I loved the Friendly Tavern. Keyword here is Loved. Past tense. I had been comming on and off with family and friends to this place for as long as I can remember. However, this time was the first time I actually had the worst experience I can ever think of having. The service was lousy and when I complained to the manager, she basically told me the woman serving us had to serve the entire room. Excuse me??? How is that good service?? To start from the beginning: My best friend and I went to the resturaunt at 3PM and sat down. It took 10 minutes to get drinks and another 2-3 roughly to place our orders. We were never greeted by ANYBODY. Not a Hi, how are you or Have a seat, well be with you shortly or any generic greeting which wouldve been perfectly acceptable. I watched another table not only get their drinks and appitizers before me and my friend (this table arrived after us) but they also got their Entrees. WE HAVENT EVEN HAD OUR APPITIZERS! I flagged another waitress to see what the problem was. needless to say, our appetizers were out much quicker. Our drinks were never refreshed and our food was warm at best. After bringing all of this to the managers attention, it was then I was informed htat my server was the one serving the entire room of tables. Excuse me? What kind of bull crap is this? I am basically telling you Im getting insufficient service and youre telling me that there is only one server in the house. This is a lie: There were at least 3-4 other servers that I could see through my visit to this establishment. To be told there was only 1 server for the entire house is bullcrap. I wouldnt be flagging you if I hadnt had to get ANOTHER SERVER to get your attention! I was so shocked I couldnt come up with a response to that. Needless to say, our entrees were brought out not even another 10 minutes later, but another 5 minutes after that, we were handed our altered check and asked if I wanted a take out box for my meal. All in all, my friend and I were there roughly an hour with the worst service I ever had. I cant even critique the food because I barely got to finish I was so angry. Until these people shape up, I wouldnt recommend going. Its a shame too because I loved going there. Tip Tip Friendly Tavern: Just because Im not a weekly regular, or ordering alcohol, does not mean I deserve unsatisfactory service!!

The first time a small group of us went to "un" friendly tavern, the group was a little loud so when we were asked to leave, I really didnt get too upset. We went back yesterday, and 2 of us sat at the bar and ordered food and we had water.....the bartender/manager was very rude "again".....the 1st time i understood because the group we were with was loud, but he had no reason at all to be rude to us this time. My boyfriend asked when the food was going to be ready a few times, and the bartender flew mad....i over heard him say "im gonna knock someone in the head"....well, i got up to leave because he was way out of line. The bartender chased me outside demanding i pay for the food because we had ordered it. i walked back in to pay for the food, and asked to speak with the manager/owner. Well, that was useless, she must be afraid of the bartender or maybe he is her son....i paid for the food and threw it in the trash. His response to what i over heard was "well, your boyfriend asked me 4 times when the food was going to be ready". Really!! I think the bartender needs anger management if something like that would set him off. Which by the way, my boyfriend did not ask 4 times...and he was being respectful, just asked a few times. Gheeze!! I will never go back there and dont recommend anyone to go there. What ever happened to "the customer is always right"? Not here, the bartender may just want to knock someone in the head.

Its a Friendly Tavern in name only. Judging by her permanent scowl, our rude server Megan clearly hates her job. This was our second unfortunate time with her, and her crappy attitude hasnt improved. "Pleases" and "Thank Yous" go unacknowledged. After 35 minutes of waiting for our lunch, I dared to ask when our food would be coming, and was told that their food is custom made, and "this isnt McDonalds". Really? No kidding? BTW- I was waiting for a "custom made" tuna stuffed tomato and a hamburger. A beer was ordered which was delivered 10 minutes later, and the place was not busy. She did keep up with her texting though. All of the other staff there is very pleasant, and the food is actually very good. However, the low rating is due to the stress and aggravation of dealing with someone who is clearly in the wrong job. Maybe try the DMV? If she is your server, head for the door. I wont be back. When I go out to eat Im looking to have a good time, not be aggravated by some crouch.

Not "Friendly" at all. After calling Friendly Tavern to ask about the "Daily Special - Unlimited Crab Legs" Thursday night, I was told that the special was available until "10:30 or 11" and when I asked if it was a kid-friendly environment I was told that it was and that kids were allowed to stay until 11. I told the person on the phone that we would be in for a late dinner. When we arrived around 9:00, we were told that kids werent allowed in the restaurant and that they would not be serving us crab legs. The owner or manager on staff even rudely commented "We dont make any money on it anyways." What he didnt realize is that we would have spent $300+ (7 people + drinks + sides + 20% tip) and the teenagers that were with us would have not eaten much of the crab legs special anyway. I would not recommend this sketchy establishment to anyone!

Attended a bachelorette party with a large group of girls. We spent a few hours enjoying karaoke while purchasing many beverages throughout. The bar closes at 2:00 AM. At closing time, approx. 1:45 AM, we were expecting our cabs to arrive as we waited in the front lobby of the bar, inside, because it was 45 degrees outside! Although it was not 2:00 AM yet, a male staff member on site told us that we had to leave. We complained that it was cold and our cabs were en route. He did not care. He proceeded by yelling at us to get out! He was extremely rude. We were very offended as we were a group of young women and the area, although touristy by day, is very scary and sketchy at night. None of us had beverages in our hands...we were simply cold and uncomfortable walking the street to wait for our cabs. Very disrespectful and disappointing!!

We came to clearwater for a couple days and one day we decided to meet a cousin there for drinks and catch up. From the start it seemed like a nice place,then we got our so called rude of a hated her job server. An attitude right from the start, not once did she come back and check on us, food was so so. Salad,hard to believe they can mess that up was just soggy ,rotten lettuce with mushy old dated tomatoes. On top of it she decided to start cleaning the doors with spray cleaner going every where,good one. It all fit in nice with the blonde who gave us the check and kept walking by with dirty ass looks. Maybe it would have been better if we were locals. Maybe.
