It must of been the time we went but the place lacked character, charm, warmth, an inviting atmosphere, sound and real music. It was quietly awkward. Man, there were black and Spanish people there. I dont understand why it was so quiet. We dont care we are loud speakers and it was library quiet in there. The food I really couldnt find anything that made me go back and in my conscious I eat what I knew was safe worried about not getting sick. The food looked premade, it was either undercooked or overcooked and nothing looked liked it was made with love. Sorry I wont be visiting this place for another lifetime.

Now I did go on Christmas day so perhaps thats the reason why the food was not fresh, the servers surly and the place dirty. Or maybe not. Maybe it just sucks. Bottom line is that most Chinese buffet places are pretty bad. For $11.95, however, you would expect a higher level of quality. The hot foods had all been sitting out there all day, the meats were dry and the vegetables really soggy. This is the worst one Ive been to in the New Haven area, well, actually the world. I would recommend you stay far, far away.

I took my son to the bathroom and on the way he ran through the kitchen door. Food was piled in the sink, food on the floor. Flies everywhere and extreamly unhygenic work area. Food was ice cold in the buffett, so any food contamination would not have been safe. . My family and I didnt eat a whole plate and asked for a refund. I was rudely told they dont give refunds and if I didnt pay they would call the police.

This buffet has to be the best one in the New Haven area. They have a great variety, its affordable, clean and the food is terrific. Even the sushi is fresh and outstanding. The servers are friendly and desserts are tasty. The only thing I was dissapointed with was the taste of the green tea ice cream. Everything else is outstanding. Highly recommended!

Dont listen to Will. :P This is probably the best buffet around. Wonderful selection from mac and cheese (my fav) to sushi, shrimp and salads. They take your drink order as youre walking to your table and youre free to go to the buffet right after. The servers are super prompt at clearing away plates. I highly recommend this place!

Great variety, good food. Remarkable how a restaurant with this much food out can keep the chicken from drying out. I liked it so much I ate here 2 days in a row-- unheard of! Loved the mushrooms, General Tsos chicken, sliding rolls, California rolls, shrimp. Lots of room for lots of people. Dinner for 2 $33 including tip!

Lunch menu......pretty good..they had steamed fish and fried flounder or grey sole which is usually found at dinner at other buffets. Sushi is ok but no sasihmi. I liked it but the bathroom needs to be cleaned and sanitized. : )

Since changing into the Phoenix, the selection and quality drastically went down. I gave it a few tries, but wont be giving it another (which is sad, because it used to be my favorite buffet before the change).
