We had the most expensive dish at $30.The food was good but the service was not. For starters we entered the place & waited for almost 10 min to be seated & never greeted, as when we entered the Latin girl with forearm tattoos just looked at us without speaking & when I said table for six she went through a door beside her & did not return, a young tall kid came out & took us to the end of the restaurant side & seated us.Upon sitting our waitress "Pablita" took our drink order. When spoken to, she would barely let u finish speaking & was already turning her face/body as if in a rush at 5:30pm with a half empty place! She brought half our drink order because she never gave a chance for my daughter to place her order before turning away like I mentioned, & to make matters worse she practically slammed/ threw the glasses on the table; again like if she were in a rush with a half empty restaurant! I didnt know if it was unconsciously or not but very noticable & striking! As she was turning away at full speed again without noticeable reason, my wife stopped/ called her & brought to her attention the missing drink/order for my daughter. She departed & the order was actually filled by the tall kid that seated us who was quite well mannered/ unstressed. I say unstressed, but there was no visible sign of stress in this lady, she was just rude! When she later returns to take our food order, we asked for the gator appetizer & she took our menus as if done which was stunning! Luckily my wife had kept hers still & when later she returned with our appetizer, my wife asked her for some bread rolls " like you have just served the gentleman that just got seated over there & them as well". She made a gesture of compliance & returned with the bread basket again practically tossing it at the table.Returning to take our main course order, she finally returns & we took turns placing it with the sole menu we had left. The was served & again no complaints except for the service. While eating she passed by once & asked me if everything was ok, & thereafter for dessert & check out addressed me & sorta ignored my wife & daughter. Being observant, we were able to pick out a tall black gentleman & two other male servers which in our opinion were the better more customer oriented servers we desired. I gave her the minimal 10% in the hopes that it would be enough cut for her to notice. Upon exiting, at the lobby again our little ones were entertained by the fat fish & turtles swimming in the floor tank & while doing so I took the opportunity to asked one of the male servers if the restaurant retained any % of his tips, to which he said: " only the 6% tax when left on the card, when in cash, all is mine." Well this rules out part of the disgruntled employee theory for tips, unless they get paid miserably, I really dont understand it! I dunno, but some customer service training is definately necessary if this place is gonna survive. A refined older lady sitting beside our table seemed uncomfortable, & upon talking to her on the way out, she professed to be unsatisfied with her main course as the fish had been frozen & was not at all fresh/ something to be served at a restaurant! She said she had been in the business & was now a traveler/ connoisseur, & "having witnessed your service & my foods quality" vowed to never return & instead warn all her friends & acquaintances of the experience( She seemed like a snow bird). Wow! The place is very attractive, the atmosphere nice, the music nice & not too low or loud but the customer service & courtesy by some LACKING! Judge for yourself like I usually do, but we will never return! Sad, as I work in an organization that has approx 40-50 employees here in town, the lowest wage is $32 hr, which would bring good business to this place as the town seems to lack a good amount of restaurants for us to eat in with our families. We are constantly driving up to Miami to spend our $. I cant say I wasnt warned.

Service was brisk for drink orders for my party of 11 with a very bubbly and friendly server. Appetizers came quickly also but then the service fell to pieces. Half of the party received their meals and it was what seemed like another ten plus minutes before the other half received their meals. The first half of the party was closing in on their final portions by the time the remaining orders arrived. Then one person’s entrée did not arrive with the last half. We waited an additional ten plus minutes with much apology and frantic running around before this final meal arrived long after the rest of the party was finished. Apologies were given with the promise of having our bill adjusted. When the bill did come, there was no adjustment. I asked that it be granted and another ten plus minutes of running around occurred before it came back with the proposal from the manager that we accepted. Another ten minutes passed before the revised bill arrived. Then the credit card reader failed and I waited an additional 15 minutes before I was able to pay my bill. One would expect a higher level of service for a larger sized party. The appetizers were very good and the entrees were acceptable, but the service etiquette and ability was poor. Ambience was okay except that our bench seat had a nice big rip out of it.

We stopped in to get some seafood. We started with the sauteed alligator appetizer and it was spectacular with a egg based coating and a lemon butter sauce. It was by far the best gator I have had. My wife had the house specialty shrimp in lemon sauce which came with rice and spinach. She really liked the dish. I had the whole fried yellow fin snapper which came with a corn salsa, plantains, and yellow rice dish. I was very happy with my meal, but the fish was just a bit overdone for my liking. The atmosphere was pretty nice, but the service was a bit lacking (possibly the waiter had too many tables, but was very slow although polite). I would likely come back if in the area and would highly recommend the gator appetizer.
