A few friends of mine own a beach house in Rehoboth and collectively we have been going here for years. However, I am disappointed to say I will NEVER be going back after the poor customer service I received regarding my dinning experience this month, and will NEVER recommend them to friends/family visiting again. We had four of us at our table, and split the bill at the end. However, my card was charged for both transactions. When this mistake was pointed out, a "refund" slip was provided by the manager - who then informed me that because it was a debit card and it was a Saturday night, the money would not be back into my account until Monday. Ok, fair enough. Mistakes can be made. Monday came and went; Tuesday went by...Wednesday I called the restaurant and asked to speak to a manager on duty; no one was available to help me. Received a call back from a manager named Tasha, whom I told I still did not have the money back in my account and needed it there ASAP. She was very gruff with me, but said it should be back in my account by Thursday. However, she had said, her computer was upstairs with all the transactions....she would call back in 10 minutes to confirm. No phone call. No voicemail. Nada. Friday...six days after the mistake occurred...I called for a FOURTH time, and Tasha answered the phone. She started arguing with me about if she had called me back on Wednesday or not...if she had, why hadnt she left me a vm telling me what she was doing to correct the problem?? Then she tells me they have a new credit card processing company and that she is not sure when the money will be put back in my account, after being told two different stories earlier. She went to get the owner to speak with me, but Tasha said she was "busy" with construction going on in the restaurant. I would have thought after having so many issues, her customers would be a top priority….really not happy at this point. Owner called back and left me a vm Friday night...new credit card system in place....not her fault, its the banks fault(the restaurant caused the mistake in the first place!!), and that it will be FIFTEEN DAYS until the money is back in my account. Although she apologized for the inconvenience, I am a teacher who is in school, and $75 back in my account means I can pay another bill. The least she could have done would have been to refund money from their cash drawer the night it happened, and perhaps as a gesture of good customer service offered the table a dessert at the very least??!!

My wife and I went to this supposedly highly recommended restaurant for our Anniversary. It turned out to be one of the worst experiences at a restaurant that I have ever had. Do not waste your time or money here for there are two many excellent restaurants in the Rehoboth Beach area 100 times better than this one. First off the service was slow. The supposedly spicy dishes were bland. Then the kicker of the evening came with our anniversary special dessert. This was layers of chocolate and peanut butter with ice cream on top rolled in peanuts. However, when it came after 40 minutes from ordering, the ice cream was about the size of a small melon ball. I asked the waitress if we could get a more normal scoop of ice cream. The Floor Manager returned and said she spoke to the Chef and was told that everything was portion controlled and they could not add any more ice cream. Then she started to talk about how she became the Floor Manager because of her people skills, then all of a sudden walked away. I have been in sales all my life and understand Customer Service. This restaurant has no concept of what that is. They seem to want to move people in and out of the restaurant and make money on their overpriced dishes without concern for the quality of their food or customer service. We live in the area in a large community of almost 500 homes. We will be telling people not to go there. Our bill for two was $100. We will never go there again!

Went there for our anniversary on a Saturday night. We got a reservation and we got seated pretty quickly. The patio is awesome. Its a verry summery atmosphere. Our server was an older guy who barely even tried. Waited like 15 minutes for him to show up and say hello. Then he went to the table next to us even if they got seates after us. Brought their drinks, took their order before ours. We got seated before. When I asked about signature dishes his answer was extremely vague, he mumbled something about a seafood pasta and a barbeque creme. He didnt even try to sell it to us. We asked for some straws and paper napkins and he almost poked my husband in the face with them. I mean cmon people have some manners. The tables outside are too close to eacb other. The couple next to us would keep staring at us. We asked a manager to move to another table. It turned out to be okay. Not okay enough for a special night like your anniversary. The good was alright. Way overpriced for what youre getting. I got a Japan Bagel Maki, their version of a Philly Roll. It was okay. I dont think we would ve coming back though.

The Cultured Pearl lacks culture. Their sense of their own reputation has overtaken their sense of hospitality. We were treated like an inconvenience when we arrived a few minutes early for a reservation, then dumped at an uncomfortable table where we were ignored for fifteen minutes. Finally a waiter called to us on the run that another waiter would be with us in a moment. When we pointed out to him that we’d already been waiting for quite a few moments, he copped a petulant attitude worthy of a snarky sixteen year-old and said, “Okaay, what can I do for you?”. He was surprised when we decided to leave. Even though it was Saturday night on Columbus Day weekend, the staff at 1776 Steakhouse went out of their way to accommodate us. We had a delicious dinner in a gracious atmosphere. Hey Cultured Pearl: culinary innovation isn’t enough. You’re not the last stop for Pan Asian cuisine.

Very disappointed. My green curry chicken was fine but the Sushi that was prepared for everyone else was dry and not prepared properly. Most of our family has traveled to the Orient and experienced fine Sushi and dishes. We should have know better and just stuck with entrees. I really felt for the waitress as she was really trying but the cook staff would not cooperate or get anything to our table in a timely manner. The only solution was one of the owners just stating "we will take the meals you are not happy with off of your bill." No sincere apology, offer to correct the meal and provide something else, just basically okay you have it off your bill and now you can leave was the subliminal feeling I had. We did tip our waitress fairly and the billing for 4 adults and two kids was well over $250.00 with tip. Never again and Rehobeth Beach deserves better.
