After my experience at TAPAS, I have very few good things to say about the restaraunt, which is rare for a West Hartford Center location. Lets start with the biggest thing - the food. I found the food to be VERY hit or miss. I was in a party of 4 and we ordered a 5 Tapas "meal" and two of them we left nearly complete on the plate between the four of us, because they were either so entirely bland or the flavor was terrible. So to pay the price we did (total bill was $30 split between two of us, so $60 total all said) for essentially 3 appitizers and drinks, terrible. And I dont want to come off all negative, the appitizers that were good were great, but there wasnt enough of them! Which brings me to the next point - price. Even if everything that I was served was delicious, being served such small portions of food that really is not made of anything expensive is rediculous. I could have gone to any other W. Hartford restaurant and had two full meals for me & my wife for the same price and would have been completely satisfied. Whats worse about it is we were left so hungry afterwards, we stopped at the nearby Cosis for food afterwards and were filled more and satisfied for half the price.

Ok, where do I start? My wife and I were in the mood for greek food. Normally we make it home since Im 100% Greek. But we wanted to take the night off. We started with Greek salad, I would have been ok except it had curry in it, what!? No, please people no curry, never in a Greek salad. If my mother was there she would have started crying. Then we moved on to the souvlaki. Now every real Greek learns how to make this at the age of 5, there is a test in Greek school. Since when is there broccoli, carrots, celery and peppers in a Souvlaki!?! It tasted like asian stir fry in a pita. Now I was hungry so I went for the platter. Save your $4.99--the rice had no taste. Ive had better from the uncle bens microwave bag. But if youre a big spender, for $2.50 more you can get fries. The fries might be great, I didnt have them. But I wasnt going to pay $2.50 on top of the $4.99. For everyone who wants greek food please dont go there, its not greek food. I cant speak for any of their other food. I just know Im not going back there. Almost forgot! They did have one thing we loved! SANGRIA

We have been long time customers, and have always been satisfied. Not so yesterday. We werent made aware before ordering there was no bernaise sauce, and the gyro had very little meat. We asked for dessert to take home. Upon going to eat it, it smelled bad and was covered in mold(it was apple bread pudding). I tried to quietly reach out to management via email and phone call, and no response. Therefore, I must somehow make it known of my dissatifaction. I have disputed the meal charge with my credit card company and now wont have to pay. Honestly, if management would have responded, I wouldnt have gone so publicly to speak of my experience and I was just looking for refund on my dessert. Being a business owner myself, I know how reviews hurt and reach out to all my customers if they are disatisfied.

This restaruant should reconsider there pricing. charge me a dollar or two more for things but please dont nickel and dime me to death. ordered spinach pie one piece 9.00 dollars you must be joking. Ordered hummus and pita they give you 4 small triangles of pita for all the hummus so of course you ask for more extra charge why dont they give you enough to start with what restaurant charges you for additional bread. the final deal breaker was we celebrated a birthday there our bill came to over 200 dollars and they had the nerve to charge us a dollar for each plate to serve the birthday cake. They lost out though we were going to have birthday party there again for 15 we cancelled. I would say they lost a lot more money

I am puzzled as to how the Hartford Advocate and other reviewers can say this is some of the best greek food around. I have eaten better gyros at a mall food court where they actually cook their own meat and cut it into strips, unlike Tapas that serves reheated frozen strips. The salad dressing that is "almost famous" tasted like oil with a heavy dose of cumin in it and the rice was soooo bland and very al dente. Being from a Mediterranean background, I was excited to go and try this place. I was very disappointed with my first, and last, trip.

I am not quite sure what was going on when some of the other reviewers went to Tapas but we live near by and dine there frequently. Cajun chicken pocket platter comes with small (not so small) greek salad and is definately my favorite item on the menu. The staff are super friendly although they do get burried by customers from time to time. The place is too small to complain about bad service. If you need to grab someones attention just turn your head and open your mouth.

I had a very bad "take-out" lunch experience at Tapas today. I ordered a grilled chicken Ceasar salad - dressing on the side. It cost upwards of 12.50 and what I recieved was a salad that was comprised of yellowed romain with only 2 oz of very dry over cooked chicken all of it completely drenched in a thick dressing. Croutons were stale. Complete stike out. Wont go back - EVER. Question cleanliness and freshness of food.

$18 for a Steak kabob platter. Yes, you guessed it #1 kabob, mushy rice, some awful chutney, wilted lettuce salad topped with wilted tomatoes, 2 olives and feta cheese. I threw most of the platter out along with the salad. Pita bread that wasnt toasted or fresh. My son didnt fair much better with his Souvlaki with off tasting waffle fries?? $30+ Whattttt! Never going back

The signature dressing is made with Soybean oil. Im not sure why the greeks would use Soybean oil in their dressing and not Olive oil. I guess when you are trying to save a couple of bucks, you think of creative ways. I will not be going back to Tapas. Soybean oil tastes awful. The owners dont care about how it tastes. And that is the simple truth.

Nice beer and wine selection. Shrimp Florentine was super fresh & delicious. Chocolate lava cake was tasty, just not cooked enough for lava to be runny as I like it. Very attentive wait staff and food came out quickly on a Saturday night. Overall quite a nice experience.

I do not think it is a Greek restaurant. All the specials on the black board on the day I went were Italian. I ordered the Falafal, it was very ordinary, nothing special/ different. Just another place to grab a quick lunch.

Horrible experience!!! We bought $90 worth food to get uncooked rice and blood dripping uncooked lamb . Unseason and unsalted bland chicken and shrimp. No where near Mediterranean food.
