My husband, 6 year old son and I went to Marsalas last night for dinner. We arrived at 6:40 and were told it would be a 15 minute wait while there were several empty tables in the dining area. This was not a problem since my son wanted pizza and was willing to wait. We were actually seated in less than 10 minutes. There was also another party of 3 that arrived several minutes after us and they were seated at the same time at a table diagonal from us. We waited to place our drink orders, and then placed our appetizer (cheesey garlic bread and mozzarella sticks, my sons favorites) and our dinner order (an 8 inch pizza for my son, cheese calzone with extra cheese and garlic, and a chicken ceasar salad). We sat waiting over 30 minutes with no appetizer, while the other table that was seated diagonal from us had their appetizer and pizza. Our food arrived, the salad and calzone, and the pizza 5 minutes later, no appetizer. We understand this is the middle of season, restaurants are busy, but we live here year round and thought that this was going to be a weekly visit to this restaurant. NEVER AGAIN!!!! Our server was hostile when we mentioned that the other table got their appetizers and was 1/2 way through their meal and our dinner was here, no appetizers, and no pizza for my son. At this point we were very upset and when she offered to bring out the appetizer she had only put in the mozzarella sticks, she had forgotten to put in part of our appetizer order! We did not want them after our dinner had arrived. When she finally brought our bill she had taken 25% off, or so she said because the math did not add up. I was more than willing to pay for what we had eaten and ordered. The manager walked by our table several times and talked to the tables around us but did not come over to us, purposefully ignoring us. My husband went to talk to him after we paid the bill and he basically hid! We will not be returning here anytime soon, which is sad because the food was good, but the customer service, poor at best!!!!

Marsalas used to be our favorite place and over the years weve probably taken at least six other couples there. However, a few years ago it started becoming very hit or miss. Sometimes the pizza sauce was "off" and about every other time we went they would seriously burn the crust. A couple times they screwed up the pizza and made it wrong and we ended up waiting like 40 minutes. We kept going there even though we knew that there was about a 50% chance that the pizza would get screwed up. The worst thing is that they were very unapologetic when they screwed up and they NEVER EVER offered to comp us or take anything off the bill. The last straw was what happened during our last visit... We went for lunch and there was one other couple dining at that time, so they clearly werent busy. The owners son was sitting at the end of the bar, there was a bartender, 2 servers, and the bus lady. Nancy, the owners daughter, also a server, came to the table and told us that someone else would be waiting on us as she hadnt had a break yet. Apparently she failed to communicate this to the other server because we sat there for 10 minutes and no one ever came to take our order or even get drinks started so we got up and left. It was the last time we will ever give them our business. The quality of food has declined over the years and these people clearly dont appreciate their customers or understand the meaning of good customer service. If youre looking for a really great pizza that is perfect every time, I recommend Pinos in Bonita Springs in the Publix shopping plaza.

Food was good... Not bad at all, but customer service was horrible... We waited 40 min for our pizza to be ready and there wasnt many clients. Even a couple came long time after us and we got our pizza at the same time. The waiter wasnt that friendly with us, never offered to bring the house complementary bread... There was a party of 3 that came 5 min after us and they were fully served at once. This was really disrespectful, I hope we would have had a great dinner experience in our gateway but no... I dont want to say that was racism but I dont know why the service wasnt good for us. And believe it or not customer service is the key of clients coming back, and even though pizza after all wasnt bad, Ill go to another restaurant when going on my way to Tampa. Definitely not coming back. Improve your service, show respect and equality. Hope this message make the owner or manager think about a better way to to transform business and have a real and respectful engagement relationship with local clients or passing by clients for us to want to stop by a second time.

This place should be in the hall of fame of Pizza places. When you think of Marsala style Pizza, your first thought should be of New York style Pizza. Consistently good. Affordable, no nonsense Pizza. Its a throwback Pizza place. The family is always there to welcome you by name It reminds me of taking the 6 Train to Soundview/Morrison station. Getting of to have an original new York style Pizza, Its that good!. Plus that New York style attitude really brings you back to home. Thanks for all the good memories. I will continue to send my friends and family and all my customers.

Called in a to-go order, was told 30 minutes. Stopped in after 30 minutes, they took my money and said it would be right out. After 20 more minutes I asked how much longer and they said it was coming right out. 15 more minutes I said that I wanted to know what was going on they then said they were just putting the food in. No apologies or anything. At that point I demanded my money back and left. Never going back......

2nd time. I hated it my wife kinda like it. Ugly strip mall decor. Italian food, not by a long shot. I ordered a meatballs and linguine. The sauce was can food quality. Not meat but it said meat on menu. My wife had gnocchi that was just ok. I sent back mine. They included a salad of lousy Romaine lettuce.bread was a joke, thin sliced, non descript and reheated.

Total Buffoons working here in the kitchen! Ordered a couple pizzas first one came out and the next one didnt! I asked after several minutes and they said it will be out shortly- oh about a half hour later! Idiots! Pizza is ok, service sucks the big one! Best bet is order carry out, but theyd probably screw that up to! Go somewhere else is the play!

Poor customer service. We have eaten here in past and to be fair the food was great. Unfortunately they are under staffed and cant seem to figure out the problem. This is our second year here and they are plagued with the same issue. Even when admitting to staffing issues the staff didnt seem to care. Unfortunate. Very ineffective group.

One of the worst Italian restaurants, ever. Eggplant parm was over the hill when served; chicken parm had awful, canned tomato sauce. Waiter seemed annoyed that we interrupted his back of the room chat fest with a co worker. Ill try them for pizza, as most of their positive comments are related to pizza, not plated food from their menu.
