I dont ususally write reviews but here it goes... Ive been a coming to this restaurant for three years, even though their costumer service never improves it can most definitely GET WORST. Went there with my family last night ( Thrusday 7.3.15) We were waiting at the table for 20 min before we ask the bar if we could just get drink there and bring them to the table, they told us to wait because someone would be coming to the table. So it is Karaoke night my family and I are trying to have a good night regarless of the poor attention to our table. They make last call for drinks we put in one last round, server forgets one our drinks( whatever no big deal, it was seating at the bar right across from us so he can even say it was the bartenders fault) but when we asked for the check I mention to him that he forgot one of the drinks, he gets mad as if it was our fault and he says in a very rude manner IM GOING TO PAY FOR IT YOU CAN HAVE IT, when we said nothing about taking out of our check. He comes back with the check and a separate receipt AND HOLDS IT UP IN MY FACE and says JUST SO YOU CAN SEE THAT IS NOT ON YOUR CHECK ( may I say I never complained about the check or having it comp off). So to top that off a guys comes to our table and says you guys have two minutes to finifh your drinks, my mom who DOES NOT speak english asked him to repeat him self in spanish WITH A TONE AND BAD ACTITUD, simply rude. We are getting up to leave and the bartender comes back and says we are done it is time to go, and I tell him cant you see we are on our way out? HE SNATCHED A BEER BOTTLE OUT OF MY UNCLES HAND. IN WHAT UNIVERSE IS THAT OKAY TO DO TO ANYONE ??!! Ofcourse he starts arguing with my uncle, and my uncle asks him WHERE ARE HIS MANNERS? Bartender replays ( and may I quote) : " I LEFT THEM IN BED WITH YOUR WIFE." And then runs to hide behind the bar because he knew things were going to get out of control. I still tip them 25% on our check total because I am a server as well, and I have never experience such a nasty behavior from staff that are supposed to all about making costumer enjoy their experience. I AM NEVER COMING BACK TO THIS RESTAURANT, good food or drinks does not make up for LACK OF COSTUMER SERVICE.

Poor customer service, I had a reservation on Friday April 3rd at 7:15 for 20 ppl, we got there at 7:20 and they gave away our table to another party that didnt have a reservation. I call the week after and the manager FRANCISCO told me that they dont hold on to tables if ppl dont get there in time and that they dont really accept reservations but he is the one who took it and approved it then he tells me that was my fault that we didnt get help because I got mad, who wouldnt get mad when you dont treat the customer in right manners on top of that he tells me that I was acting like a jackass for getting mad in front of his employees "in Spanish of course because him and I are Hispanic" and that make me feel sorry for our ppl because certainly some of us dont have the skills to be in that kind of position and responsibilities at your work place! I dont think Ill ever even try to eat at any of their location neither recommend to anybody because if you have an issue because they missed up you will get the blame instead of being treated with professionalism and work to make you feel welcome. I did get mad and left because the solution he was giving me was sitting all my group in separate tables and wait for about 1 hour to 1:30 hours.

Plaza Azteca in Newington is a fantastic place to go for any occasion. Date night, meeting a client or friends, grabbing a bite over lunchbreak or simply a great dinner will suffice your craving for great food. This place serves Tex Mex food and great service, quality and large portions so you will not leave hungry. They offer desserts from the Cheesecake Factory. The interior decoration is great and on certain nights have a mariachi band play throughout the restaurant (encourage to tip). Food portions are large, no matter what you order. And the quality and flavor of the food is great - not prepared from heating a can of food. There are three areas to dine; bar (full 360 bar to sit) area which includes seating on the edges of the bar area, then there is the main dining area with plenty of booths and table seating; lastly there is the patio with parasols to cast a shade from the sun on a nice spring or summer evening (closed during winter). Great place for some Tex Mex food.

Think of the most evil/vile people in history. Even those people deserve better than this Plaza Azteca. If Dante had been here, it would be the lowest level of his hell, so bad even Satan himself would fear it. Food takes forever to get to you. The food was wrong. The food had hair in it. The salsa tasted rancid. Wait staff and managers hung out at the bar rather than work. They bad mouth customers (not me) in Spanish, not realizing some customers know the language. They fail to provide correct change, preferring to round up your bill at their discretion. Glassware and silver is dirty. They wouldnt honor a coupon they sent in the mail. I can continue, but you get the point.

The restaurant is very nice looking inside and the outside seating is nice as well. The staff was very polite and accommodating! Prices were reasonable and the food was great. Not only did it look amazing, it tasted delicious as well. The only recommendation for improvement that I would have is that our waiter seemed to be a little overloaded w/ tables. He was very polite and fairly timely w/ our orders and such, but we had to ask a couple of times for drink refills and one of the appetizers we ordered. Otherwise I would definitely recommend this place to a friend and would eat there again.

The overall experience was awful. We waited 15min before we were offered anything to drink.. and the food had absolutely no flavor. From a nacho lover I was really disappointed not having fresh jalapeno on my nachos. (this stuff was from a can).. when I asked the manager he said in fact i was wrong they were fresh ones and they dont use from a can. 2 min after he brought me fresh jalapeno to add to my soggy nachos.. The food was expensive compared to other quality restaurant around the area. I dont plan on eating here again.

Drinks are good and great prices. I ask you to try and see if there is any real comparison to the carne asada here and puerto vallarta down the street. If everyone could actually compare the two places Plaza Azteca would be out of business in no time. The one reviewer was not lying about employees talking bad about customers either. I hate it when employees talk $hit about their customers thinking they will not be able to understand or tell. I cannot imagine how embarrassed I would be as manager if a customer told me that.
