Awful. My husband, sister-in-law and brother-in-law visited there tonight by way of the beach. When we sat down before the beginning of the first set at an outside table away from the main dining area, we were informed by our server, Eileen, that there was a $12/person cover. My brother-in-law replied that it wasnt a problem by saying "Well eat and drink our way there." So three of us were happily drinking and listening to the Tomcats and having an OK time. My husband was the designated driver and didnt drink anything, not even water. How simple and responsible can you be, right.? But no, that wasnt good enough, the owner came over to my husband and harassed him about not eating and drinking and told him that as an owner he had to pay the Tomkats $400 per performance and he couldnt afford to have someone like my husband sit there and just listen to the music. So the owner told my husband that he had to leave. So my husband left. The other three of us had every intention of making up my husbands share of drinks and food but that wasnt good enough for the owner who wanted everyone to be buying drinks and food. But it felt to me that the regular dancers didnt eat or drink. Maybe they did but they werent put on a schedule and harassed like we were. We left immediately followed by my brother-in-law who paid the bill and cancelled a table for six he had reserved for the following week. Well never go back. Here in the St. Petersburg area there are just so many welcoming, great venues to go without putting up with that nonsense. I have never in my life experienced anything like it. Its certainly not the southern hospitality I have to come to know and love. You can try the Blue Parrot it but there are no guarantees. We were there many times before this evening but never again.

Attended the Blue Parrot on Feb. 12, 2014 with a party of fourteen people. Waiter Landon took our orders including our names. He brought all the orders except mine. It turned out he gave my order to Wayne, who had ordered sausage lasagna. They sent the sausage lasagna back to the kitchen and I sat there will no food. Finally, I called Landon over and he said it wasnt his fault. After waiting for an hour with no food and everybody else was finished, I went to the bartender who was very rude. She said they were working on it but the burgers are thick and it takes awhile. I said I didnt think they were working on it because it doesnt take an hour to grill a burger. It was Landons fault because with my name on the order, Beth, he gave my food to Wayne. Naturally, Wayne should have advised Landon that it wasnt what he ordered. However, Wayne is a customer and to a member of the Blue Parrot staff. It was Landons responsibility to know who ordered what. As there was an extra order he returned to the kitchen, he should have picked up on that. If he was wondering why he didnt tip, it is because of poor service, lack of responsibility for his error and rudeness on the part of the bartender. I am writing this on Barbara Keilys computer, because I am visiting Florida. Guess what restaurant I will give a miss to. Respectfully submitted, Elizabeth Bunting

We went to see the boat parade. Originally sat inside but moved outside immediately after ordering drinks so we could see the boats. This was an issue as they have two sets of drink rules. We ordered waters, in glasses, that werent allowed taken outside. Outside youre not allowed fountain drinks, only cans and no refills on anything including tea (unsweet only). Water is $2 bottles only, but our server was kind enough to allow us to have a cup of ice. Ordered the fried grouper and chicken quesadilla, probably not the best choice for nearly $20. See the included picture. We asked what came on it, she neglected to mention the tomatoes. Needless to say, we probably wont be back anytime soon.

Definitely a one-and-done restaurant. Maybe it would have been better had we stuck to bar food -- wings or a burger, maybe -- because the "real" food -- we had grouper and meatloaf dinners -- was perfectly awful. The grouper was thin, fishy and had bones in it. The waitress promised it was grouper though I have my doubts. My BFs meatloaf was a huge pile of glop. What was billed as "roasted potatoes" were reheated McDonalds fries. Dont expect some yummy skin-on red potatoes. There are lots of places to eat around here. Dont pick this one.

Horrible experiance. Took a half hour to get our bill and she ran my card on someone elses bill. No appology at all. Horrible. Definitely would not reccomond to anyone. 3 other waitresses didnt know how to help her either and laughed at her inability to work the cash register. Completely clueless on business skills and zero customer service. When asking for a wet nap her response was we dont have that, use the restroom.

Very rude owner/manager? called me at home to complain that one of the patrons in my party of "14" did not tip enough. Food is mediocre at best, as is the service. Poor A/C. I was in the restaurant business for 35 years, and never experienced this kind of "rude" behavior. I would have instantly fired any emplyee, or manager, that treated a customer the way Frank treate me.

My friend swears by this place, but for me it felt a little old and dingy. I know that oftentimes these places which have been around forever are hidden gems, but the breakfast I had tasted more like a greasy spoon meal and not much like a healthy breakfast. Probably better for drinks and bar foods. Seating outside by the water ensures a cool breeze.

No air conditioning, the food was flat out disappointing, the service was the worst and they just do not care. I have learned the hard way, when you are brave enough to try a new place, re-think it and go to your tried and true favorite place. You will thank me for it....

Casual restaurant with a friendly atmosphere and live entertainment some nights. I enjoy fish if its fresh. The broiled fish I ordered was fresh, moist and had a tasty sauce. My party enjoyed their meals. Prices are reasonable.

Food was aweful. Our waiter was nice but the food was way below average. Cod smelt like it sat out for days. Conch fritter was very displeasing. Stay away from this place!!

Great food, and drink! Staff is fun loving, and full of smiles. Just a fun, off the beaten path place to go. Youll have a good time! Last time there they had live music.

If you like Big Band and Swing music, then youll love the Tomkats Jazz Orchestra on Monday nights. They play 7 to 9:30. Great food for a beach bar and grille.
