For the past three months, my family and I have been taking my 95 year-old mother out for a weekly lunch at the Da Capo restaurant in Torrington, Connecticut, but Saturday, November 24th will be the last time we will eat at Da Capo. When we arrived in the early afternoon, we were one of only three groups having lunch. We sat at our usual table at the window, far from other occupied tables and the restroom. Sadly, at the end of our meal, my mother became ill. She was too ill to walk to the restroom, and fortunately no one in the restaurant except the owner and the staff realized she was ill. Immediately the owner began harassing us to take her into the restroom. All of us, including my mother, would have much preferred her to be in the restroom as this was very embarrassing for her, but she was semi-conscious and physically unable to walk there. The few other customers in the restaurant were completely unaware of my mother’s problem, and at no time did they turn to look at my mother, so I ignored the owner’s demands and kept her at our table. Once my mother recovered, I was given a bucket and some towels, and cleaned up the area under our table while my husband walked my mother out to our car. We paid the bill and left. Once my mother was in our car, I went back into the restaurant to speak with the owner and apologize again for my mother. Unfortunately he was still extremely disturbed and simply told me “not to f…ing come back.” My mother and I are sorry that she became ill at Da Capo, but never once did the owner show any compassion or concern, especially considering we were regular loyal customers. We will never go back to Da Capo and will never recommend the restaurant to anyone again. I hope that when you have the occasion to take out your elderly parents or grandparents, you will chose a restaurant where the owner cares about his customers. It is not only about the food.

Worst experience ever. There was 6 of us celebrating a birthday , we were sitting outside and racked up a bill of $120 so far. The waitress kept asking if we wanted our bill, we said no we would like another round of drinks and a menu but the waitress would walk away then come back and ask if we wanted our bill. Apparently someone else wanted to use our table so we were kicked out. The manager blamed it on the server saying they have a problem with that server. Manager wouldnt take responsibility for the server. I run a hotel I know when my front desk does something bad that it is a reflection on me and I take ownership . Worst manager ever. Will never go back.

Who wants to go to Italy when you can get it right here in CT? Okay, I do too, but the food is absolutely amazing. Often the place is quite busy (did I say the foods amazing?), but out of the dozen and some times Ive been there, Ive never had to wait for a seat. Possibly the secret is to get there early... Its by far the best Italian cuisine Ive ever ate outside of my own home, being Im a cook myself. Whenever I have company over or want to take my girlfriend out for dinner, this is the place! Prices arent outrageous and you definitely get your moneys worth. And if you like tiramisu.... it doesnt get any better than at Da Capos.

I went here for the first time Saturday and truly had a wonderful experience. Ive heard some mixed reviews in the past, but was recently told their long time chef has returned, and that the food is back to its prime. I certainly cant speak to what the food was like before, but it was excellent this weekend. I had a hot lobster roll with a side salad, and a cannoli for dessert, all were to die for. The restaurant was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday afternoon, so I wonder if litchfield needs a friendly reminder about this gem.

We had an impromptu family reunion and because my grandmother had won a $100 gift certificate from the hospital she works for, we came to Da Capos for dinner. Let me start by saying that our 8 person party was hosted by lindy. She was extremely nice, hospitable and so very patient with us. The food was absolutely amazing! Thank you for the exceptional experience! We will absolutely be returning!

We went there because the new England balloon festival was a complete disaster. The food is truly farm fresh. I really enjoyed the cheese board. Typically places that call themselves farm fresh are really expensive and half decent. This place has great value to its customers. The wait staff are also very friendly. Would recommend this place.

The service is great, and the food is delicious. I have never been disappointed by anything I ordered here, and I visit often! The salads are awesome, entrees are killer, and they have a great signature drink selection as well. Highly recommended.

Great food, romantic atmosphere but also a good family setting. Love the pizza and all the appetizers Ive tried. The bread they serve before the meal is always fresh and warm, probably my favorite part of the experience.

Great food with a delightful atmosphere. During the warmer months, outside seating is also available. Prices and portion size are about even with each other, so you definitely get what youre paying for.

I was really sick when I went here, but from what I could taste the food was good. The place was ridiculously busy. Not a lot of choice out in Litchfield
