This place is a gem. Firstly, the food is fantastic. If you are not familiar with Ethiopian cuisine, one of the owners will be happy to show you how to eat it. You use the injera bread to grab your main dish and you twist it in the sauces and with your sides. Mmmm. We had the Chefs Signature Tibs (cubes of steak tenderloin sauteed in red onions and tasty seasoning) with some delicious vegetable sides made from chickpeas and lentils. And of course lots of injera which they kindly brought more of for free. The place is family run and it feels like it. It feels as though you are being brought into someones home to enjoy a delicious meal. They are very passionate about their food and do everything they can to make sure that you have a great experience. They also serve excellent organic coffee to go and to stay. Traditional Ethiopian style or delicious lattes and cappuccinos. You cant go wrong either way. Finally, they have DC Brau on tap as well as a selection of wines and other beers. Everything is very reasonably priced for its size and quality (we made a whole lunch of our leftovers the next day!).

I cant say enough about LeTena. Having tried nearly every other Ethiopian restaurant in town, this is by far the best one. They have the freshest salad choices; the veggie combo is perfectly spiced and generosly portioned. Although not a big meat eater, I couldnt get enough of their tender Tibs (beef) with a special homemade sauce. The staff is attentive and friendly. With delicious food, free Wi-Fi and amazing coffee (must try their Counter Culture coffee), I find myself here fairly regularly. Highly recommended.

The food here is really good and at an affordable price. They made me taste a bit of one of their dishes to see if it was too spicy or not for me (there are some mild dishes too). They also took some time to explain to me how to eat the meal in a good way. So good food, reasonable price and lovely people!

Really nice interior and delicious food, with some different options than Ive seen at other Ethiopian restaurants around town. I love that you can build your own sampler platters. At $18 with tax, the veggie sampler was a good size for two hungry people.
