This is typically a good place to eat. However, since moving to the new location, its become not so service friendly. On a nothing week night we had to wait by ourselves for 10 minutes to be seated until the hostess could finish whatever it was she was doing. When she finally walked back to the hostess station, she seemed distracted and still didnt take notice that we were waiting for a table. At that point, some locals barged in and walked right past the hostess station, seemingly aware that it was a waste of time to wait for a table. They proceeded to the only table available and plopped down. The hostess THEN noticed us and said there were no more tables. I told her she just let a party go right past us to the last table and wed been waiting for some time. She just shrugged and said nothing. We were seated at one of the small bar top tables which were crowded in the back. The one waitress waiting on this area repeatedly backed in to us until we finally moved the table. She then proceeded to ignore us for our drink orders until my wife asked her if we could order some drinks. She seemed startled that wed stop her from walking right past us, AGAIN. 15 minutes later my wifes drink was delivered. Mine would be along in another 10. I wanted to leave at this point but it was late and we were hungry. Our waitress finally came back and took our orders. 30 minutes later our food was delivered. No asking us if wed like refills on our drinks. The food was good, as it usually is. But the service has gone way down. If it continues, Bar Fly can look forward to only the locals frequenting their new location. Maybe thats all they really want.

So I never leave reviews but I thought this should be heard. Ive called throughout the week to place a to go order each time Ive spoken with a Sara, who informed me that they arent taking to go orders at this time because its too chaotic and they are at full volume. Being in the service industry myself youd never want to push away togo customers, as some people want to enjoy your food in their home. Tonight I called and I spoke to Sara again who told me they were at full volume and couldnt do Togo orders. The only way would be to come in and order from the bar. My husband and I came in, because I was determined to get the sandwich I was craving, we walked in, I counted ten open tables, 8 people at the bar and three bartenders, to me that isnt full volume and a to go order shouldnt be so hard to take. The bartenders,Trey and Lance were awesome and Ill try again to get a Togo order without having to come in sit at the bar. Im just letting you guys know, I was turned away 3 times this week with a potential $60 order each time because of it being "too chaotic and full volume ". Hopefully this issue can be resolved, I love to support local places and Ive loved bar fly when it was tiny never got turned away from a to go order there. Thanks!

I highly recommend this place, the food is great and the service is usually good!! JUST ASK TO NOT BE SEATED WITH "KELLY L"!!! Kelly L ruined our night, not to be mistaken with the other Kelly who is a sweetheart. Kelly L shouldnt be in the service industry. I love this restaurant and have been a loyal and respectful customer for years. I have never had a bad experience until this night. I went in for some delicious tacos with my girlfriend only to have my plans of a nice night out at one of my favorite spots ruined by Kelly L. From the beginning, Kelly gave us an attitude. After being told to seat myself (which is completely fine), and waiting 10 minutes, I had to go inside and find her to put in my water order. She forgot to put in our order of soup and a loaded bowl of rice and beans. I reminded her of the soup, so she brought it out eventually. The rice bowl was long forgotten. At the end, she gave me even more attitude continued to argue with me about the items she forgot to put in and serve us. She single handedly ruined our dinner. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! THE FOOD IS GREAT!!! A great portion of a restaurant experience is the server/service. She is a bad look for the place.

Our first time at this restaurant. It was lunchtime on Saturday and we got the last table. On the plus side: Service was good, it was clean, noise level not too bad, lighting and view were great. On the down side: Overpriced! I had a grouper bowl. Tons of rice and beans, cabbage and salsa. And tiny pieces of grouper that I had to search for. My husband had the grouper sandwich which was $15.00. Smallish piece of grouper and it came with more rice and beans and slaw. We had iced tea and a coke and it was $33.00. For lunch.... The special was swordfish for $20.00. For lunch??? This is a very casual place. Chairs are not comfy. Its not a high end restaurant. Im sure the rent is much higher at the new location but please give us some less expensive choices!

We discovered this nifty little bar/restaurant last evening while attending Safety Harbors 3rd Friday event. We were warmly greeted at the door by wait staff. It was early in the evening, so still plenty of tables available. We chose our own spot. The service was fast and efficient. It seemed as if all the waiters and waitresses were catering to us. The manager stopped by as we were ordering and helped with gluten free choices. The clam chowder definitely pleased my Bostonian husband. We both ordered the grouper special. It was cooked to perfection, served hot and quickly. The salad was awesome too. We will definitely go back again and again and again.

Food is okay. Service, not so much. The day we came in, it was so hot it was uncomfortable. Asked if they could adjust the temperature, and was told there was an issue with the AC. We ordered clam chowder, which was pretty thin on the clam. My wife went up to the bar for another drink, as she had been empty a while and our food had just been served. The bar refused to add it to our tables tab and made her pay on the spot. I guess self serve and inconveniencing your uncomfortable customers is the way they do business here. This was a disappointing visit to a busy local establishment.

Love their fish tacos and Island nachos. Bartenders are great and so are the drinks. Their grouper nuggets are yummy as are the Cedar Key clams when in season. It is worth a try--especially on taco Tuesday, such a bargain. Table service had slid as of late so were sitting at the bar, not sure why, but it should be remedied. Please for the love of God, get rid of those God-awful chairs, so uncomfortable! It is one of our go-to places in Safety Harbor and we will continue to visit regardless of the chairs.
