I was originally exposed and have 100% identified with Texas BBQ. Now that I live in the South, Im attempting to broaden my horizons. I wont lie, after 100s of lbs. of ruined meat, I can smoke legitimate BBQ. But, I do my best to remain open and honest. I was very excited for this place and had high hopes. The staff was very nice and pleasant. I ordered the ribs and sausage. The sausage was ok. With the sauce, it had a little kick. I would absolutely eat that sausage again. The ribs...WTH? First I was asked if I wanted rub. Uhhhh, rub? I stared at the employee, squinted at the employee and thought, shes kidding. Nope, she asked me the question again. I was very confused, but replied, "wwwwiiiithhhh rub", as my head slightly shifted to the left, while remaining eye contact. I must have looked like I just glazed over from a massive bong rip. The ribs were brought out and seared on the gas flame. Served, they looked like a skinned armadillo. I still withdrew judgement at this point and waited until I was ready to eat them. The ribs were neither overcooked or undercooked. It was sort of this middle ground, where brown meets white, but you dont want to call it tan just yet. The taste, well, the overwhelming waft of gas on the pallet is not what I normally associate with baby backs. I literally could taste gas on the back of my pallet. I felt really bad for the employees, the couple sitting behind me and all future patrons. I wont be participating in this form of Sport BBQ again. I found the cost didnt quite represent the quality Im used to. One or 2 day old ribs, heated up on a gas grill, doesnt count as BBQ. Not even close. And if the employee has to ask me or anyone else about whether we want rub or not, you might as well start boiling your ribs, because youve already lost.

Mrs. Smokeys doesnt know BBQ at All !!!!!! DISGUSTING BBQ. I ordered from here last week April 9, 2017 I must warn others in my area who truly want great tasting BBQ Mrs Smokeys isnt it. I live in Palm Beach Gardens and I wont be eating here again. The meat is poor quality and tough as hell. The spare ribs I ordered I could have did a better job of cooking it myself on a Naked and Afraid survival show. The BBQ sauce tasted awful.. If this place concentrated on getting their act together with cooking BBQ instead of mounting flat screen TVs on the wall with old western movies or mounting a train on the ceiling. They would have lines out the door but no this place shouldnt even be given one star by me. I recommend anyone living in PGA or Jupiter area to visit Troys BBQ in Boynton Beach or McCrays BBQ on Military next to Walmart these two business are small but they are outstanding when in comes to BBQ. Mrs. Smokeys needs to close up shop until they figure it out or get someone on the outside who can show these people on how BBQ is done. I know for a fact how to do BBQ Im from Oklahoma and we know BBQ. This place needs help. Dont waste your time or money go to Troys in Boynton Beach or McCrays in West Palm Beach instead. BTW let me add the potato salad was nasty store bought out of a tub not homemade the corn bread if you call it that was a ball of grease more like a hush puppy greasy heart attack waiting to happen. I leave good reviews when deserved but I had to tell others this place has no idea on how to prepare BBQ.

Used to be pretty good. We hadnt been in about 2 months as weve been traveling around the country. We had recommended it to some friends and all 3 couples reported that it "wasnt as good as we had described". So we had to check it out today (6/20). D I S A P P O I N T E D! ...to say the least. I ordered the pork plate and got a plate full of fat with a few VERY TINY pieces of actual pork mixed in. The collards tasted like 10 year old "c-rations" (if you dont know what that is, ask a veteran). Definitely our last trip here. Its a shame. Weve been there at least 40-50 times over the years, and it was always pretty good (& close by). Even the little shack they used to own down in Lake Park was better. This place has gone down hill. Dont know where theyre buying their pork, but Mrs. Smoky needs to get her money back. Canned collards suk. Cole slaw from some supermarket is just plain... Thats it! Just PLAIN. Would not ever recommend again. Update... Thanks to Mrs. Smokeys for responding to my review. We may give it another shot. This is the first time wed ever had a bad experience here, and we used to eat here a lot. If it werent so TERRIBLE this past visit, Id have never left the review in the first place. Id have just chalked it up to "every restaurant is entitled to ONE bad day" (ONLY ONE!), but it was so bad, it took ALL DAY and a few adult beverages to make the taste go away. Well try your restaurant again in the next few weeks.

This is a review of Mrs. Smokeys BBQ Restaurant in Abacoa Plaza on Donald Ross Road. Cons - listed in order of aggravation: Very Noisy - large exhaust fans too close to the eating area. Hot - probably 78+ degrees inside. Maybe their AC was broken that day. Plastic knives and forks for indoor dining. Sides served in styrofoam bowls for indoor dining. No sauces on the table. Movie playing in the back. Pros: Baby back ribs delicious, tender. Decent quantity. I chose the mild/medium mix BBQ sauce - good flavor and slightly spicy. Read the other reviews about sauce warning. Collards - leafy and slightly undercooked but good flavor. Baked beans - Gooey. Not too sweet. Some zing. Good flavor. In summary: Good place for take out but bad atmosphere for eating in. Great place for loud talkers. They wont be heard by anyone at the next table due to the exhaust fan noise. For indoor dining, I much prefer the cool and quiet atmosphere of the famous BBQ restaurant located in North Palm Beach.

Recently tried Mrs Smokeys for the first time. Wow! Ive driven passed it for two years but never stopped in because all the BBQ Ive gotten in Florida so far has sucked. NOT THIS PLACE! First thing I tried was the Sticky Bones appetizer. Fried Baby Back Ribs. Fried baby backs!! Do I need to say more?!!?! Had a Chicken & Chopped Pork Platter. The chicken with just dry rub was amazing. I got sauce on the side but never used it because the dry rub was so good. The chopped pork was lean and fresh. The counter guy told me they smoke all their meats on premise. For dessert, I bought a biscuit with ice cream at the recommendation of the manager. Holy Moly. Amazing! I left so full and Im already getting the craving to go back already. Haha! Loved it.

Went for lunch and we had the pulled pork/ brisket sandwiches and bb ribs with smoked chicken soup. All were moist and pretty decent smoked bbq however our disappointment was with the lack of sauce selection (only vinegar with degrees of hot no sweet) and the subway sandwich shop business model. I dont want to stand there and order for the entire family....not at this price point. Do I tip the girl who brings our food to the table?....do I throw out my food when im done and leave my tray on top of the garbage can by the front door?....no the nice girl says shell take care of it. For the price, table service is a must and would have made the experience one worth returning for.....this will be our take out joint in the future.
