One of my worse experiences so far... On Saturday 06/24/17 my wife and I with other 2 couples where meeting at this place for dinner, drinks and to enjoy an evening with Mike. I was the first to arrive with my wife and a nice waitress was about to seat us down when a young female bartender came out yelling and telling us we could not be seated until the entire party was present. Once the party arrived, it got even worse. This chick was like possessed by the devil himself yelling, screeming and even throwing the menus on the bars counter. I could not understand her attitude. The waitress finally gave us a table, but unfortunately I could not risk that devil woman spitting on our food and decided to take our business somewhere that was more appreciated and respected. Billy Nikki. Whether this was an issue of racisism or your employee is getting kick backs from regular customers to save or selling a table, you have serious problems that could cause irreparable harm to your business. Good luck and I hope you find this information helpful. My wife and I will never set foot at your place ever again and we definitely will share our experience.

I am not gonna lie, once we walked around the corner and saw the place, we almost turned around. However, my desire for all you can eat shrimp beat out my initial judgement and we went inside. To call this a local dive would be an understatement, but we picked a table off to the side and sat down at the be we thought was the cleanest. The waitress came over and promptly took our drink orders and gave us the specials. Our cokes came back in a clear solo cup and she took our orders. Our AYCE shrimp came with a salad (iceberg lettuce, unripe tomatoes, onion and a decent ranch) and a baked potato. The peel-n-eat shrimp was offered warm or chilled with bays season sprinkled on after the fact. The shrimp was larger then I would of expected and none of the ones I had were over cooked ( not gonna say how many I polished off) The best part of the restaurant was the manager working. He constantly checked on us to make sure we had enough, which varies from a previous review. The food was so so, but the staff and the interesting conversations that were occurring make this a place I would go again.

Been here twice in 24hrs. Came back the 2nd time because the first was so great. The first time I stopped in for a quick Miller Lite after burning off enough calories at the gym and I could afford the treat. It was ice cold and served in a frosted pint glass. Even better, it was served with a friendly smile and a reasonable price. Very friendly place, I liked it immediately. I paid the tab & left. The next thing I knew, the bartender/waitress, Dawn, was at my car window with a menu letting me know they served breakfast too.!! The next day (today) I came back and had blackened shrimp and blackened catfish. Never had any better, never had any better service either. Waitressing supreme, by Kathy & Dawn, double coverage, I actually tipped the cook, something I dont do very often. I do recommend this place highly. It isnt 5 star dining , but it is great, no, it is REALLY great food, and the service excels. You cant go wrong here, the menu has something for everyone & the cook has a lock on superb menu offerings, as witnessed by half a dozen people around me.

It may be a good bar, but they should stick to bar food. Do not expect a quality dining experience. I ordered blackened fish with mixed veggies and a salad. Fist came the salad. Nothing short of the cheapest iceberg mix you could have. Not only that, but it was slightly old, the tips were browning and it was all the white bitter parts. My girlfriend saw a piece fall off her place and the bartender picked up up and put it back on her plate. Needless to say, she didnt have any. Main course: fish was good, GFs fish spread was good. My mixed veggies would have made Walmart and a microwave look like gourmet! I think it was warmed up from a previous night in all seriousness. The place is full of those cheesy free newpapers and advertisement flyers. On top of that, the service was lackluster for not a very busy night. Just avoid unless all you want is some whiskey and a hangover.

Everything about this place is sub par. First of all we were seated at a tiny table that wobbled. We figured it would be difficult to sit there because my husband and I were getting crab legs and our children were with us. Simply nor enough room. We asked if we could be moved to a larger table and we were told no because they were expecting a large crowd. There was never a large crowd that showed up during our entire meal. Our waitress was not friendly at all. She seemed irritated to be working and never even offered beverage refills. We had to practically beg. The crab legs were good but everything else was just ok. I could have found better for much less money. We wont be returning. They werent welcoming and the food was way overpriced for the lack of flavor.

BEST BEER on Treasure Island! If youre a craft beer lover visiting Treasure Island you have to stop at R Bar. Dont let the outward appearance fool you, its a great place with great service. We went to R Bar to try their microbrews, and were very pleasantly surprised. The IPA and Amarilllo Pale Ale were sold out but we tried the others and they were really great, very nicely crafted beers. The red ale (an IPA actually with some chocolate malt for color) was our favorite, but we also really liked the Scotch Ale, Amber Ale and Brown Ale. We just got here today and have already been there twice, and we will go back tomorrow!

The server was horrible, Im guessing because my husband and I look so young. Which is no excuse. She didnt bring my salad out I had to ask for it, after my meal came out .While another older couple sat down and got their right away. Dont order a steak they are like rubber and over cooked I dont think they have a grill. We mentioned it to the server she said it wasnt over cooked it was the lighting she could bring out a flash light. I just dropped it. My husband how ever got oysters and hot wings which he enjoyed.

I always have fun at RBar. The food is great - really inexpensive. The entertainment is wonderful. If I had to say anything, its that I wish they had more room, but they are experts at seating and I have always gotten a table. The servers are also really nice and very quick. If you are looking for a casual night out with friends or family and youd like a little entertainment, but would still like to hear your conversations this is the place and I highly recommend it.

I make it a point to eat at the R Bar every time I vacation in St. Pete. It is a local bar and that is what I like about about it, not the typical tourist spot. Great specials and prices. The service can be a little slow but we have never had any attitude from servers towards us. You should give it a try and make your own decision. Although as I write this maybe I should give it a bad review so I dont have to wait for a table next time.
