And, that beats out the time the waitress from Unos almost physically assaulted my friend. So, let me recap as to why this place should be shut down. 1. Its a health hazard - there was water on the greasy stone tiles that caused my friend to slip and fall; good thing there wasnt any broken glass, bacteria or parasitic microbes, or dirty HIV infected needles on the floor; or even better, good thing it wasnt my pregnant friend who was right behind the friend who fell 2. Its still a health hazard - they serve Fruit Flies in their drinks; who knows if they like to flavor their food with them; Im Asian, but I dont eat bugs! 3. The inefficient and incompetent server - she admitted that she was new and apologized in advance for any mistakes that she may make (not a good sign for a large party); she forgot some dishes that were ordered, but somehow remembered to bring out items that were not ordered (thats why newer servers write orders down on a notebook, which she seemed to only use sometimes & YES, I saw her notebook because she wanted to prove to me that we ordered 4 Grey Goose & Tonics); she was much more attentive when it was time to pay the bill 4. Non-existent Customer Service - the owner or manager was very angry at my friend who had fallen down on the floor that had water all over it; she in fact said very sarcastically, "What do you want me to do?"; how about apologize for exposing every patron in there to the obvious health hazard (see reason 1) 5. Unscrupulous management - since the server had apologized in advance for screwing up its probably prudent to check the bill, which we did and found that the bill was wrong (what a surprise!); apparently its restaurant policy to overcharge & management is fully cognizant, and whole-heartedly accepts this type of service 6. Hostile & argumentative management - we questioned our check since there were items on it that were never ordered or served to us and the manager/owner became livid and screamed at us that she was going to call the police, which she promptly did; last time I checked, dine & dash consisted of people eating & leaving without paying; we stayed for over 30 minutes after she screamed at us and paid the bill which was $559 (that included their 18% gratuity, which is not legally mandatory in DC) 7. Corrupt restaurant staff - at the very end of this hellish experience, we had asked for a copy of the itemized bill; we got someone elses check, but the manager/owner swore up and down that it was our check, and that since the bill was closed out she couldnt print out the itemized version (it was wrong because the total bill was $221); luckily one of my friends kept the original itemized check In conclusion, I would like to warn those of you who want to go there with a large party and maybe have a drink or two, DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK! Im not saying that youll have the same experience, but Ive read 2 - 3 other reviews that also stated that they had similar experiences. Oh yeah, by the way the food was at the very best - Mediocre. Ive had better food at Chinese Buffets for a lot less.

After a year and many visits to this restaurant for lunch and dinner I had a disapointing esperience last night. 1. I am not a vegetarian. I ordered the Vegetable Tom Yum and got a bowl of tofu cooked in what tasted like shrimp broth. I wanted a serving of vegetables...not two servings of tofu and I wont even comment on them using the same soup base. I double checked the menu and it says vegetable, not vegetarian or tofu. 2. My friend had to reorder his appetizer. 3. The first round of rolls that we got were great: spicy tuna, spicy salmon and asparagus. The second round was awful and included spicy tuna and yellowtail. It tasted like we were eating at two different restaurants and the yellowtail was particularly bad. If asked if everything was ok, I would have told them what was wrong. After an experience like this, it is hard to say if I will ever go back. If it were just one problem with the meal I would take it as a hit and miss experience, but this was awful. What is going on Asia 9?

The food was OK. At the end of the evening my husband went to the bar to order a bourbon and coke. He asked for house bourbon and he watched as the bartender pulled out one bottle of empty house liquor, then another, and finally the bartender grabbed a bottle of Makers Mark and proceeded to make the drink this way. Since the bartender didnt ask my husband if the upgrade was OK he assumed he was going to luck out! Instead the bartender charged him for the Makers. Terrible sevice and extremely unprofessional.

Our short trip to DC for the cherry blossoms were filled with so many horrible places that we ate at. We just did not have any good luck any where we went. Finally found this place on google on our last day hoping it would be decent. Man did it surpass everything I thought. The food was amazing. Try the Pad Thai for sure. The service was friendly, fast and not over bearing. All the food was amazing and fresh. I would come here again for sure on another trip to DC.

The experience at Asia was actually good. I stroke up an amazing conversation about Wasabi with the male bartender. Nomi, a server there, is a flat out racist. So Im here to review my earlier review of Asia Nine staff. Dont eat there if youre not from Mongolia. They condescend indirectly, laugh with you and then right at you. For a person of color seeking some good sushi. Just make the trek to sushi capital.

Stumbled upon this place last year and ended up here again on the forth of July this year. I remembered it was good last year and I must say it was even better this time. To me it seems like a Thai Fusion place with decent sushi and some Korean dishes. The food is very fresh and tasty. The wait staff was very attentive. And I dont eat at a lot of restaurants in DC but the prices here seemed quite reasonable.

This is our second trip to D.C. And our second trip to Asia nine. We loved the food and the service was excellent! We ordered the Basil Noodles, Green curry and Ta khai, all with tofu. We were a party of 11. Our food came quickly and every ones food was hot. The flavors were all distinct (yum), the spice was deep and satisfying. We will definitely be back again!

Stopped in for lunch. I had the pad thai and my wife had the asia nine noodles (drunken noodles with lo mein instead of flat noodles) and the wonton soup. All were excellent, very fresh and flavorful. Definitely worth going back to again for dinner service to try the bar/sushi and more entrees. Decor was very modern asian and well done. Highly recommend!

Since moving to DC, weve been looking for "our sushi place." I think we found it. And indeed thats all I can really say. We had a seaweed salad--it was fine but pricy. The sushi, though, was great. The fish tasted fresh, the rolls ranged from standard to creative, and everything was done well. Always a thrill when it arrives on a little boat, too.
