When I was younger my family would eat at the Canton in Coral Gables often. Now that Im older I pick up Chinese from this location for my family often. I have tried many Chinese restaurants from New York to Miami and always end up comparing to Canton whether I want to or not. I get the feeling they know Chinese food is easy and restaurants are abundant so they make sure they have consistently good flavor and ingredients. I usually take out. I have eaten inside a few times and what I can say is that the inside is quaint and quiet but Ive never known the service to be bad. Many locals will swing by and eat outside. The small details in the food is what keeps me coming back. i.e. the slices of red cooked pork in the wonton soup, the generous portions in their dishes, down to the size of the rice grain in their fried rice. You wont be blown away by Canton thats just not what it is. It isnt a dim sum spot or a fancy gourmet but it is a place you can eat at all the time and be satisfied and that to me is what merits 5 stars.

I ordered the jumbo ham fried rice and the honey chicken the total of my bill was $35 and some change! When I got home to eat the CHICKEN WAS HARD AND AWFUL until my kids or husband wouldnt eat it! I called the next day of course because they were closed when I got home this little lady took me through the 3rd degree about CHICKEN like Im trying to pull a fast one on her for $17.25 all I wanted was more chicken but after she told me I shouldve brought it back and asking what time did I eat it! And no this the shocker she told me when I come to get the chicken I need to eat it in front of her like Im a CHILD GETTING SCOLDED! So when I gets to the restaurant with my receipt shes puts my money on the counter like Im a nobody! And before I walked out I told her o Im gonna write a review her excact words were YEA YEA OK! This WOMAN IS RUDE AND VERY DISRESPECTFUL! Never again will I eat in this restaurant!!!!!!!

In disbelief. First she never said your welcome after we thanked her (multiple times), Which already bothered me. We get the check and are constantly reminded to pay during conversation (place is not packed) Then I I give her 10$ more than the balance so I can get a whole bill. And she assumed it was her TIP. Like how do you assume your getting a ten dollar tip for a 15 dollar meal. Please do not go if you want decent customer service. P.s the food was bland.

This is a disgusting restaurant. I have been going there for years and Ive seen it go down hill. Today I went in to try some sushi and I tasted a couple of pieces and returned the rest. It was horrible. Do not go there. Find somewhere else to go. I give it one star just because i dont think its the employees fault. They try hard. I think its the owners. They just seem not to care! I will never go back there again. Dont waste your money.

This place deserves "0" stars and should be shut down. My family and I got food poisoning from this place. Their food taste preheated and nasty especially their honey chicken it is not fresh, wonton soup forget it, I took a bite of the wonton and it tasted like I bit into something that was cooked in vinegar.. NASTY!! . Im going to see how I can get someone to inspect this place. Theyre getting people sick with their food .

The food was not the best and the QUALITY WAS HORRIBLE. It did not look fresh and tasty, the waitress would not talk and will just bring the food, and she would walk away very slow. She would not smile either. Please do not go to this place.

I used to LOVE this place, but it seems to have let flavor slip away. Although I still like to go when in South Miami, Im not as fond of it as I used to be. Leave the sushi alone and stick with the Chinese. Much better!

Ordered chicken cashews and just got a take out platter full of cashews and almost 5 slices of dried chicken. Lou Mein was oiley and and tasted like nothing. Everything was dry or bland. At least the service was decent.
