We had been living in Westport for three years and driving past this place a hundred times always thinking we should give it a try. Just when we were in the middle of moving out to the New Haven area decided to have dinner at Wafu. My family and I are still kicking ourselves for not going there before! We have traveled extensively and being sushi lovers, tried a good number of places. Wafu has become our favorite one by far. Why?: - The food on offer is the most creative one we have encountered with a marvelous combination of flavors that are truly top chef quality. We personally love the fried oysters, the truffle white tuna and all their rolls. - You could not eat fish or any ingredient that is fresher unless you fish it or produce it yourself - The food is consistently outstanding every time (not ups and downs like in some other restaurants) - The ambiance is modern, original and makes you feel so comfortable that lifts your spirits - The people here are genuinely kind and very professional, making you feel very welcome The only drawback that I can warn you about is that this wonderful restaurant can be addictive! You dont believe me? Go just once and then will talk! We are finding any excuse to go to Westport just to eat here.

Wafu is our absolute favorite place to eat. Salmon and his wife Elaine are so kind and welcoming. They make you feel like family. The food is outstanding!! The fish is always fresh! Salmon is a creative, passionate chef that is always thinking outside of the box and crafting up new dishes. He often will treat us to whatever he is working on. We primarily eat sushi and habachi from the sushi bar. The King Salmon and Tuna are always fantastic! The habachi noodles are delicious. The bar tender makes a nice cocktail. We eat there weekly and have nothing but good things to say about Wafu. Definitely check it out!!

All I can say is, "WOW!" This place is amazing! The decor is fresh and hip, the food is outstanding. The owner and his wife are both very friendly. He, the owner, is an amazing sushi chef. They use all of the freshest ingredients available! The sake flows and so do the good times...and the dollar bills. Wafu is not your generic sushi place. Its the real deal. Go there and see for yourself!

Had an awesome date night thanks to Wafu! Its an experience as soon as you walk in! The lighting, ambiance, and food is top notch! Neither of us had ordered our entrees from an Ipad before, which doesnt sound like that big of a deal, but definitely adds to the experience! I highly recommend!

Personalized service, outstandingly delicious food, exotic fun atmosphere--nothing not to love about this place. Been there 4 times. You will not find a better restaurant of its kind anywhere around this area. A solid 5 Star.

If you need a head set to serve food to 4 tables, something is incredibly wrong. Drink was also terrible. And when i sent it back they did not fix it. Overpriced. Overall bad experience. Wont be back.

Some really creative dishes, but they need to cook the proteins more thoroughly. Decor is modern and lovely. Music is jarring and out of place - for us it spoiled the whole experience.
