The sushi is fantastic- no doubt! However I will never go back because of the service. We had a reservation (party of 8, nothing crazy) which noted this was a surprise birthday. We were there 15 minutes before our reservation. We waited about 20 minutes (5 minutes past our reservation time) and asked the hostess about our table. She told us they were setting it up. We saw that they did and assumed wed be seated. Half an hour later (after the birthday girl arrived) we ended up seating ourselves. We tried and tried to get the hostesses attention prior to that but she completely ignored us. It was unbelievable! After we were seated service took forever. The tables around us were angry at the service too. A couple told us they had asked for their check 40 minutes ago and were still waiting for it. Oddly enough, the place didnt seem short staffed. It was almost funny when the sushi chef started yelling at the waitresses to move it. There are other sushi places that seem to want my business more so I wont be back here. Its a shame that their great sushi chefs are encumbered by such a poor wait staff.

Although the food was good... once it actually came out, it was completely trumped by the horrible service and unfriendly atmosphere! Dont waste your money, you can get 10 times better service at a McDonalds and its a fraction of the cost. It took about an hour to receive our appetizer seeweed salad, and we were two of five customers sitting in the restaurant. All the sushi chefs looked as if they had anger management issues, and made the whole expererience very uncomfortable! And the waitresses (all 6) were hardly ever around. I would have had an easier time getting a glass of water at a Winghouse on a night of UFC, same goes for ordering and the check. I would not recommend this place to a single person!!! Absolutely one of the worst experiences ever!!!!!!!

I have been here at least 10 times together and my boyfriend has been going for a couple years now. Everytime we go we try a new specialty roll which are all amazing and very filling. They can get a bit pricy, but its completely worth it. Our favorite is the volcano. The less exciting rolls are just as great. We always get the mexican and tampa. Weve never had a bad experience with the food, the service is usually good, but when theyre busy they may forget a drink or forget to refill it. The onion soup is very good as well, we always start with that. Its our favorite restaurant and we try to go whenever we can.

The food was absolutely delicious! The service was great. We asked to sit outside. The atmosphere was loud and busy on a Friday night during the speed boat races weekend. The price for the food was all in all a good deal. We ordered 8-rolls of avocado sushi, deep fried (extra charge), and that was expected. Plus we ordered a Salmon Terriyaki entree that came with soup and salad. Split between two, we were more than satisfied. For dessert we enjoyed the vanilla mochi. The total of the meal was a little over $30. Totally worth a try!

Stopped by here while on vacation at Clearwater. We ordered only the sushi and while there wasnt anything particularly memorable about it, the fish was fresh and very good. It was all very basic which makes me wish it had been a little cheaper, but seeing as how we really wanted sushi and they were the only place on the island, it was a pleasant experience all around. The sushi chef was very friendly and the place was beautifully decorated with a great ambiance.

My husband and I went to Kiku after reading the favorable reviews. We ordered 4 signature rolls figuring they should be good. While the sushi was decent, the rolls were all very small. They were the size of most regular spicy tuna rolls, not what we were used to for "signature rolls". They also make very liberal use of scallions in the rolls instead of the more usual avocado, cucumber, etc. It all made for a rather uni-dimensional taste and texture.

The food was good, and the service was decent, but we were disturbed before the end of our visit.... I noticed that the sushi chef was picking skin off of his lip and then did not wash his hands before making the next customers items....rather disturbing to ask what else he did since the last time he washed his hands. safe to say we will not be visiting again, though had we not had that sight the review would have been great.

What I liked: fresh Sushi and traditional Sushi bar atmosphere. What could be better: prep was a bit slow even when not busy. My order was wrong in one instance. The ahi carpaccio was overly smothered in aioli mayo - but if u like mayo I guess that would be a good thing for u. Overall its a fine place and well located if u are staying at the beach and want Sushi.

The wait time isnt that long, given only 3 customers in store that night. Food quality is excellent, properly prepared sushi rice is used. however i find they served inferior grade wasabi with the sushi. Why not use the better ingredient when you did pay much attention to details ?

If you want to wait an hour and 45 minutes for a sushi roll, get ignored by your server, and hear the chef yell: "the order is ready", because the servers are in the back smoking cigarrettes, go to this place, it wont disappoint you at all!

This place is awesome! The food is great, yummy every time! The service is fast and reliable. The only thing I would change is their location, its a very nice resturant on the 2nd floor of a shopping center. I recommend it!

Honestly horrible. Ive been here in the past and everything was good. Today all 4 of our meals were gross. Old fish, no ice in our waters and they play the no speak English. We will not return here again.

Sushi wasnt bad, but charging $2.50 per tea and $2 for an extra bowl of rice makes little sense and neither does adding 20% gratuity automatically for a party of 6, 2 of whom are small kids.

Can sometimes be very good, but at other times be frustratingly underwhelming. Sometimes takes an hour for a simple 3-person take out order to be fulfilled, even when no ones in there.

Come here only if you love sushi. Cost me $20 for six Saba sushi, miso, and a glass of water. The fish wasnt fresh. And when I got home I fixed a sandwich because I wasnt full.

A little on the pricey side but the Ocean Roll was absolutely amazing. Delicate flavors and decent serving sizes. Dont go for the deep fried rolls, they fall apart.
