The price for their cortadito might seem a bit steep (& if this were anywhere else but Miami, that would be a non-issue), but this aint your average cafetería. Just off Ponce De León, Cafe Curuba has the right atmosphere, its neither hot nor freezing, not too small, nor crowded but a place where you can keep your conversations rather conversational. The place is cozy and just right. The Clever Brew is worth every penny. (Just dont pollute it with any sugar or cream.) If you havent yet, I think it might be the right type of coffee with which to go black and never go back. The Colombian ground was delicious and perfectly complemented by the pandebono con guayaba. My only regret is that I had no one there with whom to share it. That said, I got all my work done.

This is a fabulous little cafe just a couple blocks off of Miracle Mile in the heart of Coral Gables and just steps from Ponce de Leon Blvd. If youre not paying attention youll walk right by it! Great staff... great energy... great vibe... and of course fabulous coffee! I like scheduling my Coral Gables-based meetings here so I can experience their cappuccino. I used to do Starbucks on Ponce and Miracle very often, but its a total nightmare to find parking. At Cafe Caruba though... parking is plentiful at any time of day! Stop by and stay for a latter or a cappuccino. I have no doubt youll enjoy it!

Simple, spare coffee shop with great coffee (had espresso and a cafe latte). The espresso was thicker than any Ive ever had before, and delicious -- I will be back for more of that. Fair warning, on my first visit we were served in paper cups, but that means the coffee isnt cooled by the porcelain. The second visit the crossiant was put into a plastic container -- I said I was eating here and got a paper plate, and my coffee in porcelain. I conclude that you should for here when ordering. Asked for a hot chocolate for my daughter and understood that they did it cold... It was a delicious chocolate shake.

My absolute favorite coffee shop in the Gables-- this place really is great. They keep a large variety of premium coffees under the counter (including Panther) and prepare them perfectly; clever and drip. Their pour-overs are perfectly consistent and all of the sandwiches Ive tried have been spectacular. My favorite items are the guava and cheese croissants and "ultimate" cookies. Good vibe and staff too, its an all-around best for sure.

Those who can appreciate a good cup of coffee will recognize Curuba as one of Coral Gables best places to stop for some coffee and delicious pastries, parfaits, and fresh made goodies. Whether you like a latte, cortadito, espresso, or Americano (all of which I have sampled), you are going to walk out happy. I also think Curuba has some of the best home made pastries. You pretty much have to fly to paris to get a better croissant.

UPDATED - I have come to this spot for years. It remains consistently great. The house made baked items, sandwiches, juices and coffees are fresh and top of the line. If you are reading this review and considering where to go, stop reading, ignore Starbucks and get to Cafe Curuba. You wont regret it.

I love this place. Its an independent coffee shop that provides a highly caffeinated alternative to Starbucks. Its owner Debbie not only grinds the beans but bakes amazing cakes and other sweets. Located near my Miami law firm, it is walking distance, I have been going every day.

It was my first time visiting Cafe Curuba, its nicely decorated and they have soft music playing in the background. The owner, Debbie, is very welcoming and the food is delicious. I had the Manchego sandwhich, it was superb, and would highly recommend it!

tasty sandwich! I ordered the turkey mozzarella pesto and portion/quality was good. kind of small place, limited seating but not quite as busy compared to other restaurants in the area, which is perfect. good for a quick bite and on the go occasions.
