Never going to the North Monroe El Jaliscos again! My group of 3 waited 30+ minutes before we even received contact from a waitress (one of us started a timer on our phone). The wait staff and management continuously walked by us, making eye contact, and took over 30 minutes to even place a drink order. The restaurant was not busy at all. The wait staff all grouped together at the door with the manager, pointed at our table for at least 30 seconds while laughing, then walked inside once I made eye contact with them. Our waitress finally made her way over to our table, never ONCE apologizing for the wait, and was rude the entire night. When we placed our order, my girlfriend very specifically stated that she wanted her drink made with rum as opposed to tequila. The waitress informed her that there was a dollar extra charge for this request (which weve never been charged for before at this establishment), but we were fine paying the extra charge. She was the only one who ordered a drink, and they brought her a watered down "frozen" drink, made with tequila that had been sitting at the bar area for 10 minutes before it was brought to the table. After tasting it, we told her we didnt want it. We decided as a group we were fed up with the place and wanted to leave, so I let the girls head to the car while I stayed behind to talk to the manager. Well, the manager, unbeknownst to me, followed the girls out the side door to the parking lot as if they were stealing something from the store and I tracked down the waitress to inform her of our decision. As I was talking to the waitress, the manager came back in, walked backwards into me, then elbowed my side and continued walking without apologizing. The manager refused to acknowledge myself or the waitress trying to explain the situation to him. After walking back and forth from the kitchen, he finally showed his face, told the waitress to tend her tables, and dismissively waved me away without saying a word to me. Horrible service, and even worse management!

Ive been pretty pleased with the experiences and food Ive had at El Jalisco the times Ive been. Both times, I was seated right away. There are a lot of tables both inside and outside, so its usually really easy to find a place to sit. Each time Ive been, Ive ordered something different, but one of my favorite things to order at El Jalisco is their chips and queso! The queso is so creamy and delicious and not too spicy like the queso at some Mexican spots. I would recommend this for anybody who wants something a little different from the regular chips and salsa appetizer. The chile relleno is also really delicious -- I particularly like the beef filled option. The chile doesnt get soggy like it does at other places, which is usually my primary complaint with chile relleno dishes generally. The fajitas are pretty good here. Ive had the combination of all the meats (steak, chicken, and shrimp) and I think the steak is probably the best meat. Service can be pretty hit or miss. Some days its on point, but other days you get totally ignored. Prices can be kind of high for certain menu items -- the fajitas are kind of pricy if you get two different meats. Overall a pretty good Tex-Mex choice in Tallahassee, though I didnt really feel amazed or think this particular restaurant was any better than any other Tex-Mex places Ive been to.

absolutely the worst experience possible. We were told 10 minutes wait, after 30 minutes the front end guy tells us theres ALSO a 30 minute kitchen wait, as if he wanted us to leave. He made it sound like he was doing us a favor when he said " I dont want to stuff you full of chips and salsa while youre waiting." Finally we sit, the sub-par food comes out late, not super hot and definitely bland, the chicken was rubbery, the rice was crunchy and watery at the same time, not fajita-like at all, and two of our party ordered soup that arrived with the meal and not on time. The server disappeared. Never to return. We had to beg for water and anything else. When I asked the same front end guy for our bill, as we couldnt get anyones attention, he replied "Your server is very busy but I will tell him." 18% gratuity was added in for our party and the server finally appears, wiping his mouth as if i had been eating lunch himself, and he mentions that he KNOWS the tip was added in even though there were dirty plates on the table. We were all furious. He even messed up all of the bills and we had to just pay to get out of there. We. Will. Never. Return. -- and as far as telling this to management? They did not care. Horrible service, mediocre food, absentee servers, arrogant front end employees.

Called in a order and they forgot to make it ! Front end lady was clueless and rude. This was a first and a very last! After I repeated my order three times they still got it wrong! Very very upsetting when u have worked all day! Then the manager did not want to give any discounts on the mess up, they had messed up everyones food, a very very upset lady walked in stating that someone keeps hanging up on her and the staff acted clueless, which was true the font desk kelp ignoring calls. This was the by far worse experience ever! Being military I have traveled several states and no one has ever been so unorganized, unprofessional in a restaurant such as this one. The owner really needs so buckle down on the staff, the act like the customer does not matter, the manager was very very unprofessional and with them messing up my order four times she stated she can only give me $2.00 off! Wow!! NEVER EVER GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR MONEY! No one cares about the customer anymore. PLEASE NEVER EAT HERE! 05/04/2016! BAD SERVICE

An old lady friend lives in a nearby neighborhood and is tortured with loud music on Fridays and uberly too loud music on Cinco De Mayo. We called EL Jerk-Lisco & were told "we no turn down music, use earplugs." Food was mediocre at best. Waitress took two 20s on a 21 dollar check, and never came back. We had to chase her down and have her call us liars in front of the manager where he found our 20 in her apron. I guess she paid the cash register the 1. Had a You can win and we went again figuring oh it was a bad night and this time the manager himself tried to rip us off on the 10 $ discount actually hiding the voucher, we then produced another copy of it and we threatened to call the cops on him the same cops who never enforce the sound ordinance. Friends had their credit card overcharged, what cartel is running this horrible place. Never ever again.

I went on my birthday yesterday and it was terrible. I ordered mozzarella sticks which looked burnt or re-fried a few times. I took one bite and it tasted like it was cooked in fish grease. Ive never had bad mozzarella sticks in my life. I told them and nicely as possible that something was not right about those sticks and I would only be paying for my drink and one of the workers got really upset and started saying foul things in spanish as if I wouldnt understand. I left the receipt with no tip and he balled up the piece of paper and threw it in my direction. I didnt say anything. Went to a different restaurant later on and had a much better time. Wont be going back there.
