Now that they are in a new locale, I thought "Eh, well be fine, I hear its bigger." Well, I was wrong! Yes, it is bigger, but the line was outside the door! I was already excited knowing that this place really had to be as good as I had heard. I decided to make my way through the hungry crowd to see if there was a bar area and lo and behold, there was! And as luck would have it (thank you Buddha!) there were 2 seats available right smack at the center of their long and beautiful bar area. I quickly planted my butt on a seat and signaled over to Ralf. Ha! Like I said, this place was super busy but luckily, we had what I can only described as the NICEST and most ATTENTIVE bartender I have ever had the pleasure of being served by. We waited quite a bit for him to take our drink order as he had a bar hand but no other bartender helping him out but when he finally got to us, he was all smiles, apologetic, and although Ralf wasnt planning on a beer, he gave him one due to the wait! How freaking sweet and awesome is that? So we were having our drinks, chatting it up, admiring the décor (the ornate ceiling is really beautiful) and enjoying our evening, We placed our food order and eagerly awaited as our senses were already being assaulted by all of the aromas emanating from the kitchen. We ordered the whole wheat Naan bread and the Chicken Tikka Masala (Medium Hot) and it was soooo good! It was cooked to perfection and it had just the right amount of spice to it and the medium hot was just perfect. It had quite a kick to it but nothing you cant handle. The sauce was thicker than others I have had in the past so I suspect there was some cream in there which would explain why it tasted so decadent and delicious. The Whole Wheat Naan was sweet and complimented the sauce perfectly. An order comes with only 2 pieces but that was ok because we had the Basmati Rice as well which was more than enough for us. The food, décor, atmosphere and more importantly, the SERVICE was on point and will have me coming back here again and again when I am at the Grove. I was so impressed I asked to speak to the manager. I wanted to personally thank him for a great evening. Too many times people only speak up when something goes wrong - we need to speak up when things goes "right" as well!

Boy!! Was this place packed when we walked in Wednesday evening. Indeed there was a good reason for that. As someone who visited India and tried many of the tastes it has to offer, I can truly say that Darbar is as close as I have tasted to the real thing yet. The main difference here is that the spiciness of the food is adjusted to the American pallet. Mild and medium are synonymous to "not hot at all". The medium-high I ordered started to show hints of spiciness but the real kicker came after we got (upon request) a side dish of crazy red pepper sauce that really put the heat on. The food in general was very tasty and aromatic - really took me back to India. We took a Samosa starter that was well prepared, chicken Masala with a side-dish of mushrooms Makhani and lamb chop Masala. All were great eats. All dishes had a very unique blend of tastes that almost perfectly replicated the food I remembered from Mumbai (minus the heat). Food comes with rice and the portions are good size and one entre would probably satisfy a hungry adult. I would have liked it better if they had a mix plate with smaller portions so that I could eat less and taste more but currently they dont have that option in the menu. The place is nicely designed - not to fancy, not to common. Nice hints of India here and there. TVs hung all around blast Bollywood songs and dance which I thought was a nice touch. The acoustics of the place is reasonable. One can have a decent conversation amid the hustle-and-bustle that is going around. The service was fine at the bar where we were sitting - a bit hectic and uneasy but overall kind and courteous. Definitely recommend a visit there for Indian food lovers and people that want to experience an authentic taste of India.

This was my favorite Indian restaurant in Miami, but I will never go back again. The service sucks! I went with my wife and baby for our wedding anniversary. The moment we walked in, they didnt know where to seat us with our baby, and I made reservations before specifying we had our baby with us. They find a table for us with four seats and we place our baby stroller where one of the seats are , so its out of the way of the walkway. The manager and sever debate over the table since now we were taking up two of their seats with our baby stroller. Then they move the table we were sitting at, to make room for two more customers, since they want to jam pack the place like sardines. The waiter was a bit aggressive in his manner, and the bus boy dropped some of my food on the floor when I asked to take it to go. Not to mentioned I ordered two pieces of garlic naan, was brought one very late, and when I asked for my second order of naan they bring two more and charge me for three. The manager saw the bus boy drop my naan and put it back in the takeout container, came over and apologized, but failed to give me a new order of naan. You lost a good customer.

The food is so amazing here I had to pause from my meal to write a review right away. Everything and everyone here is nothing short of AMAZING! From the ambience, to the staff, to the food, to the portion sizes, and even the other guests. My two friends and I were craving Indian food this evening. We first went to an Indian restaurant in Miami Springs and immediately left because of the horrid smell. I am so glad that we did! From the time that we entered Bombay Darbar, we were pleasantly greeted and engaged by staff. We were told that there may be a 20 minute wait, however they were able to get us a table in less than 10 minutes. We asked the other guests at tables surrounding us for suggestions and they all were repeat customers that came with good suggestions and awesome things to say. I knew once seated, even before receiving food, that I would be back. I am so grateful that we stumbled across Bombay Darbar. This is a must have if youre in Miami!
