11/1/2016~~Decided to eat at Ramshackle Cafe for our one year retirement anniversary. Hadnt been there for a few months. What a disappointment! First, a positive note: RC still has killer vodka tonics. I ordered my fav fish n chips. Coating on the fish was hard and crunchy, not their usual coating. And there was very little fish not like the previous orders. Fries looked like McDs but tasted like cardboard. Im thinking frozen...yuck. The food was hot but no taste. We went early around 3.30p so the place wasnt busy. The man behind us had to get up and walk over to the bar area where the waitress was talking to the bartender and other servers to ask for something (it was obvious he had a disability). So that was unacceptable. Will give RC another chance but forget the fish/chips. Took my 4 star down to 2. 10/20/2014~~Visited the area looking for retirement communities. Two years ago, we saw this but didnt stop. This trip, ate there twice! Parking is tight as the property is small but we managed with our Tundra. They have the best vodka tonics Ive ever had...just sayin. (and boy did we need drinks after looking at homes all day) Hubby had cobb salad (very good he said) and I wanted fish n chips but the waitress got confused and brought fish tacos. (oh brother) They were good but not a lot of fish...and spicy! Yikes...I cant eat spicy...shoulda sent it back...but I did manage to eat them all. (with the help of lotsa water) Love eating at local restaurants! Would def go back again...and again. :) 9/2015~~Visiting the area once again. I had the fish n chips which was dee-lish and hubby had another Cobb Salad. Both very yummy. I also drank a vodka tonic (same excuse as above..lol). Their drinks and prices are the best! This place gets crowded at lunchtime. We are moving to the area and Im sure well be hangin out at the Ramshackle. :)

Waitresses are negligent and rude. Manager was also rude, with little to no customer service skills. No excuse for being rude about someone being obviously upset that your employee charged a card twice... Once for us and once for three tables away, only to tell us to dispute it with our bank. 1) How does that even happen...?? Her face is on the card!! 2) I know very well you can stop payment on the card 3) even if you did stop payment you did NOTHING to satisfy our worries that the same waitress "corrected" it but also made the table three down pay in cash because you couldnt process their payment...because our card paid for them. 4) NOT EVEN A SORRY. NEGLIGENT. Every time Ive gone to ramshackles Ive had bad service (waiting for forever on ANYTHING, even a greet, food comes out cold, get wrong food, food is undercooked YOU NAME IT), I only go because my friends enjoy the food there. Tonight was the last straw. Absolutely disgusting behavior with your attitude. First review Ive ever made on a restaurant... And its only because it was the worst Ive seen a waitress. AND THEN have the audacity to get an attitude because I wanted an email confirming they canceled payment on my joint account. Had the audacity to raise her voice. Had the audacity to down my fiance. And had the audacity to tell me I shouldnt even be calling because its not my account and she already told my fiance. All because I wanted an e-mail confirming... We live in California I cant come down and ensure they take payment off and if I dispute I didnt want them trying to further my frustration by attempting to come charges over their negligence. Worst restaurant Ive ever been to, and thats saying something about LA.

Called for take out and asked about the wings the lady who answered the phone said, "we have 23 flavors in a very sarcastic tone and sat quietly." I said thank you hung up and looked the menu up online. There were 11 flavors mentioned, but we were inquiring on 3 of them and called back to speak with a more customer friendly waiter. Dana told us you arent going to speak to anyone else because Im doing take out and Im not going to read all 23 flavors out to you. I told her I just want to speak to someone who wouldnt mind answering our questions so can I speak to a manager. She replied, "I am the manager so what do you want to know?" We asked her about the flavors but her tone and service over the phone was so horrible I was scared I would be eating spit Neither was spending money there, at this point was worth it. They need to work on Danas people skills what a horrible manager maybe she should be washing dishes where she doesnt have to make people feel uncomfortable about eating there. Also update your online menu so you dont have to speak and explain yourself its not like youre selling anything. How dare I question what this resturant has to offer. Bottom line Dana is rude!! Any other time Ive eaten here the waiters were awesome.

Food is like any other place. For a place that has been in leesburg for 20 plus years i would think they would have their own type of dish. Burger was dry. Waiter didnt greet us. He walked by our table a couple of times and we still didnt know his name.. the fried mushrooms were the only thing good from this visit. My husband had to ask for more water, when the waiter could see from the table he was sitting at see that he had no water in his cup. The other waitresses we too busy counting their tips at a table next to the front door. I feel that is unprofessional and the conversations they were having should have taken place in the back. I am a manager for a long time. With food service and now currently customer service. I train all my employees to not do anything in the front of my store that would make any customer feel uncomfortable.. i hope this place of business can make it better. All so this was our first and last time going here. Thank you

This restaurant offers a variety of food with interesting twists in flairs. There are great salads, wraps, burgers, etc. I really like the fish and chips when I chose to order fried food. The batter is light and not greasy. The fish is cod. They also offer a fish of the day selection at market price. The fish tacos are delicious. I even eat the cole slaw though I am not a fan of it. The decor is old Leesburg, Florida photos, license plates, eclectic. They have a bar but I havent sat in that area. Dress is whatever you choose as long as you have on a shirt and shoes as required by the health department, I think. There is a lunch menu. They stay busy so plan a late lunch ir early dinner

Food is hit-or-miss, but usually hit. The wings are the best item on the menu and I always get an order whenever I go there. The other items arent as good, but the sandwiches and burgers are usually pretty good. Never had a complaint with the wait staff as they are always pretty friendly and the service is almost always very good. All in all, a very good place to go for pretty decent food and a nice change from the chain restaurant oversaturation.
