Ive had mostly a good experience with the pub. The employees there are friendly and fast. Ive had some of their beer before and enjoy the dark lager. Usually I go there for lunch however and often times get my pick and what I paid for. Their pizza has gone up and down for me ever since I started going there since the business was sold and new employees come in and out while the originals moved on. When the red-haired cook was there, his pizza was like five and a half stars for me, however it went downhill for a bit after he left. Some of the cooks who came after him I believe were not as devoted to quality as he was. Lately though, Ive returned to the pub and their cooks have greatly improved with their pizza. Id say its back up to four stars. Other great meals Ive had from there include shrimp scampi, steak sandwiches and hot wings. Their steaks are hearty, well-cooked and juicy, along with their shrimp. Right now, their hot wings are my favorite, as they are usually well-cooked, hearty, hot and spicy and very filling. I enjoy the carrots with them as well, along with other vegetables in other meals. Their regular drinks are top notch. Ive always enjoyed their very sweet lemonade and iced tea. Though I do wish the tea could come sweetened lol. They host some good musicians and play great oldies British rock there as well, which I never get tired of. I also love the bar and setting with all the antique whine bottles and art. On occasion, I have some difficulty with a certain employee there, whom I believe dislikes me lols, but otherwise, the rest of the employees are great to their customers. The owner is very friendly as well and has conversed and given me life advice many times. And when meals are delayed or havent been cooked to my liking, he often gives me a discount. The back seating has many tables for many families and entourages and is just as inviting as the entrance and bar. Their bathroom is also quite possibly the cleanest public bathroom I have ever seen and used. The walls, floors and toilets are always clean, along with the sink, it never stinks and instead usually smells flowery; and their toilet paper and paper towels are always full and never inconvenience me. You cant go wrong with the White Horse British Pub. I give it 5 out of 5 stars. Thanks Keisha, Bob and everyone else for the experience.

Its a play pub (its Florida)...................................................... The place is small inside. A segregated area for the bar and about a dozen booths on the periphery along with about a dozen or so tables. The booths each have a lamp that is turned down low and the overall lighting is dim. This is to make up for the lack of decor throughout the interior. I personally hate places that clutter the walls and ceiling with junk. The tactic is effective and creates a certain charm. A decent place to bring a date. ..............................----------------------------------- The wait staff are punctual and courteous, although not terribly knowledgeable of true English cuisine or custom. When asked if the cider was sweet the gal called it beer. The fish and chips were well prepared. Crisp and flaky fish with properly cooked chips that werent soggy or laden with grease. The single portion was ample and satiating. The batter seemed to lack a little something, but once paired with malt vinegar and tartar sauce was palatable. The menu is sparse on choices for food. The wine list has a varied choice of middle of the road vintners. The beers on hand were of the most common ones found anywhere else. Good news here is that a Guinness is only $4.00. There were only two choices of cider. Strongbow (the Coors of cider) and another that was actually made of pears. I had the latter which was towards the sweet side and didnt seem to have much kick to it..................................................................... A friend and I each had the fish and chips+ my cider and his tea the tab came up to $22 and change. In all a decent place to bring a friend or date or just have a few.

Very Dissatisfied Customers..... Today 7/14/15 with family and friends we decided to go to the White Horse Pub for lunch. Upon arriving we found out that the old owner Fay Lawrence sold the business to Bob Kirscher from The Broken Egg. It had been many months since we were there last and had no idea that Fay sold the business. After ordering from the menu and noticing the prices had gone up an average of at least $2.00 or more per item we said OK we will try it anyway. When we got our food it just wasnt the same as old and were very disappointed. Some of it was cold and had to be sent back, sandwiches were served on old hard bread, and the tomato sauce on the flat bread pizza tasted like it had vinegar or something in it? All in all our experience there today was terrible and we will NOT be back again. Also when we have been there in the past for lunch the place was busy with customers, today we were the only customers there except for two ladies that walked in when we were leaving. If they keep serving bad food like we got today and word gets out they will lose customers fast. Only good thing about lunch was after we complained about how bad the food was, Bob the new owner said there was no charge for all of our lunches.

I have to say that being British im sorry for the poor representation of British food at this place, overpriced and poor quaity food, i ordered the Sausage sandwich which arrived with a tiny peice of waffer thin sliced sausage between two slices of stale white bread, the food was luke warm and tasted strange, it was accompanied by potato chips that were bland and overcooked, the hp sauce was in fact steak sauce and not regular hp sauce, the place was dead at 12.15 on a Sunday so the word must be out amongst the locals of the over priced poor quality food, my wife and daughter ordered the Red Queen salad, the Salmon was overcooked the salad was tiny and not even as described on the menu ($19 for the pleasure of this) i have lived in Sarasota for many years and have been here several times and i have to say that this owner seems to be more concerned about charging as much as possible while not caring about quality or quantity, he appears to be running out of vctims,

Two years ago the food and service were excellent. Last year the ownership changed and when asked how we enjoyed the food we mentioned it was better last year and the response was "We are getting a new cook." So we tried it again a year later. We just ate there for the last time. Sitting outside I had to go inside to get drink refills. My wife and I were famished. It took 15 minutes for our server to take our meal order and another 1/2 hour to bring the food. The portions were right sized for the price but we left the plates half eaten. How can you mess up fish at an English pub? By over cooking. The coating was burnt. Then I had to go in looking for the server to get the check. The good news is they will never have to wait on us again and we wont have to wait on them either.
