Once again, we had a fabulous meal! Since it was New Years Eve, they had a 4 course prix-fix menu with some delicious and different offerings. I had the Hamachi Ceviche which was so fresh and tasty- lots of clean favors of lime, cilantro and avocado to compliment, but not overwhelm the fish. My husband had the pork belly and we both practically licked our plates. This course was followed by a salad course; I had the Mediterranean Salad which had hummus, olives, feta - again delicious; my husband had the Mixed salad full of fresh veggies. For the main course I had the Duck breast which was cooked to perfection with fingerling potatoes and carrots. My husband had the Beef Tenderloin which came out a perfect medium with mashed potatoes - he said it was one of the best meals he has ever had! The dessert menu came out and we forced ourselves to choose - I had the pumpkin tart which was lightly brûléed and my husband had the Pretzel flourless chocolate cake - both lovely endings to our meal. Our server, Dan, was very attentive and the staff worked so well together to bring us our drinks and food. One of our favorite restaurants and we plan to be back many times on 2016

I love love this place! Amazing atmosphere, service was relatively quick and insightful. I ordered the traditional burger (with cheese), which was your typical burger but it was also juicy and had a nice depth of flavor, kind of smoky. It also came with french fries which were moist on the inside and crisp on the outside. My dad got the organic salmon which was cooked to perfection and came which a nice bed of sticky rice. My sisters steak, although on the kids menu, was juicy and flavorful. Dessert was also great, the ice cream was homemade! Only downfall was that I found a small piece of plastic in the ice cream, which I m sure will never happen again. I recommend going here for sure.

My girlfriend and I LOVED our experience at The Foundry. The building itself is super inviting and interesting to be in. The lighting and atmosphere is superb! We loved the music selection that played during our visit, really nice classic dance and funk songs. The service was really great, our waitress was attentive and Ralph was great as always, and when it comes to the food, we have always been pleasantly surprised with the menu and the entrees that we have ordered so far! We will keep coming back for more, and we cant wait to eat outside by the river! Thanks for opening up such an excellent little restaurant for us to enjoy our evenings close to home!! :)

Ive eaten at the Foundry quite a few times, and Ive never been disappointed. The staff is friendly, helpful, and unobtrusive from the time I walk through the door on the way in to the time I walk back out. Service is efficient, with a pleasant and comfortable waiting area on the few occasions when Ive had to wait. Very nice, casual ambiance throughout. Nicely stocked bar with good (usually solo) entertainment. And of course, the food. Ive had most of the offerings on the menu, both appetizers and entrees, and have never been less than impressed. Highly recommended. Update 4/29/2015: Still the best...

Ive driven 45 minutes to visit this restaurant on several occasions with friends and family and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious and the wait staff is very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Drinks are also very good and there is always a nice selection of draught beers on tap. Having been here for lunch, Sunday brunch, and dinners, each visit has been highly enjoyable. I would highly recommend going on a Wednesday or Saturday evening when Drew Bordeaux is playing in the bar. Hes an amazing singer/musician that makes for a great night out all around.

Pricey but worth it. Great appetizers and food, but my sister and I both had fish tacos at lunch yesterday (Tuesday, June 9, 2015) and swore the shells were extremely stale. Great setting, great service, creative menu offerings. UPDATED Monday, February 6, 2017: Slipping a little. Had lunch there on Friday and it took over an hour for a pair of lunch orders (stuffed potato and a chopped salad) to be served. Called late yesterday afternoon to get a salad to go and was told that they closed the kitchen at 3 "due to the Super Bowl." What ... what??!

If you love great atmosphere, a creative menu, and friendly service you will not want to miss the Foundry for lunch or dinner. My husband and I love sitting outside on the deck watching the swift river below us. But equally as fun is the cozy, comfortable inside dining. Dont miss Chef Chris Brunos specials as they are so unique and reflect his versatile culinary skills. BTW the best French Dip sandwich I have ever had and a nice selection of wine, beer and specialty drinks. A do not miss venue located in a charming New England town!

First time dining and the Organic Roasted Chicken item was amazingly delicious. I wore shorts and we sat inside, right over the cooling vents. Brrr. Our waiter was willing to move us. Very friendly and competent staff. We had an opportunity to sit on the deck but we switched to inside. Its billed as a tavern so I felt the music was a bit too loud for me but like I said, they have an outside deck and a charming wine bar and seating upstairs. Clean, cozy and intimate. Ill be returning with more friends.

The Foundry is my first choice for eating out in Newtown! The food is always excellent, and theres an intriguing variety to choose from. The manager, Ralph, is personally welcoming and proactive in making sure patrons enjoy their meals. The wait staff is friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Tuesday nights with Drew at the guitar are always tons of fun. Its a comfortable place to eat, whether alone, with a friend, or with a large party. I recommend it to all my friends!

My husband just went to eat there for the 1st time today. One of his friends took him there and he brought me the Chilean sea bass meal....OMG it was one of the best meals I have ever had. The Seabass was amazing, so tender and flavorful! The aioli sauce out of this world...Even the rice was so delicious. I can not wait to go there and eat. Those chefs are AMAZING at what they do!!!!!!! By the way it looks very cozy with rustic decor inside from what I saw on their website gallery.

The food was absolutely amazing, from the appetizers to the dessert, we ate it all with no complaints. It was that delicious! My sister and I split the salmon, and they had no problem with gives us two dishes each filled equally with the entree that we ordered. The staff goes out of their way for guests from answering our questions about dishes to making sure were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. If you live near or around the area, it is certainly a place to stop by and enjoy.

This is a review of the Menu and website.... Checked the online menu for this place and found they had RIbs which the entire family was up for. Went there only to find out they changed the Rib option from short ribs to Veal. Gross! Sorry not into eating a baby calf. Other options on the menu where very strange. Couldnt settle on anything else so we left. Got a Sorry from the waitress but it doesnt get back the 30min to get there and the later dinner. Place is pricy too.
