The owner of the pub spends his time getting drunk off of his own beer supply. Four friends and myself were quietly sitting at a bar, across from another group being extremely loud and rude. We had been good patrons, purchased at least two drinks (and currently drinking them) each, and ordered food. Two more friends came in to sit with us, both nicely dressed good people. When they sat down, the owner came over and said "You arent welcome here, get out". Upon asking why, he didnt give a reason other than "This is my bar, leave." We all took our things and left because of how rude he was. He went on a drunken power trip and stood behind us as we paid our bills and left. Hes lucky we even offered to pay after kicking the most well mannered people in his pub out. He then stood in the parking lot until we all left. There are many other bars in the area, please do not give this man your service. McLaddens right down the street has better beer, and the staff is extremely nice. The owner has apparently been commenting on the other members of my group that were there saying they were overly intoxicated. They had zero drinks before showing up, had not visited another bar yet that night, did not cause a scene, did not show any signs of being intoxicated at all. He did not breathalyze them or tell them at the time that the time that he believed them to be intoxicated. Edit: The owner has responded to all of my friends post with the same copy/paste description. He has removed anywhere that he wrongfully accused all of my friends for being overly intoxicated (again they came straight from a family dinner). Since this date there have been more incidents of the owner showing his lust for power in treating his guests improperly. He did not say that the bar was closed until after he had already asked us to leave. They were not closed, and were still serving at this time. His need to say that we "display[ed] [our] lack of respect for anything except [our] own desires" shows he does not understand his lack of respect for his own customers. He will continue to treat his guests this way, and as suggested in other 1 star reviews, "I would check out the McLaddens or Maple Tree, just stay away from the Red Stone."

I went there for the first time. I walk in to see some friends, and the manager, that was under high influence of alcohol, kicked me out telling me "you are not aloud here, you need to leave, you are not welcome here" in a very rude impulsive way, repeating it several times. Is it because I am a foreigner? Is it because I am wearing a Batman hat? There are ways to be a polite person. His way was not. I have never being treated like that in my whole life. Would not recommend this place, you might not be welcome there by their own owner. Not worth the risk. Edit: I didnt know it is possible to be highly intoxicated without drinking any alcohol.

The owner of this bar is absolutely intolerable and has made every experience inside a disaster. From giving me and my friends a 5 minute lecture about behaving before we even walked inside to falsely accusing my friend of skipping out on an 8 beer tab, Marks behavior has reassured me and everyone I know in town to never step foot in the Red Stone Pub again. Its a shame considering the lack of bars in town, but entering the Red Stone Pub and giving any business to Mark and that establishment would be a big mistake. I would check out the McLaddens or Maple Tree, just stay away from the Red Stone.

The owner of this bar tonight decided to get belligerently drunk and go on a power trip tonight. We were sitting at a table and our friends (who were completely sober and paying customers) came to sit with us. The owner decided to make a scene and kick them out with no explanation except for that the bar apparently closed and that we were "no longer welcome" there. That, I understand, but could have easily been communicated to us in a polite way like adults. This guy has no idea how to treat customers. Needless to say we will never be back.

So I walked in the place to meet my friends and without even ordering a drink was told by one of the owners that "I was not welcome here" and told to leave. All the wait staff looked at me with horror as this drunk manager continued to talk. I have always liked this places beer selection but after that treatment I cannot recommend this place. Edit: Also its hard to be "overly intoxicated" when you havent had a anything to drink and also the DD.

Red Stone Pub gives a different vibe than other places... Small, quaint joint with an atmosphere like "Cheers"...where everyone knows your name! There was a table of folks playing cards (mustve been regulars), a few guys who knew a ton about beer, and an owner who made one heck of a corn beef sandwich! Im sold!

Remember the show "Cheers"? Think of Cheers in 2016 with a "Simsbury Social Conscience" - They are always doing fundraisers and helping the community. They are super supportive of Bicycle Friendly Simsbury & Simsbury Free Bike. Its just a fun Pub with a great beer selection, and a FUN Staff. Cheers!

Very Cool Ambiance, Great Staff and Good Selection of Craft Drafts. This place was a horse stable back in the day. Neat stone and wood features. No foodie on this trip, just Elysian Space Dust IPA and shelled peanuts.

Great pub with live music on Wednesday night. Good beer selection, super friendly staff, historic building. In warm weather you can sit outside, and you can bring your dog! If you do, they will bring water for your dog.

Service was slow, out of some food items. The menu is very small and should not be running out of food.
