I want to state two things: I am a massive fan of Panera and I never have the tendency to write reviews. That being said, after my awful experience I was left to write and inform others of the terrible customer service regarding the manager of the store. I arranged for a rapid pick up at a later time and called to see if I can arrange an earlier pick up. I was left on hold for 15 minutes. This is unacceptable. As soon as the manager answered the phone she did not apologize nor did she seem to emphasize with the situation. She sounded condescending and made me feel as if I was in the wrong. She insisted that it was impossible to change the time and that the rapid pick up was out of the stores control. When I arrived at the store I confronted the manager about the scenario and she responded with malicious tone. I emphasize with store policy or that some request are out of your control, but patronizing a customer in the middle of your store is completely uncalled for and highly disrespectful. Despite her inability to address the situation, she should address the customer in the best mannerism. I work in retail and I expect a certain type of customer service. She, by far, was one of the worst managers I have dealt with. She does not deserve her title and needs to understand that she is the foundation of the store. This experience has caused me to have a negative view towards Panera and despite the location, I will never eat here again.

Questionable Customer Service Food is decent and inexpensive but the people working here as "managers" need some customer service training. After driving home from a pickup order (20 min) round trip I discover the sandwich part of my sons you pick 2 is missing. I call the store and ask to speak with the manager on staff who seemed to guess what I was calling about in advance. Good start. I then ask what my options are as it didnt seem reasonable to make another 20 min trip to pick up a missing sandwich. He offered to refund my money for only the sandwich portion of the you pick 2. Im sure others may disagree, but how does this solution make the customer "whole". A business stays in business by acknowledging mistakes and making a situation right. A reasonable response might have been at least to refund the entire cost of the you pick 2, offer to have the sandwich delivered, or to offer to mail me a coupon. Just refunding the cost of the sandwich they didnt put into my bag seemed a little silly. Send Caleb back to manager training. Not once in the conversation did I hear an acknowledgement of a mistake nor an apology. Just poor management. I hope the GM at this store takes notes on Google reviews.

I dont frequent Panera locations in general, but this one is close to where I live and I have eaten here several times. Panera food, in general, seems to have gone from "meh" to "meh -" in recent years, but that isnt my concern for this review. This particular Panera has the worst customer service I have encountered at any food vendor in St Pete. The staff are unfriendly, easily confused by basic questions, and make frequent mistakes. The last time I was there, for example, I simply asked if they could toast my bagel and the cashier first looked away, distracted, and then struggled to answer my question. There were very few other customers, and yet it took them 10 minutes to slice and toast my bagel, after two other staff asked if I wanted it sliced and toasted, and then in the end, they gave me the wrong bagel. Nobody has time for this much tomfoolery over a bagel.

I just left the Panera Bread on 4th Street North, and my experience was not the greatest. I had not been in this location in a while, I went up to the counter to place my order no hello, how may I serve you, I ordered 1/2 Steak, White Cheddar panni sandwich. My order was ready in a few minutes, not knowing where to pick up my sandwich, I return to the counter, the cashier just pointed and said very rudely you pick up your sandwich down over there. My sandwich was such a disappointment for $6.74, there was hardly any pickled onions, couldnt taste the horseradish sauce at all, still trying to find the steak. Not very happy at all. if I didnt work so far away I would have return the sandwich, and on top of that I gave a $1.00 tip. Wont ever do that again.

Panera has some good bread. However, every time I come here you can smell the bathroom near the rear of the restaurant. Also, on more than one occasion there were flies on the pastries that are out in the display area. I understand you cant control this 100% but like I said this has happened more than once so by now they should have enclosed the pastry display area. It would be nice if they could work on their cleanliness.

Their catch phrase is 100% Fresh Food and that is true. From an in-house bakery that produces fresh breads and goodies daily. Choice of salads (personal favorite is roasted beet with citrus and pecans). A variety of soups to choose from (I could eat the French Onion daily) and who says mac and cheese is for kids only? Paneras also has a choice of coffee drinks and a selection of herbal teas. Panera Bread is worth a visit.

ZERO STARS IF IT WOULD LET ME. This is the WORST Panera Bread I have ever been to. I went here 2 months ago and had a horrible experience and tried it again today to see if it was any better.... Well, NOT AT ALL and even WORSE. Specifically the General Manager Travis Cornett. He is a nasty and unhappy person and should never work with the public again. Thanks for nothing and losing lots of good business.

I really like Panera, but this is one of the worse locations. The restaurant is centrally located to downtown. But, Parking is terrible, the restaurant is not kept clean, and the staff is consistently not friendly. The food is up to usual Panera standards.

French onion soup was luke warm...cheese wasnt even melted. For $5.55 the roast turkey kale panini was meager and not too tasty. The staff was pleasant enough but not enough to overcome the mediocre food.

Very clean. Plenty of seating. Atmosphere is not great. You can sit outside. Good food. Many types of cream cheese. Coffee is just ok.

Paid 8.59 for a sub that was so cheap there was only 4 slices on it and I could go to subway to get more meat and it would be cheaper
