I was looking for somewhere to get a nice bowl of pasta and boy did i find it. I would give this place 10 stars if i could. As we walked up the chef was picking fresh herbs from his garden and he greeted us when we walked in. The restaurant is elegant and beautiful inside and has a very nice outdoor patio. Warm fresh bread is served with slow roasted whole garlic cloves and oil. Nice touch, something different. The pasta is all handmade. Me and my father both had the carbonara which was absolutely outstanding. Absolutely delicious, just as good if not better than the north end of Boston. Everyones meal around us came out piping hot and looked wonderful. The portions are filling, you will not leave hungry and the prices are very reasonable, especially in CT. We finished our meal with some classic terrimisuh which was also delicious. The service was exceptional. The waiter was kind and efficient and our food came out fast and hot. This was a wonderful dining experience and one of the best meals I have had in CT. I will be back many times.

My wife and I have been to Osteria Romano in Monroe a number of times since it opened a few months ago. The owners, Maurizio and Graziano, are first generation Italian brothers. They are amazing individuals who have brought a passion to owning and running a restaurant rarely seen these days. Every meal we have had at Osteria has been wonderful. The food is fresh, with lots of natural ingredients, and is consistently served piping hot. We have had most of the Italian dishes on the menu, and all have been outstanding. We have also been extremely impressed with the fish dishes. Chefs Graziano and Jamie are both terrific. The service has also been first class. There are three outstanding servers in Jeannette, Karim and Juan. I would rate this restaurant as one of the best in CT.

This is a classic case of a restaurant in business to make money over providing quality food and an authentic experience. We had their fish tacos, kale salad, and burger. The fish tacos were good, if not spectacular. The kale salad, on the other hand, was incredibly bland and lifeless. The burger, ordered medium, came out well done, and at no point in the meal did we get the sense that it would be better to be up front and honest as opposed to leave bitter and confused. As a solution, it seems Tula needs someone who cares in the kitchen and a staff that feels empowered to make sure their customers enjoy their meals. Neither seemed true in our experience.

Excellent, wood grilled octopus with white beans and kale, home fried chips with balsamic (the good stuff) and gorgonzola, fish tacos, steak sandwich a hit, Sticky Fingers desert - marscapone whipped cream, marscapone plus dark chocolate and whipped cream served in bowls for dipping your homemade vanilla wafers into - nearly came to a fist fight over who would get the last bit. Cheese cake homemade and super. Service, perfect nearly invisible unless you needed something, perfect timing. Decor modern, crisp and elegant. Great wine selection - ok gin martini - super peach sangria. A new favorite.

Went here after visiting Silvermans farm for my motherinlaws birthday. Extremely disappointed. Ordered pasta and meatballs for kids. Meatballs were very spicey. Bolongnase was very spicy. Pasta did not taste like it had butter on it. Portions were surprisingly small. We ordered Gnocchi and twelve were on the plate. We asked for a manager and the owner came over. We told him our issues and he seemed apathetic. My wife asked him if 12 Gnocchis were the proper amount for a $25 plate of pasta and he appeared ok with it. It has a beautiful decor, but thats not enough fir me to return.

I loved Tula! But that is no longer the name of this restaurant. It was bought out by a cookie cutter Italian restaurant not too long ago. My wife and I went there for New Years Eve assuming it was the same Tula. Unfortunately it was not. The only thing the same at the time was beer menu from what we could see. Its one thing to change owners, but if youre going to completely change the menu then change your name too as it confuses patrons (I have been told since we went there the name has changed on the sign, but the Tula site is still online?).

This is a fairly new restaurant in the Monroe area and our first and last time there. On the plus side I will say that everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating;; however, that didnt make up for the poor food, teeny portions and extremely slow service from the kitchen...3 strikes youre out !!! Now they had an opportunity for an Easter Brunch to make it memorable and they flunked terribly ...its true someone needs to oversee the kitchen staff ...hire a new chef or something!!! Good Luck in the future!!

Very warm and friendly welcome, felt like family. Offered drinks while our table was being prepared. Service and food were excellent as well as their own label of wine. Apps a little on the pricey side but meals were as expected. Looking forward to trying their patio once it is warmer outside. Will definitely be back soon!

My wife and I have been to OR several times now. The gracious hospitality of the Ricci brothers is only overshadowed by the fabulous food. The wait staff is attentive and professional. Many friends who have joined us agree. We are thrilled that they have come to Monroe.

What a fantastic restaurant. We had our rehearsal dinner there last week and they were super accommodating as we had a group of 35 people. The wait staff, food and atmosphere was amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant.

great location. lovely decor. whimsical, funky, creative menu. BUT the waiters are not trained on the basics. and they bring the experience down. unfortunate -- would be packed every night if they had better waiters.
