Came here with a friend around 5pm. No issue getting a seat. Definitely early for dinner service but they were open. Only one worker working the front of the house. We ordered the same dish, I believe it was P-1 from the noodle soup. Basically various meats with pho. For appetizer, we ordered the rolled rice paper with shrimp. This way, we could meet the minimum $10 in order to use cc. One weird thing is that this is the first vietnamese restaurant that Ive been to that doesnt have com tam (broken rice). I thought it was one of those staple dishes, but I guess not. The appetizer was okay. Peanut sauce was decent. The shrimp werent as al dente as I would have preferred. The main course was okay. The broth was quite watered down and didnt have the layers of flavor that I would have expected. Fairly monotone. This place is on the second floor and has a lot of seating. Overall, the food is okay, nothing unique. Service was okay. I am going to try out the other Vietnamese restaurant within the next few days and Ill have a better comparison.

I normally dont like writing reviews but I had to in this case and it is very important for me to share this information. I went to Pho Hiep Hoa Restaurant on Saturday evening 11/29/14 my first and last visit. I ordered the spring rolls and the soup with chicken to go. I want some hot soup to help sooth my sore throat. I got my food home and as I was preparing my soup, there was a roach sitting right on top of the noodles as I put them in the broth. I was so upset and discussed! I called the restaurant and the person on the phone said I could return that soup and get another one. I said there is a roach in my soup I dont want another soup. I have the picture to prove this and I will or I must report this to the health department tomorrow.

we usually get our pho at pho 75 in rockville or we go to eden center if we want pho + spring rolls or other dishes. After seeing all the great reviews we decided to try Pho Hiep Hoa in Silver Spring. Big mistake. The pho broth tasted exactly like the pho boullion from Maxims supermarket in Rockville. The spring rolls tasted like the frozen spring rolls from Maxims. The vietnamese coffee was insipid. The place was almost empty at 11:30 Saturday morning. To their credit they took back and didnt charge us for my wife and sons pho. I kept mine and ate half of it because Im a wuss. Oh well, looks like we have to make the trek to eden center if we want good spring rolls.

Im a full blown Pho addict and I have come to really love Pho Hiep Hoa. It is one of the few places that Ive been where you can get extremely high quality Pho and the rest of the extensive Vietnamese menu is also very good. One of the nice things about it is that the atmosphere is a definite step up from most Pho places. The decor is pleasant and the staff is much friendlier than some places Ive been. And the surrounding area has a lot of other stuff going on, instead of being in some strip mall. All told this is a great place to get Pho or whatever else youre craving.

Imperial Fried Rice $13 (5/5 NOMs). All hail the emperor!. Look at how awesome this looks! My new favorite dish at this place! Its a mix of super nomnom grilled chicken with spicy fried rice inside tortilla and topped with sunny side up egg. Anything with egg on top is super nomnom in my book. I love asian dishes that come with fish sauce. Went well with mixing everything together so the rice is more wet and flavorful. Got to make sure there a little bit of everything in every bite. I will have to come back for sure and try this dish with pork!

The decor may not be anything to write home about, and the service is courteous but slow, but thats easily excused by the exceptional food. The prices range from low to moderate, and the quantities are occasionally absurdly large. If you arent sure how hungry you are, do NOT order a full order of pho, or you will be swimming in it. If you are new to pho, this is an excellent place to start. If you know your way around a vietnamese menu already, youll be delighted with the quality and variety available.

Solid pho option. Price is appropriate and portions are generous. Im a big fan of those peanut sauce lol, its the right consistency, saltiness, and sweetness. Ill ask for it even when I dont order any rolls. Actually half the time I come here I dont even get the pho, I go with the imperial fried rice! Its a huge amount of fried rice with your choice of meat and it comes in a fried eatable bowl. You gotta try it. Staff had always been pleasant and willing to split checks.

I had been craving Asian food for 2 days and had not found a good Asian restaurant in the area. To add to my anxiety, it was around 730pm -- a scary time for take-out food. I was astounded and happy that the food was very, very fresh, and very, very good. Good portions for the appetizers as well. Either I lucked out and was in the right place at the right time, or this will be a place I will begin to visit very often!

Wow.....use to be my favorite spot but I order a small bowl of Pho soup with Chicken. As I was about to dig in, I see a small bug in my soup, I get the waiter and he brings me another bowl. I couldnt eat it all so I took the rest to go, a little later on I warm the remaining soup up in the to go container and low and behold another bug. Unbelievable....needless to say I wont be back

Worst pho I have ever had. We went there tonight and we both took two sips of the broth and immediately asked for the check. Very funky flavor that left my mouth numb for about 20 minutes. Stay away from this place (especially the pho ga and the floating tendons and fat they call chicken) as there are far better options in Bethesda and Rockville.

For the third time I ordered a vegetarian pho and for the third time they serve a beef broth pho with vegetables and tofu. From the beginning of my order I specify that I dont like any animal product. Im not sur if the staff understand or dismiss but I plan to remove the restaurant from my list. At the end I had to pay for a wrong order.

This place has the best pho (soup) in the area plus a large menu of other delights. Ive eaten at just about every restaurant in downtown Silver Spring and this place has me coming back more than any other. Pho 75 in Langley Park also has great soup, but Pho Hiep Hoa is newer, friendlier, and CLEANER.

I love it at Pho Hiep Hoa. The Pho is excellent but the other dishes are also excellent. When was the last time you had an egg roll that was actually fried for your order? Try it some time, youll love it. Its also a great place to set up and work for a few hours, its a quiet and pleasant place.
