The food is OK, but I dont know whats happened to this place in the last few months as far as the service. The last few times Ive been, the service has been poorly-trained, actrociously slow, rude and arrogant. Its almost like they have actually tried to hire people with no social skills and bad attitudes. After receiving ridiculously slow, inattentive and lackadaisical service one evening (the waitress acted like it was a bother to even be there), my party and I left a 10% tip. I normally leave at least 20% even if the service is average. The waitress actually had the nerve to come back to our table and complain about our tip! I gave it one more chance after that (just for drinks), but received rude and hostile service from a bartender. Apparently she had had a bad day and felt the need to take her frustrations out on her customers. Its just baffling that the level of service has been allowed to drop off so tremendously at Black Rose. As said in my headline, it is by far the worst in town. I used to be a semi-frequent customer, but they have lost my business forever. Why spend money in a place where the customer is placed last?

We have been at this restaurant 3 times. The first time was awesome, the second was a nightmare when it came to service, and today will be our last time there ever. I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease thus eliminating any food options containing wheat. I asked the waitress when we first got there if they had any gluten free options and she said I could get a burger without a bun, a salad or the salmon all of which I was fine with. We ordered soft drinks and we heard the waitress discussing with other staff "people" who request gluten free food. The co-worker began to complain about "people" requesting gluten-free items and how "they think gluten is the cause of all their problems" (which it is if you have celiac disease) and a few other choice comments on "these people." We were sitting towards the front of the restaurant and could hear their entire conversation as they spoke quite loudly. We left money on the table for the drinks we had ordered but didnt consume and walked out. The manager should train staff in customer service, because we certainly didnt experience any!

THIS REVIEW NEEDS EDITING! The night after the eclipse, I gave Black Rose another chance and they TOTALLY redeemed themselves! The Irish Nachos with corned beef was delicious! Thank you, Black Rose for stepping up with a comp appetizer....we thoroughly enjoyed every bite! Last night after the "TOTALITY" eclipse, I ordered the highly recommended Irish Nachos with corned beef. I waited well over an hour for this TO GO only to get home to a box of nacho chips and a handful of potatoes. NOTHING ELSE! I tried calling several times last night and again today to no answer. The phone must be broken. I will go there this evening for another attempt for this supposed fabulous dish. Sorry, I had to resort to this review but I am rather perturbed. If I get satisfaction this evening, I will review again.

Ive been here a few times. The food is OK, nothing spectacular. Like, I never suggest Black Rose for food; we only go for the drinks. The drinks are subpar: nothing special. Hannahs down the way has a much better drink menu. Anyway, none of this matters because Ill never go back again. The staff is unbearably rude. Youre completely ignored if youre not buddy-buddy with them, or youll be asked to move tables (like my friends and I were asked the other night, by some chick who looked like Snookis taller, less successful sister). If youre visiting Hendersonville, please refrain from visiting Black Rose and check out Hannah Flannigans a block down, on the corner. Awesome, happy, fun Irish pub with better service and better food and better... well, you get the idea.

Absolutely filthy. Went there and sit outside for a beer and had the waitress to wipe table. The ketchup bottle sitting in sun and lid flipped up and flies trying to find their way into the hole for inside bottle. Every table out there was dirty. Inside at entrance door the rug was gross. The floors were dirty. AND Went To Bath ROOM AND LOOKED Inside kitchen Wow FLoor was gross. Nasty place. Not just one time thing, gave benefit of doubt and just cant seem to figure out how they continue to not clean up week after week we have been there. Had enough. Until they do we will not be going back to eat. Maybe beer but thats only because we can see the keg znd it being served. Not to eat though.

Before we went here we read a lot of the reviews with the most recent saying how they ordered the salmon with wilted spinach salad. I ordered this same entree and was rather disappointed. Presentation was top notch but everything was very bland. The most flavorful item on my plate was the rosemary bread and it was clearly not made in house. My guy ordered the St Pattys melt and it was OK. The onion was the star of his plate and should have been the melt itself. We were starving when we first got here so we ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer and they hit the spot but it was all downhill from there.

Im not sure what happened to this place. New chef = not so great food...and it wasnt exactly spectacular to begin with. The burgers are smaller and not cooked as well. Ive had two in the last month where they didnt melt the cheese. The nachos size was cut in half and the price was kept the same. $8.99 for meatless nachos is absurd. There seems to be no consistency in the food preparation. Service has been poor the last two times weve been. And for gods sake - please fry the potatoes and chicken in different oil than the fish. Everything out of the fryer tastes like cod.

We keep hearing upcharge of $3 over and over from the waitress. Just wanted The French fries were soggy enough I had to order gravy to cover up. The gravy was sweet. It you order the steak samwich it tastes good however it would s sparse and no flavor in the steak. The mushrooms and onions carried the flavor into the bread. The hamburger tastes great however we ordered it med-well and it came out med- rare. Fearful or how you order a burger but they are great. Huge glasses of wine for only $5.50! Lets drink here. Waiteress Fabyana was great!

We eat here all the time. Dont order the nachos! Its a pile of chips w corned beef thrown on. When I made a suggestion the waiter just said he would take them off the tab. Hello! Make them better so their edible. He just didnt care. I almost walked to the kitchen and told the folks myself.....less chips and more cheese.how about adding some lettuce shreds and other nacho ingredients instead of just meat and chips!

Service was great. I ordered the Patty Melt and the appearance and concept was flawless. But heres the thing aside from everything being cooked BEAUTIFULLY. It was under seasoned. I know theres salt and pepper on the table, but hamburger isnt something you season after its cooked. Its a world of difference to properly salt and pepper it raw. Thats my only complaint.
