Dear TGI Friday Staffs, I hope this comments find you well. I am writing to comment a serious complaint on the service I got at TGI Fridays. I had a meal at TGI Fridays in Washington DC with my friend for a celebration on Dec 12th. The exact location is 2100 Pennsylvania Ave NW Washington, DC. I was expecting a great service and food as I extremely love the food there. However, the service I got on that day was terrible. Right after I got my seat from the host, I waited for the server so that I could make an order, but I could not order because the server never came back to us after providing me some water. Moreover, since the server did not give me utensils, I could not eat the food for more then 15 minutes. Therefore, the food turned cold and I barely could eat it. The worst part is that the host scolded me like he was scolding a child when I asked him for utensils. He yelled at me and said “Okay, you just wait okay? Okay?” In addition, he seemed angry and actually stared at me. I was extremely shocked at his attitude and words. Do hosts in TGI Fridays yell at customers and scold customer if the customer seems young? I also thought he was inhospitable to me because I am an Asian. I felt the racial discrimination because of the attitude of the host and server’s bad service. The server never came to my table even though I extremely wanted a water refill. The server, however, behaved nice to other Americans and smiled all the time. She came to my table only once when she gave me the check and waited for the tips. I paid $48.73 for the food and $6.65 for the tip. I am usually generous with tips, but I seriously did not want to tip at all because of the horrible service I got. I thought TGI Fridays was one of the best restaurants in the world, but maybe I was wrong. I hope TGI Friday could come up with better service and staff training.

How about ZERO stars..smh ..went in this evening for a fun dinner ..with a friend and my teenage son.. I was also going to celebrate and get my belated birthday treat. ..yummy right?. Uh no... ..our service started off pretty good... we ordered my sons food first and our drinks. .. it took some time ..we finally got our drinks... then my son got his food.. placed our order... no problem. .. ...our appetizers never came.. our server checked in. .a couple of times.. then came back and said our order was lost. (?! ) he ran and got our appetizers. .he said he grabbed someone elses order.. Uh what?.. we ate..but upset..what about our entrees? .. he came back ... said he lost it and had to take our orders. .AGAIN ?! ..its been about 45mins now?! .. then tried to bring more appetizers?! ...we asked another server to get the manager. .she was more than helpful! .. really pretty girl.. and very customer service savvy.. she should have been the manager! ...he comes... the manager. ..and hes clearly overwhelmed. .. he isnt really listening to me.. tells me my issue is with the server. ..?! At that point it was a collective issue... with someone waiting that long.. especially if theyre being calm and understanding. .. ..the manager ..got upset with me.. after ..I gave him a few examples ..of how he could have handle our situation. .. with his obvious frustration. .we were way beyond trying to continue with dinner..I offered to pay and just go... Lol.. oh no .. he told us it would be no charge and we could leave when we were ready.. ?! ..we left quietly and thanked the pretty server that assisted us..she APOLOGIZED PROFUSELY. .as we left.. Smh Happy Birthday. .lol I should have listened to my son.. he didnt want to go .. smh

Horrible Service... Would not have given even ONE star. We called ahead and reserved for 35 people, kids and parents going to a GW basketball game. We arrived at 11:50. The restaurant was empty, and we waited a bit while they supposedly got tables together. 15 minutes later we are escorted to an "area" but all of the tables are 2s, 4s, etc... our desire was to have the team sit together. Not possible apparently. The hostess was not at all pleasant, friendly or even welcoming. But regardless, we did get seated. We immediately informed them that we were going to a 2:00 game walking distance away. It took 20 minutes for our waitress to come take our order. The were "out" of the raspberry lemonade, as well as the next 2 drinks from the menu the kids ordered. The waitress SUGGESTED a frozen lemonade in a couple of flavors which the kids ordered. she took our food order. 20 minutes later, we have no drinks at all.. I walked to the bar and got a soda and then again we waited. At 1:00 pm the waitress came over and asked if there was another drink we could order because they were short staffed and no one could make the lemonade. At that point I was very frustrated and said that we would at least like the sodas and waters we had requested. NOTHING..... at this point waitress raised her voice, I explained that we had been sitting for 1 hour with nothing at all... the kids had to go to a game.... we got up and left the restaurant. NO manager found us, NO one cared one bit. Many of the kids/parents did stay, and I guess ate, but were in fact late arrivals to the meeting place for the game for the kids. Absolutely ridiculous.

Bar Experience Only: I always sit at the bar so thats all i can speak to that experience. It is hit or miss with the service and by hit or miss i mean decent to great. I have seen a few people not satisfied with their bar experience but I have realistic expectstions. Bad: When theres a shift change the new bartender is more comcerned with stocking the bar than attending to the guests (there should be an overlap so the bar can get stocked and customer service isnt sacrificed.) When its packed the bartender tends to pick favorites, like regulars and friends. When this happens it takes a little more effort on the customer to get the attention of the bartender (bar backs should be allowed to pour water and soft drinks) At certain times of the day the music is too loud. I completely understand that during the school year they cater to young students and young urban locals but lowering the music would not negatively affect the atmosphere. Good: Bartenders are rather nice and know their drinks and like unusual drink requests. They love sports. - Pleasantly Inconsistent: Meals like cajun shrimp and chicken pasta are plesantly inconsistent. Its not always as creamy but it is always good. The salmon and burgers are always made to order as requested. Drinks arent always exactly the same but always good and the proces are some of if not the best in town. I dont frequent here as often as I used to but i enjoy 98% of my visits.
