Why do people come here? I tried this place last night, and it was okay at best. The food is insanely expensive - a $26 burger! The cheese plate is pricey, which would be okay if it was something special, but it isnt. The cheese plate was served with soft and spongy white bread - supposed to be a sliced baguette, but lacked any taste, crumb, or crustiness. Sigh. Also, for the money, youd think they might grill the bread, throw in some fruit, some olives, some nuts, or something to make the cheese plate more interesting. But they dont - two piles of jelly and some tasteless bread, and thats it. Like I said, for the prices they charge, the food should be exceptional. Its just not. The wine was pretty good (hence the three stars). You are given an iPad with a wine list, which is a fun little toy - you can see a little more about each wine by moving through the wine menu. I think that maybe if wed stuck to drinking, the experience would have been better. The service was mediocre at best - we were there on a Tuesday night and waited a long time for our food. Someone elses food arrived at our table. The waiter didnt really seem too interested in helping us or serving us; when I asked him what the wines in my wine flight were, he pretty much brought me the menu to read and fled. The food seemed competently prepared, but l just expected more. I wont be back.

I have eaten there three times, once for lunch and twice for dinner. Lunch and one dinner were fa nominal; I found myself telling everyone it was the best place in town. Though, my last dinner experience fell far short of my expectations. The service was far less than par; among other things, I had to order everyone’s drink from the bar after waiting 15 minutes for the waiter, two expensive bottles of red wine we ordered were not served at the right temperature (they were hot..really!), and while the owners roamed around the restaurant trying to ensure adequate service, they seemed to come off more like Big Brother rather than guiding service. It made us all feel uncomfortable. The food was excellent, as usual. Everyone loved their meal, so I am hoping my last trip was simply an off night. I still love the place, a little noisy at times, but will definitely go back.

Im in town for business & decided to eat at the hotel restaurant (first mistake). Bar tender was super nice, even gave me an extra pour while I waited on my food. Took food up to my room & cut into my burger....it looked like it never touched the grill! I ordered it medium, yet it was more on the rare side! I called & spoke to the manager & not once did she apologize or act like she cared. All she said was "you can bring it back & well make you a new one". Really??? Its freaking 9:30! You really think I want to come back down from my room, after Ive showered & changed, so you can fix your mistake? I decided to take it down & show her how raw it was....she stared at me in silence.....said absolutely NOTHING! So RUDE! I didnt want to give the stigma Ive heard so many times of "northerners", but this woman certainly has proven this stigma to be correct.

Went here for Restaurant Week. Ordered the tomato soup (flavorful, slightly salty), a gnocci dish (the gnocci was exceptionally light and airy) and finished with an angel food cake that was nicely toasted on the outside but lacked a lot of flavor. I also had a red wine flight of three wines that were all very good, especially one that was particularly full bodied and fruity. I left feeling full and satisfied, but perhaps some of the menu items are a little expensive at their usual price.

Went for lunch with a group of 8. There was a dull roar from other patrons who made it impossible to hear someone at the other end of my table who was speaking directly to me. Reaction by myself and others to the menu: "There is nothing here I want to eat." Service left something to be desired. One member of our table asked for butter - it took two requests to get butter. Then it took 3 requests for a salt shaker/grinder. Based upon this introductory visit Im in no hurry to return.

UPDATE: this place is permanently closed and is something else now. _______________________ We like it for date night. Tasty wines, appetizers, and entrees. Good service, and pretty fun vibe (considering its in a Best Western hotel lobby). Both rooms (bar and back room) are quite pleasant and have been full every time weve been. Easy parking in the lot next door despite downtown location. Note: the window seats in the bar room are quite chilly/drafty during winter!

The Bad: I was at Napa recently and was unpleasantly surprised at poor waiter svce and subpar food. We were a party of 4 and none of us were particularly pleased with our dishes. Napa is all about wine but gives very short descriptions of the wines on their lists. I found my initial selection satisfactory but the wine flight we chose to be poorly composed. If you must go ask lots of questions about your selections since your expectations may as high as mine were.

Had dinner at Napa for the first time last night. I was hesitant with the mixed reviews but my husband and I just decided to try it for ourselves and Im glad we did. Excellent service from our server, Will! He gave us great recommendations and I loved my duck confit entree :) Great wine choices and love the small plates. Oh and the banana pudding with chocolate gelato was to die for. Definitely will plan on going back there.

Theres a reason why this place has been in business for years and that is because the food and staff are exceptional. It is hardly ever that I eat something I dont like there. My husband and I went recently and I got a flatbread that was very crisp and not very good and the waitress took care of it and offered free desert. Wine is excellent. Their brunch is really good too. If you love good steak def try it!

my boyfriend and i frequent napa & co 3-4 times a year and were never disappointed. the food is expensive but definitely worth it. there arent many restaurants in stamford that offer the quality cuisine napa & co does. they always have a great cheese selection. their veal & foie gras meatballs are amazing. i am also a huge fan of their fried gnocchi.

the best in stamford & maybe all of fairfield county. excellent food, "straight from the farm to the plate." wine friendly. deli/take-out. lunch, dinner and breakfast are all good. only problem - very popular (deservedly so) and hard to get a reservation. can sit at the bar and have some great wines by the glass. enjoy. splurge. go.

My bestie and I are always looking for great places to eat in Stamford after work. This is one of our favorites. The menu changes depending upon the availability and freshness of the ingredients. Worth a try.

the food is creative and very good. the wine list and wines by the glass are extensive. service is solid. dont plan on a romantic dinner here though. the space is small and open to the bar and very noisy.
