I was so looking forward to dining at this establishment. My wife and I arrived at 5:45pm and was told by the hostess without a reservation the wait would be to 9pm. They did offer seats at two tables outside but no offer of bar seats or high tops that were clearly open. So we opted for the tables outside, I have dined with a view of a parking lot before. We seat our selves and wait some time before our server arrives. We are asking some questions as we both have never dined here and are made to feel as if we are just being a nuisance. When we are asking about specials and explain once again we had never dined here before the server became more rude. He explained one had to be seated at a certian time or at the bar or high tops for specials. Then when we asked about the happy hour he told us what the happy hour prices were while almost rolling his eyes. As I was asking what the domestic beer selection was he I guess had enough and blurts out "Well I can see you are going to need more time I will bring you your waters (we never asked for water) and storms off. I am calling out to him sir! sir! because I wanted to order a beer (still not even knowing the selection to choose from) and he just walks away. In disbelief of the servers attitude I go inside where I see him chit chatting with other guests. I also notice that now all the high Tops and bar seats (that we were never offered) are now all full. So maybe this place has great food but I guess if you are a 1st time diner and you ask questions and dressed casual you will be discouraged from staying. I am thinking the server just saw a guy in a tee shirt and jeans and figured he was not going to get a gratuity so he thought it just to be rude. That is why I gave 1 star

This is a nice place and I do recommend it and its nice/good enough for special occasions. Service was excellent. Went for our wedding anniversary and brought our 7 mo old baby. We had a reservation and we were seated immediately on a Sat. night. We were brought to a booth where the host (manager?) even moved the table a bit to make sure we could fit the carrier into the booth which we highly appreciated. Our server was Megan and she was nice as well as informative and attentive. We had espresso martinis - yum, rolls/salads, (fyi Cesar comes w/whole anchovies which hubby picked off), seared tuna appetizer, I had the dinner special of Sweet Spicy Thai Chili Oil Scallops w/their awesome signature mashed potato and crispy grn beans, hubby had same sides w/rib eye steak. I loved my meal, our only complaint is his steak was under done - we shouldve sent it back but we didnt. Desserts are ok - I think the quality of the desserts themselves could be better. They do tell u theyre small - which is nice for a small sweet bite after dinner - all the same size at $2.75 ea or to put a few together to make your own sampler. - theyre all served in tiny square shallow dishes. (We had vanilla bread pudding, key lime panacotta, and espresso potdecreme.) Overall a good experience and well be back.

We ate here a few weeks ago. The cost is a little high but worth every cent. The food is excellent and the dining experience is a special one. We have dined here many times and they are consistent with the food and usually offer great service as well, but this last time our server was horrible. He gave us the impression that this job was just something he does to earn some extra spending money while in college. My adult son dropped his fork on the floor as the waiter approached the table and he just stood and looked at my son, like, are you going to pick it up? My son did and was embarrassed. It was constant issues with this waiter. We had to ask twice if my son could get a clean fork. Had to ask if we could have butter with the bread, had to ask for more tea, and on and on. He just didnt care. Were super easy to please and tip well, but this guy didnt earn the tip he received. I really appreciate that there were three or four fresh fish (non farmed) options on the menu. I had the fresh local Snapper and it was perfect. I want to go back, perhaps hold an upcoming celebration here, but wavering with the idea.

I was taken there for my birthday dinner as I had always wanted to try Steak Tar Tar. I was so thrilled with my experience there that I cannot stop thinking about going back. I have been to Armanis, Berns, Shulas, Cafe Ponte and many other top eaterys in Tampa bay. This was the best meal I have had, hands down! Starting with the tar tar, the egg drop soup, the lamb chops and the desert. I could find no fault in anything I had there. The prices are commensurate with the quality and portion received. My only criticism is the wait staff were not the most personable, and the station they enter orders from is placed too close to the patrons and I could hear them discussing their tables. The manager was excellent and was sure to stop by every table to ensure satisfaction. If you are looking for a first class meal in a very tastefully decorated restaurant, you could not find a better location in all of Florida in my humble opinion. I look forward to my next visit and plan on making it a regular monthly obsession. Kudos to the chef, he deserves a Michelin star!!!

Best restaurant hands down in Northern Pinellas County. I have eaten at the Mystic Fish for over 10 years and it never disappoints. The food is amazing!! So flavorful and delicious. The steak tartare is to die for. Grilled octopus - Yum!!! Our other favorite appetizer is seasonal but when they have it you have to order the garlic feta oysters. Their entrees are crafted with precision and the flavors are robust and tasteful. Hogfish is the bomb. Sea bass amazing. Paella, bison tenderloin, bouillabaisse, grouper - its all to die for. Anyone who says their food is sub par is ridiculous, doesnt have taste buds or is just a hater. This is our only go to restaurant when we go out and I could eat it over and over. Richard the manager is top notch. Do yourself a favor and eat here. Fresh local seafood prepared with care and full of flavor. When hubby asks me where I want to go to eat, this is always my first choice!!

The food was disappointing because it lacked flavor. It was tasteless and unappetizing and definitely suited for people without a discerning palate. We went there based on the reviews which was misleading. I forced myself to eat the food and the manager who was disinterested and disengaged offered one of us a three dollar desert which we promptly refused. To add insult to injury the waitress added additional charges for the desert we refused and included two additional charges for food we did not order. The waitress was impatient and dismissive and recommended the sea bass which was bland and tasteless. Then she admitted afterwards that she didnt really like it anyway. It was Flemings prices with a fast food taste. Overall it was not a pleasant experience and I vowed never to return because there was a lack of appreciation for your business.
