Good burgers, but needs some work:
- for just a burger joint, I think they are overpriced, especially with 5 guys burgers open in Westport now
- It's ridiculous how they charge for toppings. .25 cents for lettuce? Come on.
- a "deluxe" gives you a burger and fries plus pickle and coleslaw for 10 bucks. IMO, too much. Maybe 7 and change would be fair
- waitress was rude. We wanted to sit outside and the the waitress got moody with us for trying to move tables together.
- the menu is very confusing. A chicken "burger" is really chicken breast. The veggie "burger" is actually just veggies. I would just make it so you have ground beef burgers and then an option for a chicken breast sandwich. I don't like menus with so many options that you make you feel like you can make some bad choices. I prefer to have the restaurant recommend their ideal combos.
We ate there twice and maybe will try for a third. I don't know, because I would love to have a "diners, driveins and drive thru" worthy place in town. Right now, it's just not there...
12/18: tried it again. The waitress was disinterested in taking our order. She didnt ask how we wanted our burgers cooked either. Fries seemed old and greasy even though the place was empty.

I have been to Flipside many times since they opened a year and a half ago, and although Ive felt the prices were high for the product served I still returned on a fairly regular basis based on convenience and a pretty tasty burger. However, I will not return after my experience last evening when I made an inquiry to the bartender (Stephanie) regarding a duplicate charge on my bill and received an extremely rude response. I own and operate a business, and I know that the customer is Not always right, however in this case I Was Right regarding the overbilling, and this could have been easily rectified. Instead, the bartender told me that I was wrong and I clearly didnt know what I had.,..quite untrue. She was clearly overwhelmed at the bar based on customers not having flatware for dining and overall service taking a long time. It is very rare that I say I will Not return to an establishment, but with so many options in Fairfield why waste your time in a place that clearly cares very little for its guests.

Nice place very casual. Was there for happy hour and had a spicy pinappletini drink...it was good but not my style. Was just trying something new. Ended up get my long island and was very satisfied. I also had the pretzel bun, that was ok but def would have enjoyed it more if it had salt on it and a cheesy dip instead of honey mustard. Also tried the fried calamarri which was deliciously seasoned but missing the marinara sauce bc it came with a chipotle dipping sauce. They should have stuck with the classic marinara

Burgers are always great, the guacamole appetizer is so good we cant get enough of it. Their zucchini appetizer is great with their dressing. They also put a nice effort into presenting the platter of food as well as providing enough food for the customer - they dont skimp on anything, even the wine! The waitresses are friendly and always looking to see if the customer needs anything, asks if we are satisfied and is quick on service. That is why they deserve 5 stars.

This place was nothing special. It was a bit disorganized and staff could be neater. Lots of noisy babies in high chairs which is okay if you dont mind that. Food prep staff was not wearing gloves and touched everything. The food was so salty I couldnt stop drinking water when I got home. Hambugers were dry and french fries too thin so they were tasteless. Nothing different about the shakes either. The waitress was freindly and provided good service.

Worst experience ever not only was there a roach in my drink but no one apologized or seemed sympathetic. Are waitress didnt even come back after her Babel of it being a piece of pineapple. Seriously you hand me a bill and a $20 gift card to return no meal should of been free absolutely disgusting. The worst was no apology or care in the world. Keep your $20 gift card would never return.

Good food at reasonable prices. Beers and food were limited in selection but there was something for everyone and everything was tasty. We had our dog with us after a day out and allowing dogs on the patio was a definite plus. They even had a separate menue for dogs with appetizers and desert! Its hard to find places that allow pets. I will definitely be going back.

The food is great, and the staff are mostly nice, my only issue is if youre ever there on a busy hour youre totally IGNORED, they just let you stand there and wait no greeting no "sorry for the wait... Wll better right with you" nothing, its basic management 101!!! So frustrating and VERY RUDE !!! ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR CUSTOMERS FLIPSIDE !!! For that you get 1 star

very rude if youre late to your reservations. We had a surprise planned for a friend and two people in our group were here already. We were waiting on a few more and the waitress were getting very rude. When the rest of our party arrived and she saw them come in, she rolled her eyes and said theyre here to another waitress. The food was very delicious though.

Great place! Great food! Wait staff is the best in town! Atmosphere is very relaxed and there is something there for everything. If you dont like it you can deal with me. Oh and guy who likes 5Guys... Go there and stay there since its evident that you dont have a clue about good burgers and that you can get at any temperature at Flipside.

Descent burger joint. I agree with another reviewer that it is a bit pricey. A build your own burger should come standard with lettuce and tomato. You can get gourmet burgers and truffle fries for the same price in New Haven. But, I liked the decor and the food was very good.

Definitely my favorite place to get burger...ever. Having travelled the world and back, I have had my share of incredible burgers. But Flipside is absolutely perfect. Friendly staff, great food...an overall fantastic experience everytime I walk through the doors.

This establishment has the most delicious Merican cuisine! Our server, Cathrine, was the sweetest most knowledgable and helpful waitress Ive seen in a while! I highly recommend this place. Its hard to pick off their HUGE menu but dont worry, its ALL DELICIOUS!!!!!

Beware! Over charged my credit card twice!! Restaurant denied there was any problem. When I called my bank in front of them, they still denied any issue. Bank verified the inaccurate charges. Never apologized for any wrong doing. 25cents for relish, really?

Why compare this place to 5 Guys? I love them both but Flipside has a bar and wait staff. 5 Guys is just above "fast food" service wise. When compare to its peers, Flipside is great. And very kid friendly.

Nov. 10, 2011 MarySue Enjoyed great burgers, mac and cheese and appetizers at the bar. Sweet, friendly bartender. Hubby and I thought the place was extremely clean, food very good. We would go back again.
