Expected much more because of rave reviews and the absolutely stunning picture menu online. My first visit - seems like a step above fast food. Granted, Indian curries are more about flavors than texture - cooked down to a paste of aromas and taste bud stimulants, but I left hungry, confused, and feeling as if I had been served poorly. Maybe I shouldnt have expected the online menu to be actually served. I saw a wonderful presentation of jumbo tandoori shrimp... I ordered and recieved 4 shrimp on a platter of almost cooked onion. $25 for 4 shrimp. Pic shows twice that and a better presentation. The Kashmiri Naan we ordered? Paste smeared inside Naan. Look at the inspiring dish pictured on the online teaser. Not what we received. really, I had to Look at the menu pics to justify my confusion. My wife ordered a Bhuna Lamb curry and recieved Rogan Josh Lamb. Maybe they were short on Bhuna and didnt think shed notice the switch. We didnt till I looked at the online presentations after we returned home. Again, Im not all that familiar with Indian cuisine - realized the change-up only when reviewing the online version menu. I think that being out of the cultural loop put us at a disadvantage. From other reviews I can see this is a place for typical Indian comfort food, things immediately recognizable to those familiar. But I do feel we were taken in by a deceptively arranged online virtual package that is far from the actual offerings. What else is new?

As a British man who really enjoys a good curry, this place was an absolute disappointment. I should have questioned the restaurant just off of its name... "Indian Harbor"??? Really?? The service was very strange, we were served by about 6 different people and one guy wandering around in a suit. Not sure if he was the owner but it was very odd. Service was slow, has two wrong orders. We had ordered a meat platter starter and received a vegetable one. We ordered a lamb madras and a chicken tikka masala. I ordered the madras spicy and it was weaker than korma, more like eating custard. The chicken tikka has the strangest taste as though it was cooked with tomato soup, they need to use less Campbells. After the disappointing starter and main we ordered mango ice cream (kulfi). I was very strangely served with whipped cream for decoration. Ice cream and whipped cream??? Then to finish it off, trying to get the check was hard and then it came to $95. For a starter, main desert and two beers, this was way too high for the service and quality. This is such a shame, South Florida needed a good Indian restaurant. I guess we will to keep waiting because I will never return here.

So i just had lunch at Indian Harbor and Oh My Goodness! The best Indian food in all of south FL. A common issue I find in most indian resturants the chicken tikka marsala and tandori chicken tend to be dry. Definetly not the case here. Everything is so juicy and delicious. For those who are not a fan of spice the food is mad for those not used to it but there are options for us who love the spice. Some thing from my personnal feelings when i leave other indian places the food is good but when i leave it feels like a led ball in my stomach and i wanna ly down and nap for an hour and 2 plates i walk out mimicing a zombie. "Uuuuuuhhhhh" But at indian harbor this is not the case the food sits light in my stomach and its fresh and leaving i just feel good. In no small part to the staff and the owner. The staff was kind and considerate and the owner is the coolest guy extremely personnable and easy to talk to really takes a great experience to an excelent one. So in closing great tasting quality food, great atmosphere, great people, excelent experience.

This place is amazing and has incredible food and if I could give more than 5 stars I would! I was blown away by the quality, taste, presentation of the dishes. After eating here a few times I wanted to have the food catered for my rehearsal dinner and the owner, Anil, was absolutely incredible in making this happen. I had my rehearsal dinner at The Stranahan House and not only did he help organize everything from start to finish, when I walked in the day of I was blown away with how beautifully he set the whole thing up (from scratch). All my 96 guests raved about the food which was plentiful and displayed beautifully and it ended up being such an incredible night. I wished I could have used him for my wedding dinner as well. I definitely recommend the Indian Harbor to dine at but if you need a caterer for a special event, Anil will go out of his way to make sure you have an incredible event with delicious food that is exactly the way you envision it!!

One of the best restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. Weve eaten three times at Indian Harbor Restaurant and had exceptionally good meals each time. If you like authentic "Indian food" than try Anils Indian Harbor located in 5 mins drive from beach. Indian Harbor restaurant is unpretentiously perfect. Atmosphere : An elegantly modern dining room that has character without lapsing into exotic tropes. Servers are personable, outgoing, eager to explain. Sound Level Moderate. Recommended :Somosa, paneer Kulcha; dosa, butter chicken; mutton masala ; Dal Tadka, Mutton biryani, Paneer dopyaza, chicken vindaloo; paneer makhani malai. Three courses, four courses. Varieties of naan, papad and above all mango Ice cream. The menu feels personal, too. It reminds....the relaxed, delicious modern food that Americans with Indian root. - @ Atlanta

We showed up and no one was inside. After a few minutes we were approached by a man carrying a knife who looked at us and said "we are not open". He then looked at his watched and said, yea we are, but we are not ready and told us to take any table. After my toddler began to get restless of five minutes of sitting with no one offering water or menues, we caught someone and ordered off the menu and the staff kept trying to get us not to saying it was all the same on the buffet. I know what my child eats and insisted on a menu item, which they took the order for but never made. They included it on the bill and took it off when we pointed it out. No apologies. Everyone was rude and it was very tense. The people after us were also scolded for taking care of themselves. The food was whatever.

Went there on a Monday evening at around 6pm with a buddy of mine, there were 3 occupied tables at that point. We ordered our food and waited, waited, waited. 45 minutes later we asked again, they said it was ready, 15 minutes later I told them to please cancel, they said it was ready at that point. Asked for our stuff to go, paid and left. They may have been short-staffed that night, I understand, but there was no communication at all about a prolonged service time. I wouldve appreciated some honesty right off the bat, and wouldve chosen to go elsewhere without holding it against them. My quest for finding good Indian food in east Lauderdale continues...
