I may not have dine there, but I wan to share my experiences of the time I used to work there as a part-time job a few years ago. Yes, I agree that most of the place is unsanitary because we dont have much of the supplies needed to get rid of the grime from the dining walls. If the boss closed the place temporarily, we could have done that. Also, in the kitchen, the place is the worst place to look into. The kitchen has a very cramped space, and cockroaches and rats sometimes scurrying around. The boss did not invest for any exterminators; only a few mouse traps were only laid out. I wasnt there to see this, but I heard there was a time a cockroach was found from a diners dish, and that diner ward off incoming guests away from the restaurant. And inspectors arrived to investigate the scene. In addition, theres no head chef, and that makes me wonder if standards were properly executed. I tasted some food, and I have mixed feelings for it. Maybe my stomach cannot handle or something like that. And sometimes during the summer, there were usually huge parties. Now, I dont mind working for a huge party of 8 tables since they do give out huge tips at the end, but what really concerns me of the guests. Every party Ive seen are only Vietnamese or Chinese. I wondered if the boss is somewhat discriminating because he only targets to Asians and not others. At least ask others and see if theyre interested. At last but not least; pay was really below minimum wage for myself; only $5 an hour but it was paid under-the-table so I dont know if it applies to that. Im glad I left the place, and I do hope the boss improves the restaurant and his management. Right now, as I remembered when I left, it was still suffering in shambles.

This has been my familys "go to" place for Chinese nearly every time we were in the mood, and has remained our preference, ever since it opened way back in like... 93 or so. To this day, I still use GD as the benchmark to which I compare all other Chinese food up against, and no other place has been so consistently great. Fast forward to today - now as an adult - every time Im in Manchester to visit family or friends, when Im heading back home (I now live just south of Boston), I always place an order to bring it back because nothing else simply compares. Because its just that amazing. After 20 years, I cant say that Ive had everything on their menu, but I consider their chicken and brocolli, pork lo mein, pork fried rice, fried wontons, golden fingers, wonton soup, to name a few...to be the best Ive ever had, every time.. A friend once told me that you can very accurately assess the overall quality of the food at any Chinese restaurant, based simply on how much you like or dislike their pork fried rice / house rice. GD rice will not disappoint, and they dont put those stringy onions that can annoyingly get stuck in your teeth in it. I cant comment on service, as I almost always get takeout, so my message here is to try it because I think youll be happy you did.

The food was terrible! After tasting something my friend had on his plate, we both decided the best way to describe it was what tasted like bleach. They got my meal wrong and it was easy as pie. The Pu Pu platter was dry and cooked to death. Most of it had an after taste. The chicken is questionable and the prices for the apps are ridiculous. The waitor was rude and making fun of us for being Americans! Worst experience Ive ever had!! I will never go there again!!! DO NOT GO HERE!

I got an order delivered, after making me order 20$ worth of food for them to deliver it, they forgot the food that I wanted in the first place. Then they refused to drive back to my house with the food or the money for it. Then when I called back saying I wanted my money back they hung up on me. Never ordering from them again! Terrible service and mediocre food.

My husband and I stopped there while travelling. We still remember it a year later because it was so good. The food was a little different than your average chinese place, but it was really good. I have another picture of my husband with a flower garnish that was on his plate.. made from a carrot!

My fortune cookies fortune read "An old broom knows where the dirt is". I wish I had the fortune before I was unfortunate enough to waste $23.00***$30.00 with tip on a sad excuse for Chinese food. I know where the dirt is, its in my Chinese food from Golden Dragon.

How u gonna have a dim sum open at 11 in the morning when we arrive not even one menu item cant even be served. The presentation sucks. And they charge $3 for air. And its too hot and muggy can bring it that restaurant 1 table no service.
