Amazing food, service and atmosphere! We didnt have a reservation so we went early and while there were people already at the bar seats, we said we would wait. When others came in to ask about the bar seats, they made sure to tell them that we had been waiting and would be given priority. They kept coming to refill our cocktails while we waited and offered us delicious frites with shallot dust. The cocktails had very heavy pours but were great. Everything we ordered for food came out delicious. Great place to go in the area and make sure you call in advance for a reservation!

Best food in Ludlow and a real foodies delight. The menu features a lot of local produce in a great atmosphere with excellent service. The owners came around to make sure everyone was happy with their meals. We sampled the Monday night specials (3 courses for $21) which were all excellent. The chocolate souffle and carrot-cardomom ice cream were amazing. The wine list is also very good with several interesting and organic wines. My only criticism is that there were not a lot of choices for vegetarians, but I also didnt ask. They may be willing to make alterations to the menu.

If you love creative, exquisitely prepared food and top notch service, get to Ludlow and eat at The Downtown Grocery. I had the Deckel steak, as tender as fillet with more flavor, cooked a perfect medium rare. Our party also enjoyed shrimp with gritz and chicken in smoked maple syrup sauce, also delicious. Kudos to our server, Britt. Total rockstar! And rest of team. Well be back. From pillow light gnocchi to ultimate breakfast and chocolate soufflé for dessert, a wonderful dining experience.

Hostess was amazing! We were a little hesitant to stay as the menu did not seem suitable for our 8 and 11 year old children. The chef was able to accommodate for our needs and vary up the menu for their taste buds! The drinks and food were amazing! Fun atmosphere! It was a delicious meal for us all!

Possibly my favorite dining experience ever. Fresh, local ingredients imaginatively conceived and impeccably prepared. Friendly, bustling atmosphere. Went back three times in a week just to try as many menu items as possible. Buy the kitchen a round of drinks for $6.

We had a reservation for 8:30. We were not seated until 8:50. The point of a reservation is that the table be reserved. This was unacceptable. However, the food was phenomenal, and the service once we were seated was excellent.

Amazing food! It was refreshing to have one of the owners seating customers and explaining the specials and menu. For dessert, you have to get the breakfast for dessert!

This is a lovely little restaurant tucked into a side street in Ludlow. It is a very small, cozy, place which makes us think of Vermont. The food is great.
