Its really amazing when you walk into a venue and immediately feel as though youve been transported elsewhere. Thats the feeling you get when you walk into their outdoor garden area. It is reminiscent of what I can only describe as a quaint English garden somewhere in England. Regardless of how hot it is, you just don;t feel it. They have so many trees and floor fans that you constantly feel a sweet breeze. Their menu (and I mean the actual physical menu, not the food) is like a book filled with historical information regarding Coconut Groove. It is so pretty and it really goes well with the nostalgic garden theme. The food is outstanding. I have been here several times, including during Miami Spice, and I have never been disappointed. I have had their lamb chops, grilled salmon, sauteed vegetables, salads, skirt steak, crab cakes, and many of their desserts and Ive never been disappointed. They also have a very good wine list which as you know, it quite important to me ;) and their by the glass wines are good and reasonably priced. Pedro was our server last time I visisted and he was awesome. I have always had great service there! They have live jazz on the weekends and it is GREAT. It is a trio that adds just that "special something" to the evening. It makes everything so much more enjoyable (yes, I love jazz so I am being a bit bias here). If you sit outside, have dinner, and do not feel the need to use the restroom, do so anyway because if you don;t, you will miss seeing the inside which is equally as nice! Gorgeous photographs, large dining areas, and all around beautiful. There is a parking garage next door and plenty of street parking and a few parking lots. Give it a shot - you wont regret it.

Were do I start. Lets start by saying that I made reservations for a large party for my engagement party. I had family from far meet us at the restaurant for this very special day that only comes once in a life time. As soon as I walked in I was wow what a beautiful place. Then the problems started. I made reservations for 20 people there was only 15 chairs. The manager said that unfortunately their wasnt more tables mind you I reserved almost one week in advance. Then the manager was able to get us a table which later took away from us to give it to another party. It took 2 hours to get our order and thats because a waiter mentioned that the kitchen was closing and actually came to us. I told him that no one came to take our order and thats why it took long. Finally when the food did come (another hour) it was horrible. I had lamb that tasted like cat urine no I havent had cat urine but I have smelled it before. The pot pie was a soup like entree, pasta taste like milk, mash potatoes were cold, onion soup was cold, lobster bisque tasted like tomatoes soup, bread was stale, the mac and cheese wasnt cooked thoroughly, even the drinks taste like water which we had to wait 30 min just to get them. We had a waitress that spilled a drink on one of my guest and didnt offer a napkin. The waitress always had an attitude and to think that this is like an upscale atmosphere people would treat you different. Our bill came for almost $900 which we asked for separate bills and they refuse to do it. I wouldnt have mind spending the money if it wasnt for the long wait, horrible service (not all waiters) and the horrific food. Oh by the way the water bottles that are on the table saids sparkle water and it was tap water.

Decided to come here for my college graduation dinner. Had a reservation for 8:15pm via OpenTable. When we arrived the restaurant claimed they had no record of the reservation. Yet after a short wait we were taken to an extremely small table that could not even fit four adults, let alone my party of five and it was literally a foot away from the loud band playing. You could not even hear the person next to you speak. We asked to be moved to a larger, more reasonable table, and we were told by the hostess to sit by the bar to wait. We proceeded to sit at the bar for about 30 minutes before we went to the hostess again because she undoubtedly had forgotten about us. She tried to sit us down at another table that was the exact same size as before (which cannot accommodate five adults) and that was located right at the entrance. We politely explained that the table was for four people and the hostess responded by saying, "Well just stick another chair in there." At this point we asked to see the manager to help resolve the issue. The manager, Rafael Porais, explained that he was "too busy" and that he already offered us a table, even though the table was not meant for a party of our size. He also failed to recognize that we had a reservation that was not honored. There were also other people complaining as well that their reservations were not being honored. This whole ordeal took over an hour and resulted in my family and I having to find a different restaurant on a Friday night at 9:30pm, which is nearly impossible. I would like to thank the Peacock Garden Cafe and Rafael Porais for ruining my graduation celebration and I hope that this individual is dealt with accordingly.

We held our annual Christmas Party here for the first time and were beyond impressed. The staff was courteous, attentive and went above and beyond for us. They aided us in setting up, obliged to every request we had and made the party pleasant and run effortlessly and without a hitch. The food was AMAZING! We had the chicken and steak dinner menu with the flatbread and salad starters and the keylime pie and brownie dessert. The steak was excellent. It was tender, flavorful and right up there with any high end steak restaurant and the keylime pie was to die for! It was one of the best key lime pies I have every had and compared to any you would get in the keys. We only heard praises from our guests over the chicken and all the other items that were served. We would highly recommend this venue for any event you may be having from bridal showers, rehearsal dinners to Christmas parties. They can do it all. The only complaint we had was that they did not have a large selection for the open bar but were accommodating in serving items we brought.

I came here with my girlfriend to celebrate our anniversary, I must say that as soon as we walked in, we fell in love with the setting of the restaurant. It is certainly a beautiful place for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner. It does not matter what occasion or time of day, this is a great place to come and have some good food. My only issue with the restaurant was the fact that I was seated literally an hour and ten minutes after my reservation. Basically if you make a reservation it gives you some sort of advantage, but it does not guarantee you will have a table. However, once we were seated, the experience was pleasant and I would definitively like to go back for some brunch as Ive been told by my friends that it is phenomenal.
