I went with a group of eight. I have gone previously and enjoyed myself. I did not this time. When we came in the waitress asked if I wanted a drink. I said that I would like to have the punch. She asked if I would like it spiked. I said sure...she asked me if I wanted one or two shots. I asked for one of Absolut vodka. My drink was so watered down,,,the ice melted and my $4 drink became $11! Not worth it. I ordered the caramel wings with orange soda greens and macaroni and cheese. I asked if I could have a certain part of the wing, the waitress said no. If I wanted a preference between white and dark meat for chicken I would be charged additional. What! The last time I came I had a corn muffin included with my meal. I guess if you have over two people you get two baskets of pieces to share between 8 people. When I received my food, the sides were cold. Which means that they sit around and then are served with the meals. They talk about a chef but I think everything is made in advance except for the meat. I asked for hot food, the waitress took it away put it in the microwave and then brought it back. So not acceptable. When it was dessert time we were informed that they had run out of several items. It was so tacky. From the overpriced drinks, to the microwaved food and finally no dessert. That is why people travel to other cities to dine. If this is Wilmingtons finest, then that is a pretty sad thing. Why would you short change your customers when you have an opportunity to be outstanding. I hope that another soul food restaurant opens to give this place some competition. I will not be back nor will I recommend it to others...extremely disappointed.

Stopped in for a holiday day meal with staff. Ordered 3 platters to go $45.00. We asked for a little extra caramel sauce on one of the wing platters. Well, it was more than enough IT made the chicken soggy..! We asked for extra apples with the caramel wings on all the platters!! Not one apple slice was on either PLATTER!!! One platter had BBQ potato salad, NO BBQ sauce that makes it BBQ potato salad!!!! This place has not been on the map long enough to be getting such bad reviews. SLOW DOWN AND GIVE QUALITY SERVICE BEFORE THE DOORS HAVE TO CLOSE BECAUSE OF LACK OF BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went Saturday after work w/my friend Candis, food was great and so was the live music, We were chewing an snapping our fingers at the same time!! Marcus our server was great and we enjoyed him so much ! I had the chicken , fish, greens , and cornbread and mac n cheese and it was DELICIOUS! The Domino Mascato was refreshing too! If they have a line outside the door when I go back ,I WILL WAIT. Also special applause to their music director Jason Coleman , whom I hadnt seen or heard play since school, what an awesome band you have! Check out Twisted Soul my experience was definitely 5 stars!

I work around the area but im from pa.. after work i googled some soulfood restaurants and came across this one... OMG best part of my day the food, drinks,dessert was amazing we tried the carmel chicken and the whiting with mac and greens it was soo good and the salted caramel cheesecake gets 2 thumbs up! while we waited for our food it was a live band playing and my kids danced while we waited, atmosphere was great, the staff was friendly and although i did take out they left a lasting impression on me i will definitely be back

Highly disappointed. As a walk in at opening time my chicken and waffles should not have taken 35 minutes. I had to leave and have a friend bring it to me because I was late for a meeting. The chicken was over cooked and the waffles were cold. I attempted to order via phone and was required to pay upfront. I started to place my order over the phone but when they asked to repeat the numbers because they misunderstood me i changed my mind.

I LOVE this place.... this is like my 4th time ordering from this spot, me and my husband LOVE it! the mac and cheese is addictive, also the collard greens are so fresh and yams are soooo delicious! everything that we had was delicious but I must let them know that they have to do a little better with captain crunch wings. Overall the food is delicious and I would personally like to thank the chefs for making my belly happy! thank you!!!

Music was onnnnn point!!!! Ebony and her band featuring the saxophonist Benny...they were superb! I had the jerk chicken and that was amazing. A friend of mine had the catfish and he said it was great! I finished off my meal with the Salted caramel cheesecake which was exactly how it sounds. Cant wait to go back and try that catfish myself. Overall, the experience was memorable...made me miss similar nights Ive had in New Orleans.

We didnt even get a chance to try the food. The service was poor. We were say down and after that no one even acknowledged our presence. Never even met our server. Not even asked if we wanted water. They stuck us in thr corner and forgot about us. Finally, after 15 mins of waiting, we got up a began to leave. No one even said s word. Its a small place so we get lost. 5 servers and the hostess walked by us at least twice.

This restaurant is not just a soul food restaurant. Its gourmet. Now thats out of the way. The food is delicious, the cornbread and strawberry butter is to die for!! The only complaint that I have is the service. When I was being serviced their were multiple people instead of just having one. I think that can create a lot miscommunication and mistakes down the line, but otherwise I support this business. :)

The food was not very good at all. The server was very rude and acted like she didnt want to help us when we requested extra condiments. The cook came out and his hands looked dirty. And once again our waitress was not very friendly at all. And i wouldnt suggest the orange soda greens they are terrible. Overall it was not a good experience.
