I lived blocks away from this place for almost a year and ate it at LEAST once a week, and I never once became sick from it. Yeah, its typical Chinese food, people, so dont walk in expecting a 5-star filet mignon and you wont be disappointed. I have had the buffet, once -- and lets be honest here -- first, IMO, all buffets are kinda gross. Second, do you *expect* a cheap, all-day Chinese food buffet in a big city to be delicious? The food didnt taste that fresh but most of it was still pretty good, and there is a lot to choose from (And the price for all-you-can-eat is a good deal if youre hungry, too). Staff is decently friendly. In DC, its actually hard to find a Chinese place that "sticks with what it knows" instead of trying to please everyone by adding subs and fries to their menu. Last, but not least, its also pretty CLEAN, so, although it is average Chinese food, these things make it an above-average place. Enjoy it for what it IS, and dont be an idiot and compare it to Las Vegas or LA buffets.

Seems as if theyre always, just like a lot of other Establishments in Washington DC, it seems as if theyre deliberately putting something in the Food to make sure that, what seems to me like theyre trying to make sure that Government Employee wont be able to hold that employment position No longer than they have to or so that those positions can be filled by who they so desire, wondering why so many people are walking around like there lower extremities or Health is somehow failing, Im Not Crazy, but Im Not as Stupid as some might assume and I wish that Government would do something about the stuff that I keep telling them, this All is starting to feel like a Set up on the Black Community, to further keep pushing it out of DC or is it just aimed at me?

The tofu tasted so bad, I almost threw up after eating it. I dont know how it is possible to mess up Chinese, but everything from the lo mein to the fried rice have zero or bad flavor. The tofu tipped the scale though. Just too gross, and I am a person that LOVES tofu, especially when prepared by Asian restaurants. The upside is that this place is super cheap, you can have a large dinner/lunch for 4 or 5 bucks. That is, if you can bear eating the food and then keeping it down. I truly dont understand how this place is in business. Yeah, I think I am going to vomit now.

Theyre just okay, well actually, less than that (hence the one star). The take-out option is quite expensive, the customer service is poor, and most of all, I dont believe the food is fresh. Everything tastes stale and "microwaved". Not that they microwave their food, but I mean in a sense of cooking food using a speedy method not allowing for proper techniques to be utilized. Ive only eaten half...and I may throw the rest in the trash. I hate to discard food, but I think I have no other choice.

Ate here 3 nights this week once a la carte the other 2 from the buffet(paid per weight). Not very fresh but a variety of choices. The veggie lo mein was great but the pork over cooked, broccoli over done & soups didnt look appetizing. You get what you pay for but at least the spring rolls were delicious. Cheaper than eating at my hotel for a few days.

Hello nah, dont yall dare to go there. I walk in and walk right out automatically. Trust me, unless you want to spend your night on the toilet for the rest of the night, go right ahead. No joke, this place is dirty and smelly. Keep walking to another place. Thank me later.

I like the food here. Above average quality Chinese carryout in a clean restaurant with friendly staff. I have not tried the buffet. I wouldnt make a special trip to eat here, but if you are in the area and want something quick and tasty for cheap this is good food.

Lunch buffet is ok for its price. Wouldnt order items from the menu (except lunch specials), esp. the noodle dishes. Both times I ordered noodle dishes were bad. They are the only restaurant Ive been to that sells you noodle in soup in one single container.

I like the place facing 14th Street and the food is okay plus the ice cream variety. The people running it seem genuine though one cashier is a snotty smartass and some patrons are trailer trash. $11 lunch wow.

Worst customer service ever, they refused to allow me to use my samsung pay and told me to leave that they are busy while yelling at me. This is 2017 for someone not to know what is samsung pay in downtown DC

The most important thing to see when you go to a Chinese buffet, fresh food! And they nailed it on my visit. Didnt see anything that looked like it had been sitting out for a while. Tasty, quick, recommend.

I simply love this place! Great location, good food, and awesome price. I cant imagine to have so much at such a price. Maybe its not the best Chinese gourmet, but I enjoy it after eating so many burgers.

Not bad. $10.45 for all you can eat Chinese food plus a drink. Not the best buffet Ive been to but not bad at all, I mean youre going to a Chinese buffet, dont expect a gourmet experience.

Anyone who walks into this type of place expecting a quality buffet (blind people excluded) is an idiot. City Buffet has great food, some of the best sesame chicken Ive ever had. Trust.

Used to work next door and would often need to get a quick cheap lunch. After getting sick twice, I wont ever go back. Spend the extra 3 bucks to get food literally anywhere else.

Pretty much a typical Chinese buffet, no memorable menu items. They did have a variety of options to fill your stomach at a cheap price. When you are craving it, itll hit the spot.

Small restaurant, food choices were small for a buffet, so large groups are a no go. Not many vegetable choices, I expected more for the price. A plus is the drinks are included.

The buffet is on the small side. But dont get hung up about how many different dishes are available, the choices were very good. Definitely a place that Id be stopping by again.
