bubbly white bread personality of someone working at a place like an Applebees. Ive seen so many people think the waiter is being rude when in fact they are just being professional instead of "being your friend". It never hurts to talk a little to your server either - just an FYI for any dine-in experience. Great place, great people, and they will have my business as long as I live in Tampa.

The food was OK. Nothing special. The afternoon buffet consists of the regular Indian food - one naan, two veg curries, two chicken curries, one side item, one dessert - no single item stood out. And they hardly change the items. The service was good. But beware, do not go there on sundays. We absolutely got ripped. They charge something like 14$ for a buffet and the reason - two additional non veg items - mutton biryani and a chicken curry! Both of them were very average and for the vegetarians like me, you are paying the high price for nothing!!! I thougt of demanding a refund but then gave up....

If this place goes out of business it will be because there is no good customer service in here and the owner doesnt take the time to listen to his customers and when you request something from here you wont always get it . The owner is passive aggressive when I request something and he was like oh theyre all the same but they are not all the same . Dont worry I wont be coming back anymore and when you go all business I will be extremely happy Because you dont treat customers like that . Used to be good but not anymore. This place was great before they changed owners .

When we arrived we were greated at the door and sat down by the waiter. This restaurant was recommended by a friend of ours so we thought we would give it a try. Boy, the Tuesday night Vegetarian Buffet was great and tasted excellent. Place was relatively clean and the waiter & waitress were properly clothed and clean. The place was not crowded because the night we went was veterans day so we expected low volumn there. The food was spiced just right and was fresh.I would recommed this restaurant to anyone who likes Indian Cuisine like I do. This was posted Nov. 13, 2008.

I have been searching for an Indian restaurant in tampa that is 1/2 as good as 1st ave in New York. This one is, what it lacks in decor it more than makes up for with the delicious food. I was thoroughly impressed with the food and the service was great. Dont go there if you are in a hurry, it isnt the kind of place that shuffles you in and out. The reviews that say they are rude are just mistaken, the people are quite friendly if you are friendly to them. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for something different!!!!

****CLOSED**** Will be reopening as Indian Cuisine in the near future************* Food here is pretty darn good matter of fact really close to excellent. I usually always get the butter chicken and it is so heavenly. My wife and I have been there about 50 times and on some occasions they have a consistency issue but not that often. The food here is one of the best Indian cuisine places Ive been to in Tampa. Know the service is usually okay/good but not excellent. You will enjoy this place.

I personally found the food good though my friend accompanying me did not like the Biryani. One thing I hated was the GRATUITY (aka TIPS)!!!! This is ridiculous...client decides the gratuity not the restaurant owner...correct?? Service is kind of okay....it was closing time and the manager was roaming around our table...you know what it means ;). Indian thing right? By the way I am Indian too so nothing racist about these comments.

I never eat at home, so I hope I have some credibility when I say this place is amazing. The service is not bad at all like some people are saying. It is just part of their culture that theyre not bubbly southerners. Theyll make the food as hot or as mild as you like, and I never have to flag someone down for a drink refill. We drive an hour to come here--and pretty frequently at that. Try a makhanwalla... chicken or veggie.

1 star because there is no 0 star. Food was dry. American people dont understand how Indian food is made. This food is all cooked earlier in the day and they add spices to food based on order hotness. As for freshness, the food appears to be weeks old. Its stale. I do not understand why this place has great reviews. There are many other Indian restaurants to dine. Recommend you try several Indian restaurants on Fowler Ave.

As an expat from the UK who adores curry, Bombay Masala rivals any Indian Restaurant that I have tried in the US. The food was awesome, the staff were very nice also. Glad that I just went and tried it instead of reading most of these inaccurate reviews. My fiancee and I will be going back there again shortly. Congrats Bombay Masala - keep up the great work!! Top notch local restaurant with classic food.

The food is very poor and not up to the mark. I had ordered a chicken biriyani and got chicken biriyani with peas and beans in it(off course it had pieces of chicken to say chicken biriyani), then i came to know it was veg biriyani with chicken pieces added to it. Really horrible. The food they gave was old, I believe they gave a food which was left over in the afternoon buffet

Food was good but there was no service beginning to end. Next time I go I will know what to do but I sat for teen minutes till I got up to ask for a menu. The buffet wasnt listed so I got up again to ask the coat of the buffet. I got my own water and got up to ask for a tea. Good food but strange if you expect a waiter. Im still waiting for my tea lol.

Today had the worst experience of my life. I request everybody to plz give this restaurant a skip. The food was cold and tasted bad. The waiter asked me not to put the curies in the bowl as the bowls were for the desert. I think thats not a good way to treat a customer. I am really upset. Wasted my 13 bucks !!!! THIS PLACE SUCKS !!!!
